This is a review of Clean Eatz Kitchen; it's their prepared meal delivery service. Their website does not publish an ingredients list but I took a gamble because the price was right and the name of the company implied that their food was consistent with "clean" eating. Once the food was delivered I was disappointed to see the food was rather heavily processed despite the claim of "real ingredients" on the label of each meal. Calling this clean eating seems like quite a stretch. Among the ingredients listed (photo included): Potato Starch, Sugar, Whey, Xanthan Gum, Corn Syrup, Modified Food Starch, Caramel Color, Disodium Phosphate, Disodium Guanylate, Disodium Isonate, Calcium Disodium EDTA, etc. The other meals aren't any more clean than this. Hubby and I ate lunch here and admittedly it is more of my sort of place than his. The food is clean and good without added sugar or salt. They do have pink salt available but no sugar in the place! I opted for the Hammerhead Wrap which was salmon, turkey bacon, spinach, guacamole with cilantro lime sauce in a spinach wrap. So I got my greens in for the day! It was really good and filling, although light on the turkey bacon. My side was yogurt with fruit and it was great. Hubby had the Philly Sandwich with shredded beef, mozzarella & spicy ranch. He added some salt and held off on the peppers & onions. His side was "coldslaw" but it was more of a bean medley. Drinks are included in the pay one price and our total for two was less than $18. I will go back with a girlfriend and build my own bowl! I am anxious to try that. There are spices for sale without salt or sugar, snacks and there is a smoothie menu that looks great. Had lunch here the other day. Wasn't sure what to expect when I walked in, but I'd heard good things Ordered a Southwest bowl at the counter with shredded beef. I think it was a special, but it ought to be added to the regular menu. Corn brown rice, tomatoes, beef, black beans, cilantro and southwest seasoning. My only complaint? There wasn't more of it! I was starving though, so there's that. A really nice gentleman came by and checked on us, assuming it was the owner. Very friendly chatted a minute, then moved on to the others in the restaurant. My wife and I started their meal plan last week. I gotta tell you! Wow! Just Wow!!! The owner talked to my wife and filled her head full of all kinds of nonsense about how fast food is bad, and anything cooked in lard is terrible blah blah blah!!! This is the South dude!? We fry our water down here!!! However, the meals were pretty freakin good! I can't speak for their healthiness, but I can tell you they beat the hell out of a tuna sammich for lunch!!! Yesterday I had the kale salmon salad - and who knew that goat cheese is amazing with salmon! No fryers here. No sugar-laden soft drinks. A blinding amount of options on the menu. Trying to eat a little healthier so I ordered from here. The food presented well. It looked very appealing. I got a chicken wrap with avocado and yogurt with fruit. The wrap was well portioned but soggy and tasteless. The yogurt was plain/sour tasting so much so the berries did nothing to improve the taste. They have a full menu with different options even if your like me and eat vegetarian, the food is always super flavorful and all their dishes are real affordable. We have loved visiting them in the past. The food is pretty good for being more nutritious. We recently visited the St. Pete store in Florida and ate there one night. No problems, good service. The next day they had a big sign out front asking for masks. We just went the night before without them. It's Florida. There's no mandate. The lady at the counter mentioned it, and I told her we would not dine in, and I just wanted to order. The manager came out and insisted we take masks. I took what they had, but was not going to wear them. We are over a year and done with this craziness. They still took the order, but we waited outside for them to give it to us. I ordered a bowl and it was very tasty. I can't eat a lot of salt and it wasn't salty so that's what I loved about it. I heard about this place via local advertising-maybe WZEW-so I was aware of the business. I live in Midtown. It was on a rare visit beyond I65 for a hair appointment that I recalled Clean Eatz and took the opportunity to give them a try. I was apprehensive to go at lunch because from the description of what they offer I imagined a line to the street. My friend and I found this yummy food haven tucked into a nondescript strip mall. There was no line? The place was fairly empty...wait, why? We ordered at the register. I'm one to order off the cuff and got the goat cheese sandwich and the chicken fajita to go. My friend was intrigued by the bowls you could create in 5 steps. There were so many variations available that we skipped it and instead ordered a salad however the bowl looked interesting so I put one together, again indiscriminately, to go. All the food was on point! You could tell it wasn't bag lettuce, what was meant to be crispy was crispy and so on. On the table were meal options you could order in advance for the week. Check out their website. I plan on ordering 5 meals for next week. It will cost less than $40-the same or less than what lunch out would cost. The spices on the table were so perfect that I'm tempted to throw away my drawer of haphazardly purchased spices and replace it all with the simple, salt-free spice blends Clean Eatz has to offer!
