It's not as busy, you tend to get in and out of security relatively quickly, but the downfall is there aren't as many food/beverage options, and manytimes unless you're going to a larger city, you can't get a direct flight too many places. This particular time, I arrived pretty early for my flight. Luckily I already had my carry on and boarding pass, so I didn't have to go to ticketing or drop my luggage off. I had pre-check, so I went through that line. It was pretty quick, but noticed this particular time, the regular security line was quicker. Once I got through security, I headed to my gate. Jacksonville is doing some construction in their terminals, so the options are pretty slim. Hopefully that changes.

It's a fairly easy airport to navigate and typically get in and out of on any given day. There are solid restaurant and shop choices while you wait. The bad: There's less direct flights than you would find at other Florida airports like Orlando or Tampa. On a recent visit, we were going away for 5 days, and wanted to park in economy parking. We used the website, saw that it was only at 85% capacity, arrived very early, saw open spots in economy parking but all of the lots were shut down. We had to move to short term which is much more expensive and there's zero guidance as to where parking is available and the guidance given is wrong. This made for an en extremely stressful experience trying to make our flight. I can't imagine how tough it must have been for those flying out later that day.

This airport is on the smaller side compared to Atlanta but it's definitely preferable to flying from there. The customer service is always great no matter what time I'm flying. I had a 5 am flight and the employees at check in were so friendly and conversational. Always a pleasure flying from here.

We picked Baxley off of our GPS app based on location and great fuel prices, it turned out to be a perfect stop. We didn't encounter any other humans while we were there, but it was very nicely set up for pilots to take care of themselves. The fridge was stocked with snack fixings and a donation jar. Fuel was easy and a great price. And the space was super comfortable and relaxing. It would be a great spot to stop and ride out some bad weather. I don't believe it is terribly close to town, but it looked like they had a van out front, so there may be a way in to town when the FBO is staffed.

We came here during spring break. It's definitely way smaller than the Norfolk Passenger Terminal…read more It's clean. There's a 24hr vending machine area next door. There are two entrances for the terminal...about 20 feet away from each other. One of the entrances has an Enterprise Rental Car desk right there. The parking lot is not terribly large, but the day we went, there wasn't any difficulty finding any parking. The bathrooms were clean. There is a charging station with cords attached. If you can find a seat near an outlet, take it. There's a small kids area complete with books and toys. The seats are fairly close together...so people and their baggages can make it feel cozier than what some may be comfortable with. We had no issues...people were friendly. I think I and kid #3 made a lot of friends that day. Hahaha. All in all, we showed up about 2 hours before roll call and waited a few hours for the plane to come in from Gitmo. I'm glad we had an overabundance of snacks from our trip down there...we had some to snack on instead of being at the mercy of the vending machines. There were some hot items in one of the vending machines with a microwave right next to it....pizzas & burgers were in the machine. Nice little terminal and can't complain for the cost of traveling Space A. Also, no free Wi-Fi (like we had at the Norfolk Passenger Terminal).
