They have a really cute farm stand with lots of pumpkins and apples around this time of the year. You also have the option on going apple picking in the orchard and see how the different apples are grown. Alan, who usually doesn't take people on a tour around the orchard, showed me around and explained all their operations throughout the year. It was really eye opening to the farming industry around this region (compared to California where it never stops). Picked up some apples and cider, enjoyed the fall colors before driving through the back route where you can see the Boston skyline from quite a distance. Definitely recommend the non-touristy experience here.

Just pulling in the driveway takes you away from it all, you can see the beautiful flowers and produce in the fields, flags flapping in the breeze. Despite being small, Indian Head Farm has a lot to offer. You can select local plants-perennials, vegetable plants and more on the front porch and in the greenhouse. The best items available here are the berries! In early summer they have strawberries and then come the blueberries, & the black, red, and Golden raspberries-impossible to pick a favorite. You can find the already picked half pints and pints in the store or you can pick your own. The nice thing about Indian Head Farm is that there are no other distractions or amusements besides picking. So if you have children with you and want a much quicker in an out than at some other local farms where you can end up being there all day, this is a great place to go. IHF has their own farm grown vegetables as well as some brought in from local farms. They also offer regional honey, their own jams and jellies, as well as some nuts, dried fruit and frozen fruits & pies. You can also purchase regional cheeses and even birdseed. If you are lucky and arrive when they have their fresh muffins right out of the oven make sure you treat yourself, they are delightful. COVID-19 Note: This is a very small storefront but they have done a great job of making sure everyone is safe. I ended up getting the smaller bag which held enough apples for me to make an apple pie, apple crisp, and still have around 8 apples to eat!

The size of the bags are odd though....I got a bag that was supposed to fit 16 and it only fit 5. Huh?? Just readjust your expectations. They also have a hayride that takes you on a tour through the orchard and he talks about the history of it. Make sure you sit near the speaker since it's hard to hear over the engine. The store was stocked with the obvious. Apple cider, apple butter, caramel apples. There's also a little food truck outside. ALL fried foods so don't expect anything healthy. Mangos were 99¢ to $1.39 depending on size, a full pint of blueberries were $2.99, plantains were 3/$1, 4 mini cucumbers ended up being $1, tomatoes were $2.99 where folks at other stores charge double for the same thing!! I can't quote you on all the prices accurately, but if you know your fruits and veggies the way I do, you'll notice that the prices are generally 20-50% lower than other stores. Also - FRESH dates. Yeah. My American ignorance was challenged today, folks. I'm glad. The owner gave me one to try and it was great! I'm specifically writing this review because I really really want this business to thrive. Please go visit!!
