It had been decades since I last used a public library--and even longer since I had a library card. But this past year I've been fully in my "books and Kindle era," and while I love physical books, I didn't want to start hoarding more since I've already run out of bookshelf space. Minimalist problems So I finally decided to get a library card. I completed the application online back in December but didn't make it in until March. When I arrived, the process couldn't have been easier. The librarian simply looked me up in the system, handed me my card, and even pointed me in the direction of my next thriller read. She was incredibly helpful, and the whole experience was quick and seamless--I honestly wish I had done it sooner. As mentioned, it is a smaller library, but that hasn't been an issue at all. You can easily search for and request books, eBooks, and audiobooks online through the Hillsborough Library app and the Libby app, which makes everything super convenient. Overall, such a positive experience and a great reminder of how valuable our local libraries are!

I also LOVE that the building is painted with a mural of a Wild Flamingo. I love Flamingos, I'm a photographer & love to photograph nature, especially flamingos. I'm also a Chef, Homeopathic practitioner and Herbalist, focusing on using plants & natural remedies to heal and create potions OuiOui. I love to grow my own herbs, editable and medicinal plants. Herbs for culinary, medicinal & therapeutic purposes. I make all my own medicines & a lot of my own essential oils so I do tons of research, read & garden a lot every day. And now I have found the perfect "la vie en rose" library with a flamingo in Palm Harbor. I'm also making all my own recipes, making all my own compost, fertilizer & Organic dirt. So lately, I have been researching the local plants & medicinal herbs/trees, plants that grow best here. I want to plant a Boswellia tree. (If anyone local has one planted already, drop me a message & tell me how it's going. haha. Thanks in Advance.) In the meantime, I will keep reading all the cool "Dr Chef" books that are filled with all the knowledge & wisdom i'm seeking, from Palm Harbor Library. Will Return. Highest Recommendations.

Blink and you'll miss it…read more Hugging the west coast of Florida at St. Joseph Sound 4 miles north of Dunedin and about 1 mile south of Palm Harbor is a hidden Pinellas County gem. Folks traveling along ALT 19 pay no attention while they're caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily automobile traffic. If people slow down a bit, and hit the Pinellas trail, the old rail line bulges west just north of Curlew and harkens back to a more simple time. The first home built here was in 1875, and as more folks settled in Florida during the golden citrus years, this village saw sleepy prosperity with its orange groves and fishing wharfs buzzing with activity. Tampa Road, which originated here, was the first paved road leading into Tampa, directly connecting the big city with Oldsmar, Dundein, Palm Harbor and Ozona. Things are obviously much different now. The village is quiet, laid back and the vibe is a kin to Cedar Key on a Monday night. They've got their own post office, a BBQ joint, pizzeria, pub and plenty of coastal property to catch a sunset. To me, this place is far removed from traffic, tourism, unexploited, raw and uncut--pure Florida. I absolutely love it. Oh, and all streets are golf cart friendly.

Maybe not all 5 star dining, but damn good cracker food. When you visit make sure you check out the local shops, restaurants & bars, you won't be disappointed. What's a girl to do? Love, love quaint coastal towns, haven't met one yet, I didn't fall in love with!

There is one particular very unfriendly woman that works here that is always a pain to deal with. Since things have gotten better at the libraries in the last few weeks, we finally were able to go back and visit. Plus side was my daughter was able to get her own library card. The young lady that helped us with my daughter's card was super sweet and friendly!! The take home crafts are cute too, though I think the library can stand to make the craft more wholesome and more educational. A pokemon craft isn't very learning based! What's disappointing is the emptiness of the libraries. They need to put the tables and children's accessories back in the kids room. There is nothing to be afraid and no reason these items are still being withheld from the children!! The park at the end of the building is an excellent addition for kids. Also outside the library is a pond to walk around and a big field to play sports.
