This is a nice, low-key orchard that is family friendly and has all the standard apple picking amenities. It was $30 for a smaller bag and $40 for the larger bag of apples if you pick your own which was a little more expensive than I expected but they did have a free wagon ride to the orchard. I also got some donuts which were pretty cheap and very good and they had farm animals which were fun to see. I ended up getting the smaller bag which held enough apples for me to make an apple pie, apple crisp, and still have around 8 apples to eat! read more

Super cute family orchard and farm store. Was it supposed to go apple picking where a tractor goes and brings you to the orchards. It cost $40 for a bushel and $30 for a peck so we decided to get bag of apples for $20 something. It was a little expensive so we just bought the bag of apples. Also got some delicious apple cider donuts which were $6 for six pieces and bought a pumpkin which was $0.60 per pound. I bought some popcorn and honey. There is also a petting zoo and I'd loved seeing the animals which was really the highlight of this place. read more

Yaaaasssss. This is what an Apple Orchard is all about, the apple products. Their Cider donuts are the best I've had in my travels (two years in a row!) and I've eaten a lot because I've done cider donut tours. They have a really nice crisp on the outside and the taste is so fresh. If you can get a fresh batch, it's even better. They also do Apple Slushies and crisps, all the apple products are super tasty, but the donuts at $1/per are such a good deal. We went real basic and hit up the orchard as well. Really pretty and picturesque orchard, you'll have plenty of Instagram photo ops. Apples are really tasty as well, just made a pie with 4 cortland and 1 mutsu and it turned out perfect. As long as the donuts stay this tasty, will be back every year for them. read more

This review is for the farm store only. (I did not go apple picking.) The store itself is not that large and sells mainly apple related products (apples, cider, doughnuts, crisps etc.) The cider doughnuts ($1/each) are good considering that they have sugar on them. (My favorite cider doughnuts are from Russell Orchards.) There is ample parking and there is an open space to enjoy the doughnuts. Staff is friendly and do not rush you. read more

Wow this is what all apple orchards should be like. This place hasn't been commercialized or overly priced. Simple farm, simple apples, simple fall family fun! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The very nice man driving the tractor helped get my daughters stroller on and off the hayride. The orchard is massive. This farm is amazing! The family running this farm are all exceptional ppl! They are so nice, welcoming and every family member seems to be on top of making sure that theor patrons are happy. The apples are ample, full and not too picked over like other farms. People are also kindly ushered on their haywagon with respect to the covid rules, so its perfect! I saw 2 ppl who continuously cleaned every few mins, so they are most def staying on top of cleaning and etc.. the apple cider donuts and cider slushies are delicious! Everything about this orchard was PERFECT! At first I felt a bit of disappointment pulling into the lot so empty... then I walked in an purchased a small bag (holding over 20 apples)... everything from the moment on was AMAZING! A short but lovely wagon ride to the apple trees, then very clearly defined directions for specific apples we love... at that point, my 9 yr old son and I had a blast in the fields. As though the only ones around! The apples were beautiful and scrumptious! When WE felt the time was up, we reboarded the wagon and headed back. That's when we had a very clean hand washing station to greet us, surrounded by the most beautiful autumn flowers of Massachusetts... we went inside the little country store, FAMILY owned and operated. Ordered the most flavorful, moist (yet perfectly crisp on the outside) apple cider doughnuts... not done yet... we came across there animals... although small in quantity, this is where the experience REALLY began. The owners daughter, no older then my middle age son (15), came over ever so graciously and began explaining the story of each and every animal... you could see the passion and love on her eyes! That made every second of this "day trip" FAR more special for me and MY SON, then ANYTHING I could have asked for! My SINCERE gratitude to the BERLIN ORCHARDS for doing it ALL RIGHT! Hit the Holy Grail of apple orchards!! I am a firm believer of supporting local business and this one offered an Amazing adventure for the entire family. Young and old will be delighted with the activities in store for you here. Oh yeah and let me tell you about the quality and variety of the apples. Soooo darn delicious!! You can buy a bag to pick 1 peck at $25 or $35 for half a bushel. Unlike the larger orchards they don't limit how many people can go to the orchard per bag. Then the journey begins with a fun tractor ride out to the orchards. Once you arrive the rows are all clearly marked by variety. My past apple picking experience was always mediocre apples available to the public. Here your eyes will bug out of your head when you see 5" Mutsu and Jonagold apples! The kids will love the adorable animals to pet Donkeys, goats , pigs, an emu and llama round out the farm. Of course don't forget to complete your visit with their yummy apple cider donuts! Went here this weekend and had a wonderful time. We were here to celebrate a child's birthday in the picnic area. The kids loved the barnyard animals. They had pony rides there for $5. A Small bag (1 peck) of apples was $15, and a Large bag is $25. This beats Tougas Farm prices by $5 a bag. Pros: it was a lot less crowded here! Cons: Tougas still beats Berlin Orchards when it comes to apple cider donuts. We also got a hayride to the apple picking area which was fun. Definitely worth a visit. (A word of caution: do not feed the horses here. They may be beautiful, but they bite! Just obey the signs and look at these lovely creatures from a distance.) read more

