The library has self service to check out books. You can even look for books online, place them on hold, or submit a request. If the book you check out will expire, it automatically renews the return date unless some else has requested it. Locating books was pretty simple, I didn't have any trouble. They have several computer stations too. Cost 10 cents per page when you print documents. The staff were all very kind and helpful. It was really easy and quick to sign up for a library card too.

Comfortable table with a power outlet nearby and it was of course, nice and quiet. It's not a very large library but they do have a more than decent selection. From where I was sitting, the fiction section contains quite a few recently published books. Good size for non-fiction and there were several libraries feverishly reshelving books. Names and phone numbers were taken as well as a temperature check and the typical questions asked about being ill and travel. Masks were required and hand sanitizer was available. The chapel and visitor's center were open too so they provided a wrist band after you were checked so you didn't need to be checked again. I was very impressed how well planned they were for this. The number in the house and each room were limited too. Volunteers were inside in each room to provide some history. The rooms were also decorated for different periods of time over 235 years from Victorian to the Civil War to The house is the oldest house in Raleigh on its original foundation. A lot of the original items are still in the home. Besides the house, the park has a garden, law office, kitchen, chapel so there is plenty to see or have a picnic in the park.

Then you just need to go to the hold section and grab your books. You have the option to check out books with a person or utilize their kiosk to self-checkout. At this location, self-checkout is easy as you can stack up to four books at a time and the kiosk easily and quickly knows what books you are checking out. You can print a receipt or have an email sent to you with a list of books that you checked out. When returning books, you have the option for a drive-up outdoor drop-off from your car or a drop box inside. There are always plenty of staff members willing and able to assist you. There are plenty of tables and computers and I like that they have a quiet room.
