She took the time to explain her cutting style and I could not be more pleased with the outcome. I have already made an appointment for my next visit and am really looking forward to visiting Katy and the rest of the Barbers at Hoppi's who seem to really enjoy their chosen field of work.

Lucky's is your elevated, personal (and kinda hipster) barbershop. The guys are all awesome, friendly professionals. I consistently go to Matt Petro and have been to a handful of others if Petro's schedule doesn't line up with mine. I've NEVER had anything less than a five star cut and beard trim from any barber at either location. The Lucky's guys are true craftsmen and embrace the art of giving a top notch haircut. The Groomsmith is conveniently located just on the outskirts of downtown in a small-er shop. The venue is kept modern and fresh with white walls and blueish accents. There are 8/10 spots for barbers and one bar where they serve beer and coffee for patrons. Each "barber booth" is equipped with everything, including hairdryers, air pumps, etc. It's clear that each barber has an eye for detail and takes pride in their work at the Groomsmith. When I first met Dylan, we discussed my typical haircut and he took the time to figure out how my hair naturally grows and how to best cut it. The barber I got was a little talkative but I'll always prefer that to unfriendly. Only reason I'm giving four and not five stars is because my shave was a little rushed for the extra $5 I had to pay for it. No straight razor clean up was offered, so I walked out with a good deal of hair on my face and stubble remaining on parts she buzzed clean. Traveled from south Boston in over 2 hours of traffic / rain to pick my son up at school to bring him to this haircut. Called 10+ minutes prior to advise of small 5-10 minute delay. Took a run turn at toll plaza and advised barber what happened and advised we were arriving a bit later than expected and explained the series of unfortunate events. Kyle advised they had a "strict" 10 minute late policy. After explaining the circumstances, he said that he would ask the manager Rebecca to make an exception. He came back on the phone to tell us he could not do the haircut because he he "did not have enough time" as he had another haircut with another customer. No one else was available either. We would also be charged for the $45 haircut cost. Disappointed, I also explained to the manager Rebecca and she said she would charge us $45 even though we were not a no-show and did not cancel. I explained that we are literally outside the door and that we were coming in and would patiently wait for a cancellation or a no-show. This was at 4:20 pm. What happened next was flabbergasting. Upon arrival, Kyle was nowhere to be found. No one greeted us or noted that we would be on the waitlist. I spoke to another barber who told me he was well aware of our situation but he didn't know "where" Kyle was. He then went and asked the manager Rebecca "where" Kyle was, and she said "downstairs." We sat there for 40+ minutes. Kyle remained downstairs the entire time. He did not reappear until 5:03 pm for the next customer. We left and our credit card was charged for the $45 "haircut" we never received while Kyle sat downstairs for 40+ minutes. The sad thing is that we would've been extremely appreciative of Kyle cutting my son's hair, and given him a nice tip. We would've also provided a very nice review. But more importantly, we were looking for a new barber, and we would've gladly given this barbershop our business for the next four years for both of our sons while they attend school in the area. I am not happy that a local business treated us this way.
