So disappointed. My tattoo artist admitted to being tired . He didn't listen to what I wanted at all. Though it was a small tattoo it meant so much to me. Even after I expressed my concerned about the size not looking right he insisted it was fine. IT WAS NOT FINE. I am beginning to question this studio when I have come in with friends before and I have had it. Some of the employees have been very nice and welcoming but I witnessed an altercation between a man and a woman artist one day and it just set me off. The man was completely belittling the woman over a simple power outage fix and the whole room heard it, so awkward. Some of the tattoos I have seen are below quality standard and I've come in with my friends for their piercings to be fixed twice now. Over the last year I think I've seen 5 people in reception and it seems like theyre always making excuses for things. Glad I never got anything done here. read more

I took my 8 year old daughter to get her ears pierced last week and it was such a great experience! I called ahead to make sure they took minors and Jessica was so friendly and welcoming; I knew I had called the right place. Everywhere else we called that day was SO RUDE when I asked about ear piercing a child. We walked in and even with their tattoo patron in the shop, they immediately changed the music to Disney and my daughter felt totally comfortable. Warm, clean, and comfy space, by the way. I had my nose pierced recently (somewhere besides Clean Slate- will not say where) and the nose ring that was in was one that I could not get out to save my life. The shop puts these nose rings in so people can't get them out themselves so they are sucked into going back to have them changed. I was not happy. I went to Clean Slate to have it changed to a normal post and the piercer was amazing. She was gentle, and explained everything in detail. Her jewelry selection is huge and I walked out with 2 new nose rings! I will most definitely go back whenever in need, even to purchase new jewelry! I got my nose and septum pierced her the lady at the front is rude ash they make u wait so LONG even if u have an appointment. i asked for a hoop twice and didn't get one but yet it keeps falling out and they charge me every time i was in there. like if it's falling out it's obvious it doesn't fit my nose!!!! Been coming to see Van for a few years now and don't trust anyone else to tattoo me, a tattoo is permanent you will live with it for the rest of your life and you need to find the right artist. Honest review with photos: So this is going to be a long review But please read. So I have mixed feelings about this shop.I've gotten 4 tattoos and multiple piercings from here. I know now it is kinda late to be reviewing it but the tattoo I got that is messed up is permanently on my skin. When I got my first 3 tattoos 2015-2016 from clean slate they were pretty great I had an artist who did all 1 (semi colon tattoo on arm) of them for me his name Zane bortan (he is now at a different shop) and he did wonderful. The other two (butterfly tattoo on wrist and heart tattoo on finger) I got was from van who I believe is still the current owner/ old owner (he also did well). When I went in 2017 to get a matching moon tattoo on the back Of my neck with my sister the tattoo artist ( I am not sure if he was newly out of a apprenticeship or he was recently employeed at the shop ) butchered both our neck tattoos. The lines are uneven, it is not symmetrical and over all looks like crap. The shop never discussed this with us if he was an apprentice or a newly out of apprenticeship or what the deal was. When we both went back to the shop to get it fixed the owner Van told us that he would not touch it up or fix it. So they have lost my business from both me, my mom ( who also had Got tattooed here also by zane) and my sister (who got the matching moon). I've heard better things about current tattoo artists but it is still messed up that the owner refused to fix it, my sister was able to get her fixed at a different tattoo shop in the area but I am not able to (since I am a currently a college student and was in high school when I got them) and walk around to this day with the awful moon tattoo On my neck. The shop/owner should have done the right thing by fixing it but he refused. Which I am still upset about because I trusted this shop to have tattoo artist who would be talented and up to par in their art work. Sucks that they didn't fix it for us because then this would have been a 5 star review. Now moving onto the piercings Jessica Alm (owner of piercing studio) has done my piercings many times at clean slate and has done amazing. She has pierced my nose and my septum both healed great and with no problems. 5 star review for her. Overall I would NOT recommend getting a tattoo here (without meeting artist and making sure they won't butcher your tattoo) but I would still be alittle iffy about it because the Owner wasn't helpful but would recommend getting piercings here. i have other tattoo shops and artist to recommend if needed* read more

My teenage daughter wanted to get her helix pieced and after checking around- this place had the best reviews so that's where I took her. Well- I totally understand why the reviews were so great and I was so impressed with the service and care I felt the need to take some time and share with others our awesome experience. This was my daughter's first cartilage piercing. Jessica took a lot of time explaining to us how it would be done, what it would feel like, the required care afterwards, etc. She was friendly and professional throughout the entire experience and was maticulous in her selection of jewelry she recommended. I was so impressed with the entire experience that - rather than taking my youngest daughter to get her lobes pieced at some stripmall store with crappy, cheap jewlery- where the person piecing her likely had 30 mins of training on how to use a piercing gun - I took her to Jesica. And I am glad we did because we once again experienced amazing care and professionalism. Fair warning.... this is a piercing and tattoo store so if you are concerned with your teen in an environment where the people are "colorful" and the music is questionable at times- stick to the stripmall... But- if you are more concerned about getting excellent care and being treated with professionalism- You cannot go wrong here! read more

