Have Parkinson's and needed help printing my taxes. Went to the Countryside Library to get use of the tons of tax dollars I help pay to support this expensive complex. After ruining a complete copy trying to print two sided. The librarians told me I couldn't print two sided. So, I went to Office Depot where the Manager took the time to help me print my taxes for less than I just spent at my local library to ruin a copy. read more

This library is tucked away in a residential area near SR 580 and Countryside Blvd. Its suburban surroundings definitely contribute to the calm and relaxing vibe this library has. While not the largest library in the county, it is definitely the most modern. The library is well lit, with lots of natural light and lots of outlets. There are also study rooms available to reserve. The staff is kind and helpful. The patrons here are also very respectful and unobtrusive. There also is a lobby area where you can eat food and fill up your water bottle with filtered water. I wish all the libraries in the county had this amenity! I really like this library I always come with my toddler & the library has so much to offer children! They have a couple classes geared specifically for dancing/reading/crafts. Their library for the littles is set up with several computers, one is a special one that is touch screen & has so many kids learning activities on it. My daughter loves drawing with it, but it covers a lot material i.e. if your child wanted to practice a subject or even learn typing skills. They put the effort in here. There are themes so if a holiday is approaching there's coloring sheets put out for kiddos, as well as other thoughtful snippets to tie into. For example, Poetry month was April (I think?) & they put out poetry books on display & had poems to take home. So cute! I haven't explored the rest of the library by myself but I've noticed there's plenty of reading nooks to get cozy with a book & lots of natural lighting. I'm looking forward to trying out their summer adult workshops! I use their App often to put books on hold for the family. It works smoothly & I can see what I've checked out & what needs to be returned. The staff are not bingo aged (as someone else mentioned), there's a good mix here & they have all been helpful & polite in my experience. I use their App often to put books on hold for the family. Not too happy with my first overall impression of the staff. I was rudely singled out by Sue who told me that because of COVID-19, I'm not supposed to be on the computer for longer than 1 hour and she asked me to leave. I don't know if this is a Countryside Library rule, but most libraries actually permit 180 minutes from what I've noticed. The computers are spaced 1 every other understandably for Covid. She said that it was unfair to the other patrons. If I could be frank, given my better judgement since there were absolutely no patrons at the computers or shortage thereof, there was just no reason to approach someone and tell them they have to leave because of COVID-19. And this is without faulter, no wrong in my doing, just me by myself at the computer. So much for pleasantness and how to treat your neighbor, or property taxes I pay for that matter. One thing i would strongly recommend is not to trust your gps to much if trying to find this place. Its quit hidden. Be sure to follow the signs in this area to be able to actually find the library. Looks nice though. read more

This library looks small on the outside, but I was surprised that it's as stuffed as a burrito inside. I've gotten the impression that Tampa Bay libraries don't put emphasis on books. Instead, there's a diarrhea selection of all books--one of the most rows of books I've seen in a Pinellas or Hillsborough library so far. Unfortunately, the children's area and magazine section are rather small. There's less than 20 computers, but it was still the busiest area there... geez, people don't want to read anymore? There's also multiple rooms inside to host small meetings and other events. The bingo-aged staff was very nice and helpful to me. The entire library is very inviting, as evidenced by the many kids browsing around there and people studying. PYRA SAYS: One of the better Tampa Bay libraries for hospitality and books. But since people just want to go on the computers, it's not the best for that. read more

Closed 2-3 for sanitizing! Otherwise it is a great library with very helpful staff! I live in Clearwater not San Francisco but whatever!

This (approx.) one month old library replaced the branch that was located in 2741 State Rd 580. At just a short 3 minute drive away from Westfield Countryside Mall, this new location looks promising (and clean). When you first walked in, to the right you have the bathrooms, meeting room (which according to the website you can reserve ahead online), and a multi purpose room that had seating for up to like 10-12 people. To the left, you have the computer areas (with about 16-20 computers), young adult section and study rooms. There are also various nifty machines, which i am guessing are for checking out books (Not very helpful i know... but once i find out i will report back). My favorite library in Pinellas Country so far was Safety Harbor because of the private study rooms but the planning was a bit off seeing that they were right next to the Teen area (which can get a bit rowdy at times). In this new countryside branch, you don't encounter this because the young adult section is closed off, away from the study area and they have their own space to be -- with a long bar height reading area, various computers, rows and rows of books (probably catered to that age group) and sit down areas to read. Since i was a first timer here, i went to the front desk where they were very nice and escorted me to the study area. Usually it is 2 hours max but I then proceeded to ask her if i could renew after my 2 hours were up (since i planned being there from open to closing time studying). Since there were 4 more vacant study rooms, she just told me to keep studying and she would just let me know. They have about 6 private study rooms right (with multiple electrical plugs) next to the general computer area ( Two of the study rooms are for 1-2 people, One of the study rooms is for 5 people, and the remaining two study rooms fit up to around 10 people) but although mostly glass separates you from them, you can hardly hear talking from outside or from other study rooms. The study room almost adjacent to mine (019) had a class of about 6 adorable children and i could not hear a thing. i kid you not. The only downside is that within my study room (018), i could hear a low constant noise (which i am guessing is from part of the A/C but you cannot hear it outside study room 018). Also mostly glass separates you so if you are easily distracted (as i am), you might want to face away from the general computer area. So in general, what i love about this library is that i have not encountered any 'bums', the study rooms are closed off away from potential noise, and everyone is considerate by maintaining a 'library' noise level. This definitely looks like a library i will be visiting habitually. read more

Quality Very Good One of the better libraries in Pinellas County. They have a great selection of everything, especially DVDs. Lines can be a little long at the automated check out but it's okay. Also, the small area for books for sale are really cheap! read more

Super friendly people working. You can pickup your holds yourself without having to ask someone to get it for you. Self-checkout is the only way to checkout. First time there I made the mistake of walking up to the gal behind the counter because it seemed rude to choose self-checkout over talking to the person working and she told me I *had* to self-checkout at the automated kiosk. Awesome! One time I was having a senior moment and couldn't find the barcode on my book, someone came over and helped me without having to ask. The inside is a little depressing in a worn, dirty kind of way but being able to get your own holds, the self check out and the people working make this location way more enjoyable than the Safety Harbor branch. read more

No. I won't go back. Yes, the new building is nice, but parking is minimal as it is shared with the rec center. Plus, now they have placed from 4 to 6 wide speed bumps along the quarter mile to the library on Sabal Rd. Once inside, where are the employees? Outside of the young librarian with light red hair, no one smiles. No one looks up. The last time I was there is the last time I will go as I tried to put a book on hold but the computer kept freezing. I finally got it working but it would not allow me to choose a specific book. An employee with a name tag hanging around her neck came by and I told her what was happening and could she help. She told me that the computers are working fine and to try again as she walked away!! Seriously?!?! I now go to Safety Harbor Library and the difference is night and day in a wonderful way! read more
