Every time we caught big fish or harvested an elk or deer we stopped and Emma and Stu would take a picture and put it on the wall with years of other photos... They were so will stocked I rarely had to run to Lewiston for any sporting goods equipment. I would call Emma on my dad's birthday and buy him a gift certificate for gas for his boat...I mean what else do you get the guy who has everything? I knew the old owners sold the business but I continued to purchase from this business out of loyalty when I would come home. My career didn't make it possible to live there anymore. Through the last few years, since the new ownership took over I have watched an icon of my home town dwindle away. I still supported their business. However, that has changed. The day before yesterday we took my boyfriend's mother into get her hunting license. We wanted to take her grouse hunting. When I walked in the door I noticed a lot of the old pictures were gone. Then I noticed their inventory was low. As we checked out with the hunting license I asked if they had a restroom. I knew they had one but I wanted to ask to use it. The young man at the counter (who I later found out is the owners son) told he didn't have a restroom. I really had pee...really bad...I said you used to have a bathroom because Stu and Emma used to let me use it. He replied "we aren't jerks like Stu and Emma and you're not the one who has to clean the shit up when people come in and make a mess". I was not impressed with his customer service skills...it was to the point I had to tell the cashier that I was teasing him and he was still belligerent. My boyfriend even had to comment after because of the cashier's attitude issues. He said " you seem a little sensitive" to which the cashier replied..."Not really"...glad Subway is next-door so I didn't pee my pants... I don't remember Stu and Emma having to worry about their customers use of the restroom. Maybe it's a reflection of the way people feel about your business... Oh P.S. it's against your agreement with your credit card authorization company to charge me a fee to use a credit card...but you already knew that...classy...

Our group of 16 adventurous women experienced the thrill of Class III and IV rapids while surrounded by some of the most breathtaking scenery I've ever seen. We were accompanied by five exceptional young men who were the epitome of true gentlemen. They took amazing care of us every step of the way--preparing five-star breakfasts, lunches, and dinners complete with appetizers and delicious desserts, setting up our tents, sharing fascinating history about the river, and, most importantly, keeping us safe on the water. Their professionalism, kindness, and hard work made the trip even more memorable. Each day brought incredible wildlife sightings, including bald eagles soaring overhead, ospreys, an otter, great blue herons, merganssers, and bighorn sheep. Evenings were spent relaxing around camp with great food, plenty of adult beverages, wonderful conversation, and sleeping under a sky full of stars. The rapids were exhilarating, the scenery was spectacular, the company was unforgettable, and the memories will last a lifetime. Thank you, Mackay Wilderness River Trips, for an experience I'll never forget. It truly was the adventure of a lifetime!

My expectations for the weekend were blown out of the water (literally) in the first ten minutes on the jet boat ride. I don't think we stopped smiling for 3 days. I can't imagine a more beautiful setting for a wedding if rivers and mountains hold a piece of your heart. The staff was incredibly fun and accommodating. Dax is the cutest 6 year old host you'll ever meet and I felt almost no stress before the wedding because I knew Joni had everything under control. If you want a wild jet boat ride, jump on Bucks boat ;) Mackay Bar is truly a hidden gem in Idaho. All of my friends and family are texting me that we forever ruined their expectation of a wedding. Sunset horseback rides, fishing, hiking and phenomenal food. I am forever grateful for our wedding weekend and Mackay Bar and we are plotting to get back there as soon as possible.

Wind calmed down to a breeze for about 5 minutes total all day; in short windy conditions. Joe handled the boat expertly despite heavy winds. The bite was a little slow in the am, but a little later we were all catching fish like nobody's business! All my questions were answered. I learned a lot about CJ Strike and fishing in general. in summary, despite adverse conditions we slaughtered the fish, harvesting well over 100 black and white crappy. My portions of the fillets was the heaviest bag I ever held. I recommend Jones Sport Fishing 110 %

Our trip was set for Bass but allowed time for other catch.  It was my first time fishing on a quality boat. The boat was very stable even with 4 men standing on the same side to fish at the same time.  It was going to be a hot day but where we fished in the morning was in the shade by awesome high cliffs. Joe Weisner is a very knowledgeable and very patient guide. For a first timers he put us on the fish. He provided quality rods, reels and all the lures. Joe was patient. The trip included a grilled lunch on a shaded shore that also allowed us time to dip in the water on this hot day. I hope to come back next summer or possibly sooner
