The main project was to replace more than two dozen rotting boards and the steps on our 20-year-old deck, ensure the structural integrity of the deck, and jack up a corner of the deck that had sunk a couple of inches. He also power-washed the deck and the siding of the house that faced the deck. We also needed work done indoors. He repaired a door frame to a bedroom, fixed a broken storm door, replaced marble tile in our foyer, installed a missing sliding closet door, and procured and installed beautiful luxury plank vinyl flooring for a bedroom. He communicated clearly with us throughout every project, made suggestions when he saw something that needed improvement, and always checked with us when a decision needed to be made. In every situation, he did high-quality work in a very timely fashion. Detailed Summary of My Experience: I contacted Jim initially just to get an estimate for finishing my basement, which was in a state that needed major work because the walls were made of cinderblock and the floors were complete concrete; it was a space that was probably best used for storage and I would not call it "comfortably livable." Jim arrived quickly for an estimate and helped me explore the possibilities of the space, even going so far as to note what would be difficult or expensive to pull off. Within days he provided an estimate for the job, which I found out during the process was a major ordeal involving many phases and individuals, so I'm impressed he was able to produce a price so quickly (and in the end it was an accurate price). I signed Jim up for the job because of his straightforward and pleasant attitude. In the weeks and months that followed (this was a major job, I want to note), Jim gave me frequent updates about what workers I could expect to come by and when/how-long they would be there. Every person who came onto the property was skilled and good about communicating what they would be working on, especially when they had questions about the possibilities of the space. Jim also handled all of the work involving the permits and he worked with the county to ensure everything was up to code. He also alerted me any time there was a change in plans or if there was a possibility of delay. Given how involved this basement-finish job was, there were plenty of opportunities for major hurdles, but the project was still completed in a timely manner, and it was always clear to me what was going on, what would happen next, etc. The final product is everything I could've wanted. Jim made efficient use of the space to make as much of it "comfortably livable" as possible. Even the water heater and HVAC unit were relocated with no diminishment in functionality just for the sake of making the basement as good as it could possibly be. I'm very pleased with the additional space my family has been given, and there isn't a single rough edge in the room. However, nothing worked so he came the next day and brought a new hydraulic brake for the storm door. Chris tried hard to not have to replace the existing brake, but in the end, it had to be replaced. I can't say enough good things about Chris. He genuinely wants to help you without having you spend a lot of money. I really appreciate that. It's rare to find someone who would rather help you for free over the phone than to have you spend money if possible. That speaks volumes about Chris. He is very knowledgeable about the structure of your home being a contractor. He is highly skilled, very friendly and very reasonable. Last year, I needed some repairs done to my condo, including some wall and flooring work when I had…read moreto replace old heating-A/C convectors. Weder and team did a wonderful job. They closed all the holes in the walls (no more air coming in) where the old convectors were located; they repaired the flooring so that it looked seamless; and they installed baseboards to mask the gaps left by the new convectors, which were a slightly different size than the previous ones. (The convectors were installed by a different company, so they coordinated with them nicely). They also installed a brand-new lighting fixture on the bedroom ceiling (lots of concrete drilling involved), hung a metal shelf in the bathroom, and closed all the holes in the kitchen left by the previous contractor when the kitchen was remodeled. No more mice! Wonderful service, punctual, and would happily call again for anything else I may need.

12/24/2025 - VKB completes my bathroom renovation…read more 1/12/2026 - I raise an issue with the bathroom floor showing clear issues with the flooring. Stepping on the bathroom shower floor makes loud squishing noises, and bubbles rise out from the tile. 1/12/2026 - Service call is officially requested from VKB. 1/14/2026 - VKB emails me telling me the crew is coming next day for the service call (no confirming with me if I'll even be home, or actually scheduling with me). 1/15/2026 - Contractor removes some of the shower floor grouting and grouts again. 2/16/2026 - VKB project manager follows up to see if the issue was resolved. I say no, it's getting worse, and provide comprehensive photo proof of the issue 2/19/2026 - Project manager comes and looks at the issue. Indicates in person he clearly thinks it's a problem, but it seems he's being pressured to not deal with it. 2/20/2026 - I follow up via email with VKB with video and more picture evidence of the cracking grout and bubbles. 2/24/2026 - I request photos of project from PM which he NEVER sends me. 2/27/2026 - I follow up again, VKB continues to drag their feet. 3/13/2026 (approximately) - VKB sends out contractor. Once again, contractor regrouts impacted areas (this doesn't seem to fix the issue still). As time goes on, grout continues to rapidly degrade and shower file continues to shift and sink into the flooring. I have called multiple times in the last week, but seem to be getting the runaround. I sunk approximately $20,000 into this project and there are clear issues that ruin the integrity of the bathroom VKB is not properly correcting. To top it all off, there's other issues we're having that I'm not even asking them to address.
