I used rideshare, not a rental car but signage to find all the extras were easy to find - well placed signage and again - one terminal. Really appreciated the rocking chairs available to people waiting for their ride shares. With a work facility in Savannah, I'm sure if/when I'm needed there again - SAV is one of the airports I won't mind being stranded at due to bad weather.

We picked Baxley off of our GPS app based on location and great fuel prices, it turned out to be a perfect stop. We didn't encounter any other humans while we were there, but it was very nicely set up for pilots to take care of themselves. The fridge was stocked with snack fixings and a donation jar. Fuel was easy and a great price. And the space was super comfortable and relaxing. It would be a great spot to stop and ride out some bad weather. I don't believe it is terribly close to town, but it looked like they had a van out front, so there may be a way in to town when the FBO is staffed.

The smartest decision I made when planning my visits was to start flying into Hilton Head Airport instead of Savannah Airport. It is significantly faster, easier, and far less of a hassle. Although the airport is small, its compact size makes it incredibly convenient for inpatient travelers like me. Shorter lines, quicker security checks, and less walking. Well, walking is good for you, but sometimes you are in a hurry. Currently, the airport is undergoing renovations and a slight expansion, which is great news. These improvements will enhance the overall experience without sacrificing the ease that makes Hilton Head Airport so appealing. I quickly started looking around for cab companies, and ultimately chose Airport Transportation Group. I called the day before to reserve a shuttle departing my hotel at 4:30am. They were responsive, sent me email confirmation, and very friendly via phone and email. My transportation arrived 10 minutes early to my hotel, and it was a very smooth drive to the airport.
