I was very open about that before enrolling him. He was new to our family at the time and we weren't even sure how extensive his hindrances were. I was led to believe that they were equipped to provide a positive and constructive atmosphere for ALL children no matter their circumstance. He was left alone in a bathroom long enough to lift the toilet tank lid and break it. Twice. He was suspended for this. The first time there was no incident report, this led me to believe it was, in fact, not the second time. His teacher confirmed that it was the first time. I came in to find a decorated member of the management team yelling at him as he was curled in a ball on the floor. This is not an appropriate way to treat a 3 year old or any child for that matter. He got hurt on the playground and there was no explanation about exactly what happened to him. Simply "he says his shoulder hurts". He broke his clavicle. After our trip to the er when I called to let them know he wouldn't be coming back, they said they understood and seemed to show some concern. Until the next day when we received several phone calls asking "When will you be coming in to pay for him?" No child deserves to be left alone here.

It took a great deal of courage for him to speak up, and instead of taking his concerns seriously, the administration did the exact opposite. When I brought this to the principal's attention, I was met with excuses, dismissal, and a clear effort to minimize what my child experienced. Rather than investigating objectively, she essentially told me my son's perception was wrong and defended the teacher at every turn. As a parent, it felt like my child was being labeled a liar simply because it was more convenient for the school. To make matters worse, the school refused to move my son to a different class, forcing him to remain in an environment where he felt unsafe and unheard. This was incredibly damaging and showed a complete lack of concern for his emotional well-being. My son does not lie. He is intelligent, thoughtful, and had absolutely nothing to gain by telling me something so upsetting. The way this was handled showed a complete failure of leadership. A school should protect children first--not protect adults or sweep serious concerns under the rug. If your child ever comes to you with a difficult or uncomfortable truth, ask yourself whether this is a school that will stand with your family or silence your child. Based on our experience, I would not trust Dayspring Academy to do the right thing when it matters most.

Since the new director, Courtney, took over, I began receiving calls almost every other day to pick my child up for simply "not listening." To be clear, my daughter was not being violent or physically harming anyone--she was being treated like normal childhood behavior was a major issue and she's only 4. What's even more concerning is what I observed through the cameras. Instead of redirecting or positively guiding the children, teachers frequently yell at them throughout the day. It creates a stressful and unwelcoming environment that is completely inappropriate for young kids. A VPK teacher Ms. Pat walked out due to being "overwhelmed" and I overheard her on the phone tell my daughter in a loud tone "don't talk to me ever again" which my daughter told me herself what was said. Another teacher also admitted to beating her own child which is kind of concerning considering she works with children.. I would not recommend this daycare to anyone. The difference became immediately clear when I moved my daughter to a new daycare--on the very first day, she was noticeably happier and more at ease. That alone confirmed I made the right choice.

I know my child isn't the first to "give you an issue listening" so maybe they need to take a look at themselves and ask if they are actually teaching children at their "academy."

The IAs ride the bus at this school, but are rewarded with coffee, hot chocolate, and donuts around vacas. This school has Headstart, pre k VE, AND a huge ESE building with all elementary ages catered to. The programs are new and up to date with equipment and knowledge. Very cool playground for the intermediate grades that adds a great amount of exercise. I have never seen such a dedicated cafeteria staff! Rock on, Northwest!

Anyway to start First day I picked my son up and he was still in a nighttime diaper we put on him in the morning before dropping him off .. sopping wet and full/ leaking. We let this go because we understand he is almost 3 and they had him the room where all kids were potty trained the teacher was not informed by Mrs Abby that he was in a diaper. The last straw my wife came early to pick our son up and he was MISSING after 15 min of looking he finally came out of a back room ! They refuse to show us ANY proof after the whole place is covered in cameras she would however send us videos of our son playing 30 min before he went missing. This happen on 3/22/24. We are only posting this because they have not giving us video evidence as promised and we WARN you to please don't take your child here and if you do find other means. This place is very affordable which should have been the first sign but that's not worth the health and wellness of your child. Our son started that Monday and was taken out by the end of the week. Please make other arrangements and don't do business with this place who stands behind being "Christian" but are really deceivers and untruthful people.
