This company was chosen by another contractor to handle our homeowners insurance claim. It was a…read morevery long process and involved many contractors. The flooring and carpeting was the only real disappointment. We were given a limited selection of carpet supposedly in like style, quality etc to what we had previously. During the initial showing of the samples we complained how thin the samples were but we were assured that the padding is what would leave the final product to our satisfaction. We were not given any other options so took their eyes for it only to be disappointed with no only the thinness of the carpet and padding but the utter denial that it is any thinner than before. The owner came to our home twice only to tell us the same thing. We now have to hire another flooring company to do the job to our satisfaction then try to get any out of pocket expenses covered by the insurer Nationwide. After the installation we even noticed the seam losing its backing and crinkles when your walk over it.

I'm going to say I was skeptical when we were told there would not be much of a trace of dirt / dust. We came back to the house after the team was already there for 2 couple of hours. I will tell you what I walked into made me very anxious especially when the crew said the tile they were removing was harder than they anticipated and they expected they would have to come back the next day to finish. We made plans for our dog to stay overnight at the facility he was at for the day. By the time we got our dogs supplies for the overnight stay to daycare, Brandon was calling to tell us they pulled 2 additional staff from another job to come finish our removal! When we went back to our house around 4:30 that afternoon, they were just finishing up. We could see the original writing on the cement from when the house was built in 2000! MINIMAL dust and all the old, ugly tile, and all traces of the old work was gone. I've recommended Floor Dozers ever since and would use them again.

I called around looking for a retailer whom stocks carpet. I got a hold of Pat sweet helpful sounding lady whom was nice on the phone, sounded like they might have what I was looking for in stock which was music to my ear's ! I was hopefully optimistic as I am almost done with a complete remodel house and they could deliver by this friday . However as he was quoting prices they were considerably higher than a store I just left. I gave make model color etc and they were going to try to match it on a order but preferred selling what they had which was in stock ( but 1100 more than a deal I had in writing. Art introduced Eddy and they went back and forth and wrote up a proposal and I said i will let them know but 1100 is kind of hard to swallow though I loved there piece and time frame. Then a few hours later while at lunch Eddy calls asking where I am at and if I wanted to move forward . I said gee whiz man I want to but its a lot more money for being able to install friday... .. I said " I will call you when I am done with lunch" as I need to eat on it"! We both chuckled and I ate lunch then called back and offered a counter off. To take 11 boxes of tile same vendor of which they do business with and come down a few hundred and I am ready to go. I know borrring so far :):) Eddy tells me to call Art which I did and his demeanor went from fun " "wheeling a dealing guy I met " to very serious tone" I'm not sure I will do the deal ( I remind him ...we are talking about 300 different on a 5k plus deal and he is getting min 120 ft at a 1.00 a ft tile that all tile shops sell at 2.5 a ft says ok I will do it where can I meet him and ask am I close by? I said no I am working on a house but I am ready to go right now. He says great come over with CASH and we can move forward. I said I have my credit card out , I am ready to give you a deposit to which he said this deal is dying fast ITS A CAH DEAL ! I said perplexed you don't take cards ? He said its Cash I offered to pay a hundred extra to offset his fee's and essentially he rudely ended the call but said as he hung up, he only discussed CASH at his store. I went to my car and found the my copy of the proposal THEY WROTE AND COPIED ME on and it said 395.14 tax on the paper! I immediately called eddy before calling Art back and Eddy said Art said to him remember we talked about Cash ? He said he thought it might of been what Art said when I was there ( I said, it never happened, Art was trying to convince Eddy)...I said to Eddy "you guys gave me the proposal and it say's tax right on it . I asked Eddy if he could show him what he wrote and in NO way did anyone ever mention CASH. I said he maybe hiding his taxes but I pay mine and if I do a cash deal it looks like I am making a lot more on the house when I sell it ( I need to expense it ! Then a few hours later Eddy calls me and said Art said to give him a CASHIERS check or cash to give to the installer when he shows up friday and he will move forward! otherwise deals off! I was insulted and baffled, ... Despite the amazing reviews if you look at the BAD ones . Art is a jerk . Eddy is a people person and I cannot help but believe Arts genus was figuring out how to keep a guy like Eddy. Left to Art he wouldn't be in business! Definitely wouldn't have the positive reviews...and I am still somewhat perplexed at the reviews they do have. But look at the negative ones, you will see ART named . , My head is still spinning on what appeared to be a fun deal that I was looking forward to doing. Fell apart because of GREED ! a few dollars on a credit card and or TAX ! Became very disappointing and insulting in the end. With the ridiculous terms!

But, unfortunately, if your looking for professional, precise, custom quartz countertops... I cannot (in good conscience) recommend. Since I was the homeowner/project-manager, communication was key & unfortunately it was a fail 85% of the time. On a positive note, when Gonzales mis-measured/installed the area by my stove, at least they agreed to come back & fix it. But the veins on my quartz are horizontal on that piece. And, on the other side the veins are vertical. Ugh, wish they matched. In one area where the end of the quartz should line up with my existing tile, it extends about a half inch or more. Also , 4 weeks after my $45k remodel was complete, I noticed a large chunk of quartz missing , which was not disclosed. They just decided to grout over it in hopes I didn't notice. I gave 2 stars because of the bathroom vanity top. I currently don't see any issues with it... but maybe wishful thinking.

They came back shortly after the new cabinets were in and successfully reinstalled our countertops. We heard from MANY people that, "It's very likely the quartz countertops will break when you try to remove them" but Salvador's team was very careful and didn't break ANY of the pieces at all. We were so relieved! Gonzalez Custom Remodeling was on time every time, responsive, friendly, and just awesome all around.
