I regularly ask my kids if they are glad to be at Hammond and the answer is always a resounding, "Yes!". Hammond provides my children with an opportunity to be challenged, to grow in their passions, to experience new opportunities, to excel in becoming a well rounded individual that has a healthy respect for academic, athletic and cultural excellence. We have seen much growth and change at Hammond in our 13 years with technology, new facilities on campus, curriculum as it is an environment that knows to excel you can never stop learning and being open to change. Helen Kiser joined the Hammond family this past summer as LS Head and has already won the respect as well as the hearts of students, faculty and families. I know that with her passion for children and positive nature our LS will continue to amaze and engage our students to do great things and more importantly become kind and generous citizens. I have said to many parents that ask about our US, the guidance and dedicated partnership your family receives from the College Counseling Department in 9th-12th grade is well worth the investment of tuition. LOVE THIS SCHOOL!…read more This is the school both of my kids go to. It's a virtual, online public school. My kids are in 10th and 12th grade and are EXCELLING at this school. Their last "brick and mortar" school left much to be desired and I am so thankful we found SCCA. The teachers are so helpful and truly care about the students and their needs, success, and the education they are getting. I have never had a problem with contact from the teachers or administration - they are prompt to return my calls/emails, and stay in touch with me and the kids over the phone. The variety of learning materials are essential to this school's success. There are actual textbooks/workbooks, as well as online ones. The lessons/activities are interactive and interesting. There are "live lessons" that take place in a virtual classroom where the teacher and students come together at a set time to have reviews and Q&As. There is an internal "webmail" system for the teachers and staff to communicate with the students and parents as well as allowing the students to talk with each other and make connections/friends. There is a message board FULL of info. Field trips are scheduled regularly for all age groups. There are extra-curricular opportunities with the Clubs program such as "Pens & Lens", the school magazine the kids put together, or the Robotics Club, Pen Pals, Student Leadership Club, and many, many more. My son was failing his first 2 years of "regular" high school. He is now a "B" student, on his way to graduating. My daughter faced peer pressures, drama, and even sexual harassment in her old school. She's now on the right path, in a safe environment, and doing well. I am very happy with SCCA and highy recommend it.

My daughter finished Kindergarten here and will be going into 1st grade and I very highly approve of what I've seen here at OPS. Great teachers, food menus, facilities, and programs! OPS is for K & 1st only, then the kids go to High Hills for 2nd & 3rd, Shaw Heights for 4th & 5th, then out to Hillcrest for middle school. I think it's actually brilliant to seperate them like that so they can focus on learning and having fun without the pressures of older kids.

My dance teacher Ms. Brown is truly one of the BEST dance teachers I have ever had, and I've had MANY! She is supportive and helpful and feeds my love for dance every time I walk into the classroom. The environment is no different throughout the school. The academics are wonderful and the teachers feel like comfortable people I can go to for questions and help with anything I need. The balance between academics and arts isn't something I expected to work, but after two years I can proudly say that I love this school, and I'm excited to be a part of its first graduating class of 2024!!
