My first trip to Ireland, it was just 2 days and it poured on the first. This property is very close to the airport, maybe 10-15 minutes by free shuttle bus which they offer. I just didn't know where to catch it so ended up taking a taxi for just under €12. Very modern and clean. Andy at the front desk was amazingly helpful, got me a room even though it was early about 06:30 while check in is normally 15:00. Room was a nice size, bathroom was right size to do your usual business. Tub was a but narrow but still got my fat behind under the shower head. View was not so great, I got the bus garage. No air conditioning but open the window and it cools off very nicely. There is a mini fridge for your drinks. Ice unfortunately is only on the 7th level I think, I was on level 4. Also no bucket for the ice so I used the hot water kettle. Staff from front desk, restaurant and coffee bar are extremely nice and helpful. I do think my neighbor next door or above me was doing their nightly exercise as they were a bit loud. Sounded like they were moving furniture around to make room. Other than the noisy neighbor, a very nice property and staff. If and when I return to Dublin, I will also stay here. Just get to breakfast real early, check out early as there are a lot of people doing the same. read more

Hotel is nice clean and comfortable and close to airport. Free shuttle every 20 minutes to Airport. Check in is slow and taxis are forced to drop you off close to the door but not at the door. While we had prepaid our room we wanted to be able eat. So they had to pre authorize my credit card. No worries. But when we went to restaurant to eat they couldn't charge mealto room. Had to run my credit card again. We ate in The Italian Kitchen. The server a young lady from Coolock was an absolute pleasure. However while my wife was happy with her dinner mine was just ok. So to be safe I ordered a pizza to go. When I opened it in the room ( a 4 cheese pizza ) it was dreadful. It's as though pizza sauce and grated cheese were endangered species as there was very little of either on this warm pizza dough. Dinner was not cheap, I was prepared for that at an airport hotel, but for $90 Euro I expected a little more. My advice..... Eat dinner before you get here. read more

Service was excellent and everything was clean and well kept. There is a shuttle to and from the airport and a taxi is cheap as well. My room was large and my bed was cozy. I will stay again when in Dublin. read more

My husband and I felt like living on the edge, so we took a gamble and used Hotwire's Hot Rate feature where you basically book a hotel not knowing which specific hotel you're getting after you punch in some parameters. Luckily, we scored with this hotel! Having traveled to various countries, we always expect our hotel rooms to be on the smaller size, but our room was very spacious with enough room for us both to walk around and spread out our luggage. The rooms and bathroom were clean, and they also have a kettle and some tea and coffee in the room. The bathroom mirror also has a perfect square within the mirror that does not fog up--so cool! Since this hotel is close to the airport (about 8 minutes), they have a free shuttle. The staff was helpful with helping us get a taxi into town, which is quicker than trekking back to the airport to catch a bus to the town center. The area around this hotel is pretty dead, so you'll need to pay extra to get into town (about $20). Your food options are pretty much the hotel restaurant, a pizza place by the gas station, or the gas station's mini mart. The walls are also pretty thin. In the middle of the night, our neighbors decided to do impromptu drunken karaoke while shouting to each other "I love you. You just get me. You really get me." Overall, I would stay here again if I needed a clean, yet spacious hotel for an early flight. read more

Hotel is spacious, modern, super clean. It is a quick trip via shuttle to Dublin airport on the morning which is great but also means not an easy trip into town for an evening meal. We are currently at the restaurant which is exceptionally noisy! The acoustics are really challenging, music loud, screaming baby at the next table and a big party on the other side. Very limited vegetarian options. Service is attentive. Restaurant is not ideal for a peaceful meal on our final night in Dublin. read more

I had to stay a night in Dublin, on the way to Chicago, due to an error made by my airline. The Clayton is where my airline had me stay for the night. My room was ok. I'm only posting this review to acknowledge the positive customer service experience I had with Joe, the food & beverage manager. He was a great help! He was highly effective in making sure I felt like a welcomed guest amongst a crowded room of people. His attention to detail was impeccable. He's a true asset to the Clayton hotel. read more

