Oui, elle a eu sa robe avant son mariage, mais elle a quand même été très stressée et anxieuse pendant tout le souper de répétition. Cela aurait pu être évité si vous étiez plus organisés. Il y a d'autres commentaires où certains dissent avoir vécu des mauvaises situations avec vous, encore une fois à cause de votre problème d'organisation, mais vous continuez de vous justifier, d'attaquer et maintenant de menacer... et tout ça alors que le service reçu n'était pas à l'hauteur des attentes. Sarah est arrivée en retard à notre premier RDV pour trouver une robe pour le mariage de mon amie. Elle est rentrée dans la pièce assez pressée après un autre RDV et nous a demandé si elle pouvait prendre un peu plus de temps pour manger... À ce moment-là, je n'ai pas été très impressionnée par sa gestion du temps, son manque d'organisation et la qualité du service. Son bureau est en désordre et il semble qu'elle prenne des notes sur des informations importantes, comme les dates de mariage et les détails personnels, sur des bouts de papier qui traînent sur son bureau. Le jour où mon amie a trouvé sa robe, Sarah s'est également montrée pressée à se débarrasser de nous car les clientes de son prochain rendez-vous étaient arrivées et elle était à nouveau en retard. De plus, elle n'a donné aucune indication quant au moment où mon amie devait revenir pour faire ajuster sa robe, alors mon amie a dû la rappeler plus tard pour lui demander. Pour donner un peu de contexte, Sarah a dit à mon amie qu'elle devait venir la même semaine que le mariage car le poids des mariées peut fluctuer beaucoup avant le mariage. Elle s'y est donc rendue le 22 août pour faire les ajustements et on lui a dit qu'elle pourrait récupérer sa robe le 24 août avant 16 heures. À notre grand étonnement, quand on arrive le 24 pour chercher la robe, Sarah ne semblait même pas savoir que la robe devait être récupérée ce jour-là, même si elle avait écrit la date du mariage dans un papier quelque part... Elle est allée au fond du magasin et en est ressortie plus tard en disant que la couturière n'avait pas fini les altérations, que la robe serait prête vers 18h30-19h00 ce jour-là et qu'ils pourraient la livrer directement chez mon amie. Mon amie avait son dîner de répétition le soir même, avec des invités venant de l'étranger, donc ce n'était pas une option. Une autre solution consistait à livrer la robe chez mon amie le matin du mariage, ce qui rendait mon amie encore plus nerveuse à l'idée de ne pas avoir sa robe de mariée si peu de temps avant le mariage... Finalement, il a été convenu que la robe pourrait être livrée chez mon amie avant 21h00, mais cela signifiait qu'il fallait se dépêcher de rentrer à la maison après notre dîner de 19h00. À 20 h 30, il a été décidé qu'ils devraient livrer la robe au restaurant car on n'avait pas fini de souper. Je n'ai pas les mots pour expliquer la nervosité et l'anxiété de mon amie au cours de ce dîner important, qui était censé la faire se sentir spéciale et chérie. Au lieu de bien profiter, elle n'a cessé de regarder son téléphone pour vérifier l'heure et d'envoyer des messages à Sarah à propos de la livraison... C'est vraiment injuste qu'elle a dû être si stressée et inquiète pour quelque chose qui aurait pu être évité si Sarah avait été plus organisée et, surtout pendant un moment si spécial pour mon amie. Ils ont offert un service qui n'était pas à la hauteur des attentes et ils n'ont pas voulu compenser mon amie pour leur manque d'organisation. Ils méritent zéro étoiles.

They unfortunately don't do it. They rent wedding dress. But boy, is this place great to look at! The stock is amazing! They have everything. They even have realistic fake rubber trouts to recreate those "Asterix and Obelix" village fight about fish freshness. I'm a sucker for hats and they had plenty of them. But sadly...No wizard hat. (I think maybe it was elsewhere) Also, they have crew to make custom armour design both in leather and metal. I want to say I didn't put any pictures of their work because they don't want to get copied and I totally respect it. Believe me they are pieces of art! Even if you don't want to dress medieval this place is a must see. It's so much more!

