Clearly, there is no way I could not like this charming little place in the heart of downtown Alpena. I popped my head in here one day while doing the fall color tour thing up north with my husband and was impressed with how adorable the place was. The owner was there and seemed super friendly, too. The ambiance was cute as can be and everyone seemed warm and friendly. We stopped in for a bite to eat and wound up grabbing a few baked goods for the road. The cupcakes and cookies were pretty good. Aside from being a baked goods shop, they also sold sushi! Yes, I said it- sushi! I wasn't expecting that and I'm not sure how good it was, but the fact that this little lunch spot had sushi was kinda impressive. Other than sushi, they had a host of other decent lunch items on the menu that day, including fresh wraps and salads, as well as the aforementioned baked goods. I was slightly bummed out to see that they didn't have a bigger selection of vegetarian-friendly options, but it was a small cafe in a relatively small town, so I get it. But hey, they had sushi!