Horrible place! Do NOT STAY HERE. They are a burn and turn hotel, AND DO NOT VALUE THEIR PATRONS. I had a Horrible experience from book-in, till check out. I booked With Regina over the phone, but immediately had issues when we arrived. They had spelt my name Wrong, and couldn't find my reservation, for which I NEVER received my confirmation email. FINALLY they were able to confirm my reservation; at which time they gave me a different room then what was originally issued to me during my phone reserved call. I had booked for bed, breakfast, and car park. 205 American dollars. For one night... They advertise their Resturaunt staying open till 10:30pm, so my fiancée and I went downstairs to the on site Italian Resturaunt, only to have them turn us away and say they were no longer serving, EVEN FOR TAKE AWAY, at 10:10pm. With 20mins left to scramble and find food, we walked into the bar and ordered LAST min with the only server that would even look at us, Christy. Thank you ms., your service was the only good part of our stay. Even though she got my food order wrong, I was happy someone had even thought to help my fiancée and I out with a meal. That meal cost me 50... for a burger and a steak. (Which I wanted a sandwich) but I guess when everyone just doesn't want to make the business more money and just get out, it says something about the management and environment they work in. It says that They didn't want to be there...and nothing of customer service. As far as room service; don't bother. No one answered the three times I attempted to ring down. The morning Buffet was decent. I can say that. Good selection, but again I found the staff to be quite rude and unwelcoming. My final gripe, at check out; they charged us 9 Euro for car park.... even though my reservation was to INCLUDE PARKING. There were a few words between the concierge and I, as I was completely sure it would and should have been included with my reservation. But no hospitality received, we paid the 9euro. Again, clearly all they see is dollar signs, do not care about patrons, and the staff clearly need lessons of customer service. At least smile. Never again read more

Appetizers lovely, 2 of the 3 main entrees (chicken and pork bellies) were just ok, the third (Hake), a bit better. It took nearly an hour to receive the main entrees. Our server and the rest of the staff were absolutely lovely but the service was incredibly slow. Dessert arrived 1.5 hours in...ugh. Instead of 3 courses for 27.95 euros each, we'll be trying the Pub restaurant next time... read more

Nice rooms but service looks different. I had a long layover in Dublin and decided to spend the night at the Clayton. The airport shuttle is good to have and runs frequently enough. At the hotel my partner and I stayed in the Executive King Room, booked for two adults. The room is nice, not very spacious and the King Size bed is a UK king, so a good bit smaller than you would get it in the US or EU. The downfall was that although booked for two, there was only one water (stowed away in the empty and not working mini bar) and one of each coffee. That's an unfortunate detail to miss, especially when considering the prices at the bar downstairs. We had two small Heineken, which set us back nearly 12Eur. That is pricier than at the airport. The free breakfast in the morning was non-existent, as I was told I could buy some pastries. Maybe the free breakfast was the one cookie both guests had to share on the room. All in all a big let down. I have stayed at the Clayton in Cork before and had a similarly bad experience. I do not recommend this chain. read more

Great food in Italian Restaurant . A lot of parking space easy access from M1 and M50. Very friendly staff and clean rooms. I would highly recommend to all my friend and family. read more

The staff was so accommodating! Food at the restaurants was delicious. The rooms were nice and clean. The gym was fully stocked. The bus brought us to the airport at 3am for our flight no problem. read more

1. Checked in, was given a room....it was not made up, went back to desk, got another room. 2. Went to computer on check in floor to print boarding pass. It cost money, but I couldn't figure out how to use it. What decent hotel in the entire world makes you pay for printing out a boarding pass? Asked for help, but they were too busy. Printed it at the airport. 3. Ordered wake up call. It did not happen....Had to throw clothes in suitcase, ran to bus to airport, no time to take a shower. I called the desk to ask why they did not call and they said they did, but there was no answer. I was laying awake in bed at the time they said they called, but I had the lights out and was not asleep so I know they lied. 4. Typical airport business hotel, great for leisure travelers as well. Very convenient to get to the airport on their shuttle bus that comes every 20 minutes. Rooms are spacious, clean, and bright, nice desk with a few outlets, and separate table and chairs by the window. Do wish that there were additional electrical outlets near the bed, but had nice reading lights on each side. Guest Information packets says that there are ice machines by the elevators, but they must have removed them, bar staff was very accommodating on getting me a bucket of ice, however. Free wi-fi that was reliable and got a good signal throughout the hotel. read more