Berlin Orchards is the real deal. The combination of the BEST apples, beautiful setting, and the nicest people make this my top destination every fall. I've tried all the other places and they are good but don't come close to the quality of apples, setting and people at Berlin. Berlin Orchards is a small family run business which takes care to produce the finest apples year after year. It is beautiful and I am always so grateful that the true fall experience can be had here. This is a great family destination: there are hayrides to the orchard, pumpkin patch, face painting, apple crisp (see website for more). It is NOT a crowded, commercialized fall destination with difficulty parking. I'm sure when you try it you will agree that multiple visits are the way to go. My husband and I drove off Cape yesterday for another appointment and had planned to try Berlin Orchards for our yearly apple picking. We grew very tired of the militant attitudes at Tougas not to mention thousands of people pushing, screaming, crying...well, the weather didn't cooperate yesterday but we went to the farm store at Berlin Orchards because I had to have Apple Cider Donuts! The absolute sweetest woman waited on us! We bought Honeycrisp, Cortland, and Jonagold apples, and a bag of donuts...the best Apple Cider Donut I have ever had (and I have had a lot!) and even the Honeycrisp apples tasted more delicious! We saw their incredibly cute animals! So we didn't make it to the orchards to pick, but soooo glad we discovered Berlin Orchards! We will be going there next year! read more

A friend of mine grew up going to this orchard as a kid and always had fond memories of it. She took us there last weekend and it did not disappoint! Berlin Orchards is huge with the most varieties of apples of any orchard I've ever been to. The property is pretty big and spread out - there's a farm with animals, a small gift shop, ice cream stand, the orchard and pumpkin patch, and acres of rolling fields. They have a hayride that takes you out to the orchard, which is both fun and practical since it's a little bit of a walk to get to the apples from the main part of the farm. I highly recommend sneakers or some sort of boots since the ground in the orchard is uneven and can be rocky in some spots. I wore the wrong shoes (ballet flats! what was I thinking?!) and I was pretty sore and dirty by the time we left. A light jacket might be necessary if you're walking around for a while on a particularly chilly day. And definitely be prepared to walk, especially if you're looking for a rare or specialty apple. I really like Honey Crisp apples and those were a little bit of a hike to get to since they were at the furthest end of the orchard. The great thing about Berlin Orchards is that they take credit cards everywhere on their property, including the gift shop and ice cream stand. I also highly recommend getting some of their hot, freshly baked apple cider donuts. They melt in your mouth and have chunks of fresh apples in them! This was by far the best orchard I've been to and it was a fantastic way to kick off the fall season in New England! read more

The best place to pick apples in Central MA. You can check their web site to find out what apples are ripe. Every weekend they have hay rides, and the tractor driver balances an apple on his head while he drives! Inside their barn they have apples you can buy (without picking), and all kinds of locally produced items. The owner is often there and they are all able to tell you what kind of apples are best for baking, eating, or whatever you need. My kids love to play in the little play houses and get their faces painted there. We make sure to go often during the Fall. read more

I visited Berlin Orchards for the first time in late Fall of 2017. What a gem of a place! Drove out routes 117 and 62 from Boston-nice scenery and the countryside around Berlin is particularly nice for a foliage drive. Berlin Orchard's selection and variety of apples is great and they are reasonably priced.The cider donuts were the best that I've ever tasted.I purchased the apples & donuts in the store-I didn't go on the apple ride trailer but the folks who were on it looked like they were having great fun.There are some animals as well and a couple of little houses for kids to play in-plenty of things to keep children busy. My favorite thing about the place is the family that owns it....Gerard and his wife Sheila and their 10 lovely children are so friendly and genuinely appreciative of their customers.The older kids were helping out and the younger ones were playing and having great fun.It reminded me of growing up on a farm in Ireland. They were such a delight to be around! I will definitely pay a visit every Autumn and highly recommend it-well worth the drive from Boston and a nice way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.... read more

To do Berlin Orchard justice I'll do a comparison between that and Belkin Family Lookout farm in Natick, which we visited last weekend. Belkin Family Lookout: a million people. Big line just to get a bag to go picking, then realize not only do you pay $36 for the half bushel bag, you have to buy a ticket for each person in the party. So with 2 adults and 3 kids, we pay $110 to a half bushel bag, which is the size of a normal grocery shopping bag. The tickets give the kiddos access to a couple of bubble bouncy things but my boys are too big for that now. Since we had traveled out there I suck it up and just pay the crazy price. But then we discover we have to wait in a giant line just to get on the golf cart train to get to the orchard. That's the last straw, I get a refund and buy apples in the store, which were decent apples I will say. Berlin Orchards: About 20 minutes further from the south shore. $35 for a half bushel bag, still pricey it seems to me. Hopped on the hay ride which takes about 5 minutes to get to the orchard, which was fun with a friendly driver and added a nice touch to the atmosphere. The hay rides are continually running with no wait and no extra cost, though the orchard is very close so you could also easily walk to it. The orchards seemed endless with a big variety of tasty apples: Cortland, Gala, Macintosh and several other types. They also have some farm animals and a small store to check out. Friendly people, great experience. Winner: hands down it's the Berlin Orchards. read more

The hay ride to the orchard was done by the friendly and helpful Bertie - the driver who balanced apples on his head as he drove. (Yes, two apples, and he smiled the entire time.) This is a small farm which clearly shows its appreciation for you being there. Unlike Tougas, I didn't feel like I was being preached to every step of the way. Additionally, the quality of the fruit was excellent ! Very little bug damage, and huge fruit! The only complaint I have is that they closed a bit early. 5pm. The cider doughnuts are the best I have ever had. A ten pound bag of apples was $20 and 20 pounds was $30. Slightly more expensive than other places, but it makes-up for it in quality. read more

The orchard itself was great, but the animal pen... I was disgusted. Animal feces everywhere, no food, water with feces in it, and you could smell ammonia. The animals looked half dead, and a goats spine was sticking out, and was underweight. I used to help on a farm and it was ridiculous, how easy it was to fill water and clean. Disgusted. read more

Beautiful ! The hayride to the orchard goes along the horse paddock. Lots of varieties of apples and everyone on the staff was super nice. Not too crowded.