I called Clean Slate yesterday because I had the last minute urge to get pierced. I had never been before and it was the closest place to me at the time. They were able to schedule me within the hour and they were the only place out of the 5 I called that were able to get me in that day! The shop is set up in a house which i thought was super cute. Clean Slate has a very clean, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I was helped and pierced by Delaney who was just lovely. She was incredibly friendly and talked me through the entire process. She kept me informed of every step she took to complete my piercing. I also purchased multiple pieces of body jewelry as their selection is amazing. Mom and I went in for my 18th birthday to get my tragus pierced and her cartilage re-done. Jessica was so kind and helpful, and my mom was super nervous so Jessica accommodated to her needs by giving her a full run-through of the process, helping her pick the place to put it, and helping her pick the piercing. She worked as quickly as possible and was super cleanly. We did have to wait for about 15 minutes before she was ready for us, but it was definitely worth it. I would love to come back here some time but they are super busy all the time, so walking in isn't really an option for my spontaneous persona... but I will try and make an appointment :) read more

I had finally decided to do it and went to Clean slate, based on the amazing work they had done for my Husband and daughter in the past. 1st off they are super clean and very friendly. I looked around at several places and was surprised when I compared cleanliness and personability, These guys are top notch. My artist was Derik, I walked in and explained what I wanted to do. My appointment was for the next day. I am not good at all with needles and even ordered Hush to help get me through it. Derik told his time explaining everything and drew worked my art into something beautiful and feminine that covered my bad decision before. We discussed it and even made last minute changes. I squirmed and even yelped because like I said I am not good at this. He took his time and kept checking on me. I knew he was being very patient with me and the end result was AMAZING! I am so happy to wear this the rest of my life. I can no longer see that ugly mistake and now I get to see something beautiful all the time. My friend and I came in for walk- in tattoos. When we showed Jacob what we wanted, we asked for ballpark prices before he began. My friend was told hers would cost between $80-$100 and it'd take 30 minutes. When he was doing my friend's tattoo, he made sure to drag the duration from 30 minutes to over an hour. She had a butterfly tattoo with a 5 word phrase, and it should have taken 45 minutes at the max. When it came time to pay, my friend was charged $150 because of an hourly rate. She had let them close after getting them pierced in December and was really nervous that it was going to be extremely painful to get them open again. Everyone was helpful and professional and the owner (Van I believe) walked her through every step of the process. Absolutely abhorrent. Owner, Jesica, is fantastic even though both daughters had infections after their piercings. Jesica was a complete professional doing her best to rectify the situation. I was then told her husband, Van, was an outstanding artist and for my 50th birthday decided to get a tattoo from my wife and daughters. This is where it all goes south. Van was less than accommodating and I did feel a bit rushed and signed a promise for getting a tattoo foolishly without reading their cancellation policy ( definitely my error and an $80 error at that ($5 more for using my card)). Emailed Van to cancel within the hour after thinking about the overly customer quick consultation, his attitude and then further email responses, subsequent to my request to cancel, alluding to the "free" $200 dollars that they "gave" my daughters, though Jesica was properly taking care of clientele by covering for infections at the piercing sites. Van is the antithesis of customer service and while he may feel he "won" by keeping $80, I will never, nor will my family, frequent their shop again. If Van was omitted from the equation, I would have gone back to get that birthday tattoo but feel so turned off to them now, I am no longer interested in doing any business with them. Their are far too many competitors that will do right by prospective clients. F+ my overall ranking only for the fact that Jesica is the only one I consider to be professional. read more

I called to get my daughters footprints done. I spoke with Zane on the phone and he told me he had availability thar day. I went it with what I wanted and he drew what I wanted and custom drew her name. He didn't rush through the process and created a beautiful piece that I was excited to get. He took his time and I absolutely love my tattoo. He was so nice and talked to me the whole time, he genuinely cared about his work and I honestly haven't met a nicer tattoo artist. I have been to many shops before and yes they do great work but they aren't the nicest people. This is a first that I have had such a nice person give me a tattoo. I went here recently to get my 10 year old hip dermals removed. To say I was nervous was an understatement. I knew it would be painful for there was a ton of scar tissue around each piercing and one was infected. They got me right in when I called and the whole process was absolutely amazing. Everything the owner and her husband used were sterile and right out of the bag. They made we aware of everything they would be doing and the whole thing was as quick and comfortable as possible. After the procedure the owner went over in depth after care and made sure I knew exactly what to do to avoid infection and have minimal scaring. Highly recommend coming here for any piercing!