This is an incredibly special place that's difficult to put into words. Kept carefully secret for…read moredecades, and now only open few hours a day on a few days a week, when you come here please move carefully and slow and know that you are on some sacred old school Montreal hallowed ground. The Little Shop is tucked in an old Parc Ex residential duplex, the only sign there is a wonder world in here is the demurely open door a few afternoons a week. The collections fill every single room of the mainfloor, basement and second floor apartments. And I do mean collections: there is material behind this quiet, gritty, working class frontage for a massive fashion, fibres and collectibles history museum. A room devoted to antique lace? Midlength cocktail dresses? Picture frames? Crates of hundreds of vintage eyeglasses, bowties, bakelite, turn of the century hats, 100 year old Spanish hand embroidery? Yes, all of this and more. Though it's overwhelming, like every secondhand and vintage store you've seen has sucked and tucked the best of themselves into tight corners of this one building out of a sheer undeniable desire to be together, there is order. For example, a wall of carefully folded quilts greets you when you walk in, including beautiful historic pieces usually only seen in museums and in movies... Because the secret of the Little Shop is this: it's the private, professional renters that are it's original appointment-only clientele. The Cirque du Soleil comes here to rent costumes and set dressings, the McCord and other museums borrow from here to fill out exhibits, the Spiderwick Chronicles created rich fantasy worlds out of the goods hidden in the Little Shop. And they are often hidden: apparently props people are notorious for hiding their finds amidst the dusty bounty... and the staff laugh tolerantly when they find a room that's been tossed, as they begin the Sysiphian work of re-establishing order. The owner is kind, and incredibly wise about the history and value of her goods, generous in spirit with the young vintage kids who come find her these days, even the couture kids who dig and dig and leave with the same old brand name things. She is carrying on a tradition inherited from a generation before: truly brave, creative, inspiring parents who carefully opened their vast hearts to artists and cultures and taught generations of Montrealers about the stories and true blood and sweat values in these goods. Take a minute to have tea with the cool people hanging out there, if you're lucky enough to be offered one, and you'll be overwhelmed with stories of great Montrealers like Hugh MacLennan, you'll find out you're sitting next to a master laceworker, and you'll get a glimpse of a special beating heart that belongs only to this town.

It was a treasure trove during my rockabilly time: crinolines, bustiers, polka dot scarves, pointy kitten heels. Working in the fashion industry, it was a great place to buy inspirational pieces in design, and fabrication. My house has gone thru many changes with buys from the shop: lace tablecloths, chintz curtains, mid-century prints, tiny bedside tables. The big draw was the owner Ann Silverstone. A warm and curious woman she always made you feel welcome. And she always had a story about a piece or about someone who had come into the shop. She knew everyone in theatre and film ( renting out clothing and housewares) and had a tear sheet at the ready to share with those she knew "in the business". When she passed it was hard to go to the shop. One always expected to see her in her chair sorting thru her latest finds. But I did go back. I couldn't pass up those great items she had found. I am happy to say that the shop is thriving under the management of her daughter, Jill. And Ann's constant aid and companion, Phyllis, is also still "in the house'. You are still treated to tea and cookies in the afternoon. And you get stories on the old and new acquisitions. The clothes and hats and house linens have a little more organization. It was daunting to some on where to start. And the prices are still good (The prices are fair for their provenance ). There are kids clothes and dolls, sequinned jackets and vests, a room filled with lace and crochet, vintage ski sweaters and tweed jackets, shoes and hats and gloves, boxes and vases and books, buttons and pins and glasses, and friendly people with interesting stories to tell. It's still the best adventure in the city!

This is not the first time I went into a Moores' store, but this has been the best so far. We went…read morethere because I needed to rent a suit for a wedding in six weeks. The good: Incredible service! The personnel was very helpful and patient with us. They showed us a variety of combinations. They also know their stuff. Although the personnel was kind of young, they were very nice and professional. While one person's choice was done (we were renting two suits), someone started taking the measurements, not wasting time. The bad: Changing room is very bland. Wallpaper of changing room was coming off (or previously pulled off). No one told me to join them again for measurements out of changing room, so I was waiting there like a fool for a while, and didn't feel "right" to leave my stuff unattended. But the bad are overshadowed by the great service and professionalism of the staff. Will go there for my own wedding later this year.
