This is the first time I've been happy with a detail job. The urge to buy a new car has abated. I plan to do this a little more often in the future. Today I picked up my car from their Clear Choice side of the business after getting a full front-end clearbra installed. First of all, their work is again outstanding, with great attention to detail. Also, they have ditched 3M in favor of Suntek PPK for the film used, and I have to say I am very impressed. I've had 3M before, and always it ended up being a bit foggy, with noticeable orangepeel when you could actually get it to shine. Bug splats were next to impossible to remove. The Suntek film is "self-healing" -- pour hot water on it and it smooths out the inevitable swirls and marks that can appear over time. I'm looking forward to seeing how it works out, but so far it looks far better than I ever expected. If anything, the car shines more, and there's no way you can see there's a film on it unless you can spot an edge. Clear Choice/Details Plus is on the higher end, cost-wise. But it's worth the difference, and they stand by their work. I've been generally fortunate in my past experiences with other vendors, but I've seen far too many botched jobs to skimp on something like this.

Upon receiving my car back, i've noticed a 2 inch long razor gash through my clear coat, about 2mm from where the clear was cut. I was told this is "normal" work by a friend who knows the owner, but find this unacceptable. If you wish to affiliate yourself with the autobody industry, the idea of my THREE DAY OLD $75,000 car being dropped off and coming back in worse condition is absurd, its not even barely satisfactory. I won't take my car back to them because i don't trust them to return it in a mere neutral condition.

After measuring the paint thickness (unfortunately thin as apparently common for Mazda), Shawn recommended not buffing out the paint and explained how the film would hide most of the visible damage. We were return customers after Rebecca did a great job last summer. But this time, her assistant did some of the windows, and they were shoddy and he damaged the window sills from using so much spray and creating prolonged puddles on the sills. Rebecca acknowledged the subpar workmanship and window sill damage of the windows he worked on. She redid the films but said I should talk to Maggie the owner about how to address the damage. When I spoke to Maggie about it, she was dismissive and discrediting, saying this has never occurred in the 30 years of the business, making us feel like we were lying about this, saying things like the spray was mostly water and just a drop of some detergent when liquid is liquid, that it could be the builders fault for not sealing the sill correctly. She then proceeded to accuse my husband and me of being rude, completely out of control in anger, and calling her a liar when she was the one doing all of those things, playing the whole reverse accusation thing. She first said the adjustor would come out in 2 weeks to inspect and determine if the damage was a preexisting condition, but then as she got more angry, she said it would be 30 days. We were afraid she wouldn't follow through with her changing words, so we said we would pay 80% of the amount due now and then the rest once the job was completed and damage fixed. In response, she ordered her workers to rip off all of the window films if we didn't pay in full. So either we pay in full for an incomplete job with no reassurance that the damage will be fixed, or she would rip everything off and remove all evidence of the damage. Of note, we paid in full without any payment issues in the past, giving her no reason to doubt we would pay in full when the job was completed. Not only did we feel threatened, but the situation was really awkward with the workers who also agreed their boss was being very unreasonable and tried to talk her out of the ridiculous threat, but at the end they said they couldn't do anything about it because she was their boss. So we paid in full despite the damage. She said the adjustor would be there in 2 days. Adjustor didn't show in 2 days. I had to follow up with her again to ask when the adjustor was coming. She emailed stating her adjustor will be talking to our builder to inspect the damage and they should be contacting us "soon". 3 weeks have passed, and we have not heard from adjustor, builder, worst of all nothing from Sun-ease; no follow up, no updates, nothing. Again. Our time and energy are even more precious to us than the money they extorted from us without finishing their job. And quite honestly we are too scared to correspond with Maggie anymore; we felt demoralized, manipulated, threatened and helpless. We waited for an apology for her appalling and mercurial behavior and gave her multiple chances to fix the damages, to no avail. We therefore have decided to cut our losses and damage and move on. But we felt it was important for others to know the crazy and damaging experience we went through so no one else ends up with damaged window sills and being treated the way we were. It's the only thing we can do.

Friendly people, if you can get ahold of someone BUT I would not get a clear film protection installed on the windshield. They don't have the correct film, maybe it's the same file they use for the body - even the guy taking off the film said they don't have the correct film for the windshield. It's like looking through beer goggles while driving. Found this place on Google with top reviews, which now I'm surprised. My mom just bought a brand new Toyota and I wanted her to get the file on the windshield because of all the rocks in CO. She already had the body film protection installed from factory. Well, she called and scheduled and they said she can to wait for the car in their "new waiting room" - it will take about two to three hours. She was there probably 20 minutes and it was done She called me and said it was really blurry and the whole windshield wasn't covered only the middle part I called a few friends/places and they said depending on the temperature it might take a few days to two weeks to settle and look good. Three weeks later (I was out of state) and I finally test drove the car - it's horrible, I actually got a headache after driving for about ten minutes. I'm amazed at how bad it was and that they actually let someone drive like that for safety concerns. Not to mention an older lady. Scheduled an appointment yesterday to come in today and fix it. Well, she gets there today and the guy that was there didn't know anything about the appointment. He said even if he reinstalled the clear film, it would be the same as they don't have the correct film for the windshield. ‍‍ So he just pulled the film off and said to call Ernest for a refund. I will update this review and add a couple stars when the owner, Ernest finally calls me back and sends a refund and makes this right. Not much to say, just a bunch of wasted time on the phone and in person at this point. Update 10/19/25 The owner did call back apologized, offered a refund and to redo the windshield when the new roll of film comes in with their mobile service. Appreciate owners like this actually caring about the customers, the business reputation and owning up to what happened.

I'am sharing my experience with EJ3 Customs based on the actual work performed on my vehicle…read more I brought my new BMW in on September 29, 2025 for PPF, tint, ceramic coating, and windshield film. When I arrived, the shop appeared unclean and disorganized. There was limited staff available, and I had to speak with the owner by phone to confirm details about the job, including matching the front tint to the factory rear windows. After picking up the vehicle, several issues were immediately noticeable. The tint did not match the agreed specification, and there was visible dust and debris left after polishing. I returned multiple times to have the tint corrected, but each attempt still resulted in bubbles or contamination under the film. The PPF and ceramic coating also required rework on multiple areas. During this process, I observed damage to my vehicle, including razor blade cuts on the door and front grille. The owner acknowledged the issue and offered to repair it; however, after their attempt, the damage to the door appeared worse. An insurance claim was filed on October 30, 2025. While the claim has now been paid, the process took several months, and I am now taking my vehicle to a separate body shop for proper repairs. Additional concerns included PPF peeling on the rocker panel. Although I was told this was covered under warranty, I was unable to secure a repair appointment despite repeated follow-ups. The windshield film installation also continues to show visible quality issues. This experience required multiple visits, time off work, and ultimately outside repairs. I recommend reviewing all factors carefully before choosing this shop.
