Stacy arrived on time, had a fabulous personality and most important to me is that he was a great driver. I have had many bad experiences with taxi and livery services where I white knuckled the whole trip. Called them twice for a taxi while in Savannah and someone came promptly to pick us up in a clean car. We had mentioned that we would be needing a ride to the airport later on that day, and the driver even arrived at our hotel preemptively to give us a ride. Both drivers were friendly and helpful. We were staying at the Eliza Thompson House and they had called a cab for us once. The cab that came barely ran, the driver could hardly speak English, and there was sticky stuff all over the seat. He also claimed the meter was broken and charged us a few dollars more than Chatham. We were scarred since we are used to a clean car with a courteous driver, after using Uber at home. As I wait stranded at 2:30 in the morning after making a reservation, meticulously calling to update my flight delays, and specifically talk to a representative about my specific arrival time, I am disappointed to not see my cab. I was told, there would be someone holding a sign with my name at the bottom of the escalator. Every last one of the people on the flight have left. I held out for my arranged cab out of respect. That respect was not reciprocated. I only assigned two stars because the customer service and (false) assurances over the phone were reassuring. That star was earned because they fooled a regular traveler that believed the BS. If you need a dependable cab at this hour, you may want to seek another company. These guys are the best. I called with a special request. Look for woman walking on the side of I-16 interstate and take her to her desired destination, Atlanta. Stacy, owner of Chatham Cab, was recommended to us by our Cemetery tour guide, Shannon Scott (great tour guide! http://www.shannonscott.com/). He arrived right on time to take us to Bonaventure Cemetery for our tour. After our tour was finished he was already waiting for us at the cemetery entrance. Shannon suggested he show us a couple of other sights on way back downtown. At that point, Stacy became our local tour guide. He took us to the famous treelined road that Forrest Gump ran down, past the largest tree in Savannah, a drive thru one of the wealthiest neighborhood, and past the best place to buy ribs. My girlfriends and I were there for a long weekend and ended up calling Stacy anytime we needed a ride. He even came to our rescue when we couldn't get a ride back on the free public transportation bus from Tybee Island. He is friendly, punctual, has a great knowledgeable of the area, can make restaurant suggestions, and has great music! We often found ourselves singing and dancing in our seats. I cannot say enough positive about Chatham Cab. We are from NJ and our son attends Savannah College of Art and Design. Whenever we need to get him a ride to the train station or airport we call Chatham Cab. The drivers are friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. When my son was a freshman 3 years ago, we use them for the first time to bring him home for winter break. When the driver got him to the airport, he reminded my son to text his mom so she does not worry. I would not use any other service when I visit Savannah!! Would definitely recommend! My family was in town for a wedding and we used them 3 times for getting around. The first night was to go to and from a family member's house on Sunday afternoon...the driver was pleasant and seemed genuinely interested in our stay and experiences while in Savannah. They never called back, never showed up and I called again and all I get is an answering machine for me to leave a message. I left a message and have still not received a return call. We found Chatham Cab through Yelp on a recent trip to Savannah. My husband has bad knees so we sometimes used them for some pretty short trips in the historic district to get to and from restaurants and tours. But they didn't seem to mind. It is a family owned operation (husband, wife, child, and employee) so we met several members of the family and all were delightful, timely, responsive, informative, and professional. We were stranded over night in Richmond Hill when our car broke down in the middle of the night on I 95. I will spare you the harrowing details! The next morning we needed a ride to the tow yard and to the business to repair it. It turns out the owner himself came to take us--it was a holiday weekend etc. He said he couldn't leave us stranded! Don't call anyone else!! I am from out of town and was visiting Savannah with some friends. The movie theater we went to had a power outage and the first company we called made us wait about an hour to show up after telling us the wait would be 25 minutes. We called Chatham who told us our wait would be 30 minutes before a car could get to us. They should up 10 minutes early! We decided to use them the next day to catch our 6:50am train and the owner was outside waiting for us when we left our room!! Best service that I have received for anything! I don't normally review but Chatham goes above and beyond and should be the only call you make if you need transportation in Savannah. read more

Stacy picked me up on time and when it came time to pay, he did not have change for a $20 on a $11 fare, told me to keep my money and catch him next time. There will definitely be a next time. I rarely write reviews, but considering all reviews for this company have been glowing it's important to note when things are not. I called at 1pm for a 3pm cab, and was called around 2pm to confirm and said "I'm going to the airport so it's important that you are here promptly at 3pm so I can get through security/check in" with a yes confirmation. Sure enough 3pm comes around and the driver hasn't showed or called. I place a call and am told they had to circle around the block because they missed it, which seems plausible. Except it took another phone call and twenty minutes for the driver to finally pull up. We arrived in normal time to the airport, but when I went to pay I noticed the meter was never running and the driver had to think for a moment about a price and came up with $28. Finally, I brought out two twenties only to be told the driver only had $5 in change and wouldn't accept a credit card. It's not that I wanted to stiff the driver, but I had no intentions of giving an additional or above average tip to someone who wasn't prompt and made excuses and was not apologetic about their tardiness. To top it off I checked their website after my arrival at the airport to notice it specifically states "We accept all major credit cards." I would not recommend a company with shady business practices, with drivers that are late and "can't make change" so they can ensure a hefty tip. read more
