We used Tanner to replace our flooring in our house. 1800 sf. We paid them to rip out the tile and lay engineered wood (the best you could get without going solid wood which is not encouraged in AZ). We spent $26k with them. We dealt with Al and everything seemed to be going fine except when he told me "we don't have enough wood". I was shocked because he measured and ordered the appropriate amount of wood needed. He's response was "dont worry about it." Good thing I had taken a picture of the wood that was dropped off at the house as as I would have had no proof when they didn't deliver all I had paid for. Had I not had proof I believe they would have tried to charge me for more wood. Turns out they failed to deliver 9 boxes that were paid for by me. OK. Mistake are made. I moved on. When we had to redo our shower in our second home in Tempe we immediately called Al as I still trusted him. Well, let me tell you it was a much different experience. The job was supposed to cost $7k. I wrote them a check for $4k on June 27. I was told it was a 10-14 day job including dropping off tile and materials. Guess when they STARTED? July 27. So they held on to my money for one month with no explanation. I have text after text to Al asking for info and barely being acknowledged. Excuse after excuse. Any time we asked for a status it was crickets. Apparently they thought because my son works at home that they could show up any time they wanted regardles of conference calls or meetings. I texted him on August 4 to please give us a status. Crickets. I texted him on August 7th that I understood he was busy but we needed to know that status. Crickets. He called me the weekend of the 16th (so12 days later) pants on fire but I was busy so didn't answer. No voicemail from him so apparently didn't seem too important. Then on Monday August 17th he texts my son that he thinks I blocked him. Is he ALRIGHT?!?! I've sent him multiple texts that he ignores and I'm blocking him? I sent him a text and said I'm on a conference call "what do you need?" No response. Another text to him. Crickets. Another one. Then my son texts him, "please answer my Mom's text". Then after four texts to HIM he finally says I wasn't aware of this group text and I never text anyone. (BULL SHITE). He has texted me dozens of time over the last six months. Again I text a fifth time " Ben said there's an issue with the grout". He says "No issue we're good. So two days later I found out they picked a grout they thought would be best (even though I have a picture of the grout we decide on June 27th. I said. I didn't ask you to choose the grout. We had decided on it. What color did you use. He REFUSED to tell me. He said go look at the bag at the house in Tempe (I'm in Queen Creek). So now he's just clearly being combative and an ahole. He tries to call me. I told him at this point I want everything in writing since there's been so many issues. Then he threatens to cancel the electrician and glass door install. OK. You want to threaten me? You refuse to tell me the grout you used and now you're threatening me? At that point I just said have your manager call me. He was biligerent with many texts I won't bore you with. So now I'm waiting for a call from his boss. I will gladly post the beligerent texts from him, I'm just worn out tonight. I don't take kindly to people who refuse to do the simplest things (like tell me the grout you used) and then threaten me. I would run not walk away from this company. They hire PM's that will drag out your project. They will try and act like they didn't order enough material (take pics for proof). Will refuse to keep you up to date with status. Then threaten to not finish your project when you are just asking for the grout they used (when you had already agreed on one). Its madness. Find another company. I sure will. I had planned to have them replace my quartz in my kitchen (very big kitchen and island), as well as the counter for my office cabinets and background. We also have to put a kitchen in our casita. They have probably lost $35-50k worth of business a direct result of Al's rude, unprofessional, and threatening bahvior. read more

They immediately sent someone out to assess the situation and make sure the mold wasn't harmful, they then demolished the existing bathroom vanity and created a new quality cabinet with a gorgeous double sink. Update;) after my review, Mike Tanner called me and was on top of it. He sent someone out to fix my countertops, I was still not happy with how they turned out. I have big windows in my kitchen and a lot of light so every thing shows. Mike came over and looked at them, at my request. He's a very pleasant down-to-earth guy and he offered to replace all of it if we weren't happy. We thought about it and decided we love it anyways. It is beautiful. We had a dilemma. Our 22-year-old home was 50% carpet and 50% travertine tile. We really wanted to get rid of the old carpet and have the same flooring throughout our house. Did we really need to replace the travertine tile too? Could we match 20+ year old travertine? Did we have to find a complimentary tile (non-travertine) to use in place of the carpet as a compromise? Immediately upon entering our home for the consultation, Mike Tanner was able to identify the name and source of the travertine and said we could absolutely match it. So, we placed our trust in Tanner Materials and proceeded with the project. Our congratulations to the Tanner Materials team for successfully completing the complicated flooring project that transformed our house to now 100% travertine. The project was to install 24" square travertine, in what had been the carpeted rooms of our house, to seamlessly match the existing 20+ year old 24" travertine in hallways, bathrooms and kitchen areas. This work included delivering the heavy tile pieces and bags of the 'mud" to our sloped hillside property and moving the materials to the multiple cutting tile areas in either the raised back patio or front entry depending on the location of the rooms that needed to be tiled. Mike Tanner and team worked with us to schedule the work to accommodate the movement of our furniture from room to room that allowed us (dad, mom and 2 year old puppies) to live in the house while the tile was being installed. The project took 5 weeks in the hot Phoenix heat of June-July 2023. We couldn't be more pleased with the professionalism, expertise and quality from the Tanner Materials tiling team. read more

There will always be issues with any construction and rebuild job. You are in denial if you think there won't be. I'm an Interior Designer so I know. Originally, I purchased cabinets and a granite countertop when we were remodeling the kitchen. Our general contractor recommended that we come here, so we did. We've had some problems with the cabinet hardware working properly and the slide-out garbage drawer ended up having to be replaced (the metal slide mechanism). This was about four years and a bit after the remodel. Tanner was pretty good about getting us a replacement, but it wasn't the same size and some modifications had to be done to the drawer to make it work again. Since it was a few years after the install, I can't complain too much that the slide-out mechanism replacement was different. I rather enjoy the dynamics of the office staff, and they definitely tried to be helpful. read more

We purchased quartz countertops and installation from Tanner Materials on 19th avenue and couldn't have been happier. We visited several other places and were disappointed . Actually Tanner Materials was going to be our last visit before we gave up. This place was great! Their selection (we actually got to touch slabs -not just tiny tiny squares of samples or blotchy pictures on a lap top like other places). They sent a guy out to measure the next day, then installation was shortly thereafter. Other places told us 3 to 6 MONTHS for ordering and installation, and we would not get to see the whole patters on the slabs. Jen DeHart was a joy to work with-any question we had or anything we needed-she moved the process right along. She was absolutely wonderful. We worked with Mike to get luxury vinyl flooring to replace our carpet. He was super nice and his crew did a great job installing our flooring. It's beautiful and has held up really well even with teenage boys in the house. While their employees were not always prompt, they did fantastic work. Our project manager, Victor G. was super helpful and worked with us every step of the way. He was very apologetic about some items (and workers) not being on time, but he made up for it by dealing with us fairly. The bathroom turned out nearly perfect, and the countertops and cabinets we couldn't be more pleased with.
