I have a two part review: detail first, window tinting second. I have tried various other cheap alternatives to detailing, e.g. a "mini detail" at a full service car wash. The usual result is that the car smells like Armor All for a few days, and otherwise it's not much different. I'm *so* glad I finally took my 13-year-old car to Details Plus! This is the first time I've been happy with a detail job. The urge to buy a new car has abated. I plan to do this a little more often in the future. I've been going to Details Plus for a few years now for top-notch detailing work. Always a pleasure, and results are superb. Today I picked up my car from their Clear Choice side of the business after getting a full front-end clearbra installed. First of all, their work is again outstanding, with great attention to detail. Also, they have ditched 3M in favor of Suntek PPK for the film used, and I have to say I am very impressed. I've had 3M before, and always it ended up being a bit foggy, with noticeable orangepeel when you could actually get it to shine. Bug splats were next to impossible to remove. The Suntek film is "self-healing" -- pour hot water on it and it smooths out the inevitable swirls and marks that can appear over time. I'm looking forward to seeing how it works out, but so far it looks far better than I ever expected. If anything, the car shines more, and there's no way you can see there's a film on it unless you can spot an edge. Clear Choice/Details Plus is on the higher end, cost-wise. But it's worth the difference, and they stand by their work. I've been generally fortunate in my past experiences with other vendors, but I've seen far too many botched jobs to skimp on something like this. read more

The website and reviews present a professional, clean, and customer oriented business; the reality is the exact opposite. After calling twice on two different days and leaving two voicemails and waiting 10 business days with no call back I decided to stop by and take a look at their facilities and get a quote. I drove 30 minutes one-way to be left standing in the office area being actively ignored by two employees for 10 minutes. When it became apparent I wasn't leaving one of them sulked into the office to tell my the only guy that can give a quote was out but would be back soon. While I waited I noticed the facilities were dingy, run down and smelled like bar on Sunday morning. Save your money and do what I did... Walk away and find a professional installer read more