For what it cost a night, I got way more than I bargained for! This hotel is beautiful, classy and the service was amazing. Rooms were well appointed and I finally had A/C. The Hilton I stayed at downtown had windows only. Swear my butt off all week. Highly recommend this and I will be staying here the next trip back! read more

The room was clean and I felt the beds were just fine. I was here with my parents and we each slept on a single bed. The bathroom is just like how it is pictured and I had no problem with their WiFi. It is catered to the business traveler but at least we were near the airport and rental car drop off (Hertz). It can be very difficult finding a parking spot at the hotel but they do validate. I wouldn't consider this a luxury hotel but it certainly looked nice and I liked the cleanliness. However, there is nothing within walking distance. You will need to rely on public, hotel or your own transportation. read more

After a long long flight we drove to our prepaid room for good few hours sleep only to find that there was massive construction going on. The noise was ungodly. Clayton knew they had a construction project, why didn't they warn customers?! They did move us to another quieter room after an hour's wait but it was of lesser quality. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! Checked in for only one night and was greeted with the rudest receptionist at the front desk. It seemed as if I was inconveniencing her by having her do her job. I found trash from the previous guest In my room as well...on the dresser in plain sight. Then when wanting to get dinner at the hotel restaurant/coffee shop, I waited 30 minutes for the server to notice me at all because the other wait staff continued to interrupt them and distract them from helping the guest standing in front of them. I finally walked away, because I didn't want to give them anymore of my money than I already had. I'd spent 4 days in Ireland when coming to stay here, and this is absolutely a terrible representation of the "Irish hospitality" that I'd seen elsewhere. Would highly recommend you look for somewhere else to stay. Convenient next to the airport if you're ok with being treated like an inconvenience during your stay. read more

Don't bother staying here. You won't pay more, but you sure can find better. Expect massive stains on furniture, sofas and chairs plus dingy worn out carpet on the hallway and in rooms. Expect mold, hairs and a dirty bathroom. Google's description of the hotel says it has AC. It does not. Housekeeping gave us a little fan. Worn out rooms that need a total gut. Had to call twice for a bath matt and we are still waiting for delivery. Tub is super slippery. We paid $200 euros weeks ago and now the same room is available for $110 euros. Was very disappointed in this hotel. I was only here for one night because I had an early flight the next day and wanted to be closer to the airport, but the shuttle service was awful. My sister and I boarded the shuttle heading towards the airport and the driver waited there for over 20 minutes (the site says the whole trip takes 20 min), and I know he was trying to be polite, but the shuttle was full and he kept waiting, fortunately our flight was delayed otherwise we would've missed it because the whole trip took about 40-45 minutes. Also, the dining service was bad. It look about 30 minutes for a server to notice us and take our order (it might have been the manager). We ordered an appetizer and entrees and it was all brought out at the same time, then we waited another 30+ minutes to get our check. Next issue was the hot water. I wanted to take a shower at night (10:00) and the hot water wasn't working AT ALL. I called to the lobby and they said they'd send someone to fix it, waited till 11:30 and no one called/came so I fell asleep. Fortunately it worked in the morning, which is what contributed to our morning rush, since we weren't able to shower the night before we had to shower in the morning. Lastly they are doing some construction on the hotel and we're working on it pretty early in the morning, which woke us up early than we wanted. It would've been great if they told us at the time of booking that construction was going on and the hours of work. Overall bad experience. read more

The clayton hotel is not what you would expect from a 4 star luxury hotel. The receptionists and waitstaff have poor attitudes towards travelers. The hotel promises air conditioning in the rooms but do not deliver. When we requested a fan they never sent one to our room. The room itself is clean but does not offer much besides the basics. No electrical outlets near the beds, or usb charging outlets that have become standard in most hotels. Also no washcloths in he rooms so bring your own. So far the only upsides to this hotel is the distance to the airport and the bartenders. I would not recommend this hotel over others in the area. read more