We took our BMW to clear choice a couple of months ago. Our car came back smelling like smoke, and they did an awful job on the tint. I ended up having to take it to another installer to remove tint and have it redone. There was lint all in the side windows and they left a mess in the car. The work on two of our vehicles was impeccable. Services range from detailing, window tinting, and clear bra installation. A good quote from their website lists other options, " You have a scratch or dent, we'll get rid of it, a smell, we'll extinguish it, or a mess, we'll clean it up." They also have other car relationships around town so ask them if you need something else done to your car. We tend to be a little obsessive over things and cars might be one of them. Solid work on my wife's new i3. Lots curves but they got the bumper, hood and lights (basically whole front end) damn near flawless and basically invisible with clear bra. Exceeded my expectations. Window tints equally stellar and not easy given its like 9 discrete odd shaped/hard to access window panes to do everything (sans the windshield). They even drove it over to the dealership to inquire if the kidney grills popped out which they also took the time to clear bra and then reinstall them correctly. Bryce even dropped me at work which was a class act. He was also good enough to tell me it would take a little longer then expected for them to finish because they wanted to redo the bumper and make a second attempt. Much rather hear that any day then someone trying to convince me to accept a second rate job. Yeah ok, so the shop doesn't look like whole foods or a doctors office but hey, its a tint/detail shop and they put out a quality product. And more than that they express pride in workmanship which is a big comfort. I took my Volvo in last Saturday mid-day to see if Clearchoice could do a job that I had read many online stories about a tough-to-do job: removing thick old adhesive left on the car hood (from a thick older clear-bra product which I had removed). I also asked for the bubbling old clear-bra to be removed from both mirrors. Bryce told me that it would take some time, however he was confident that it would turn out to my satisfaction. He also said that they could get to it the following Monday. So I dropped my car off early Monday morning before they were open, but in addition I wrote a note asking as an option; could they remove the headlight covers that were glued on? These covers although good protectors, dimmed the regular beam headlights at night. I was phoned about 10:30am Monday morning that they were successful in not one, but both tasks. They were prompt and did a great job: (the hood and mirrors seemed polished) and I don't know how they did it, but the additional request of the headlight covers was handled without a fuss. There are plenty of generic detailing jobs to be had in Boulder (I know ... from experience); that's why I'm so happy to have found Details Plus Auto. I have taken every black-on-black sedan I've ever owned to them for the very best in friendliness, service, and attention to detail. Last week, I picked up my new 2012 Porsche Cayenne from the dealer after waiting four months for it to arrive since it was a custom order. I then brought the Cayenne over to the guys at Clear Choice / Details Plus Auto for 1) exterior detail; 2) tinting; 3) clear bra installation. I spoke to Josh, the owner, before bringing the car in, and he thoroughly explained what would be done to the car and the experience of all his workers. With so many clear bra installers in Denver/Boulder, I didn't know where to go, but Josh sounded dependable and knowledgeable. So I wanted to give him a shot despite the shop being 60 miles from my house. When I arrived, Josh and I walked around the car and he again described exactly how the work would be completed and introduced me to Kirby, the individual who would be doing the clear bra installation. I left the car at the shop and Josh even gave me a ride to downtown Boulder. A few days later I came back to pick up my car. Josh was there to meet me - as he personally wanted to see if I was satisfied with the work. I first examined the tint. This was a huge concern for me because the Cayenne's rear windows are already factory tinted and I wanted the driver/passenger windows to match with the rears. I was impressed by how closely they were able to match up the windows - they looked exactly the same. So far so good. Next I took a careful look at the clear bra. With a black car, and a dramatically sloping hood, I was afraid the clear bra would be noticeable. But only with very close inspection could you see the clear bra. The edges were nicely tucked under the hood (I got the entire hood done), the bumper was smooth, and the fenders were completely covered. The bra along the fenders unfortunately had to be split into two pieces, but the line was only noticeable from up close. Overall, it was great. It should look even better after a few days when the moisture is gone. What I also like a lot about this place is the customer service. Josh is easily reachable via email and phone. When there was a slight discrepancy in the price he initially quoted me from the final invoice another employee prepared, Josh quickly refunded the amount. No questions asked. I asked a few people in Boulder "Who does a great job with window tinting"? It was interesting that more than one recommended Clear Choice. They did an excellent job on all my windows, were quick, professional and fairly priced. WARNING !!! Attempted Thievery In Progress !! I called Details Plus on 02/13/2017 about replacing the peeling tint on my passaenger front window of my SUV. The girl on the phone quoted me $75 for the tinting and $10 for the removal, a total of $85, she then asked if I wanted to make an appt - I wanted to check prices first so I told her i would call back for an appt later. The next day - 02/14/2017 during breakfast I decided to go ahead and just have them do the tint job, so after breakfast at a place just down the street from them a bit, I headed over there to check out the shop and make the appt. The girl in the shop who was detailing was very nice but couldnt give me a quote so she went to get somebody who could. A very attractive girl with dark curly hair came in to the office and I told her the situation NOT MENTIONING that I had called the day before just to see if the price might be cheaper..... HA !!! The girl asked what type of vehicle and I told her the Lexus GX470 parked out front. We walked out to take a look, she checked out the peeling tint and then quoted me $150 for the tint and $50 for the removal of the old tint - total $200, quite a change from the $85 I was quoted on the phone the day before. I left feeling dirty, like they had tried to rape me. Ugh. To check out prices I called Sun Ease window Tinting, which is literally 3 blocks away from Details Plus - they quoted me $65 for the tining and $10 for the removal, a total of $75 or $10 less than the original qoute from Details Plus. So I stopped in to Sun Ease's shop to see how they acted - The nice lady took a look at my peeling tint and LOWERED her price by $10 to $65 beause the tint will just pull right off with no need for scraping at all. So $65 versus $85 suddenly jacked up to $200. My suspicions are this, the original $85 quote was correct and only upon seeing that i drive a lexus the woman thief from Details Plus decided that stealing an extra $115 from me would be good for their business. Do yourself a favor and avoid the blatant thievery at Details Pus, where the only Plus is how much money they try to tack on. My only questions now are, If the actual price was $85 where does the rest of my money go and was the girl working who qouted me $200 for a single window tint planning on writing it up as $85 and keeping the rest $115 for herself ? If it is an honest shop then how could she even write up a single window tint for $200 ? Can't figure it out... Seriously folks, very, very sketch business practices at Details Plus Thievery = Go Elsewhere. read more

Was extremely disappointed by this shop. Got an over-the-phone estimate for having clear bra installed on my car. The material was pre laser-cut for my car (Lotus) and only needed to be installed, no cutting at all. Was called 4 hours later and told that it would be more than double the original estimate and they hadn't even started on the car (it was supposed to be complete an hour after the time they called). Told them no thank you, I don't do business with companies like this. Their work may be great but their business practices leave much to be desired. I'd avoid as there are many places that do this work well with a good business ethic. read more
