Quick Summary: Jim runs an exceptionally professional business, and I would gladly hire him again…read morefor any job to improve my household. He is an excellent communicator, and his workers were not only courteous but very skilled at their respective jobs. He was able to finish my basement in a timely manner with high-quality materials. I could not be happier with the work Brown's Custom Contracting did within my home. Detailed Summary of My Experience: I contacted Jim initially just to get an estimate for finishing my basement, which was in a state that needed major work because the walls were made of cinderblock and the floors were complete concrete; it was a space that was probably best used for storage and I would not call it "comfortably livable." Jim arrived quickly for an estimate and helped me explore the possibilities of the space, even going so far as to note what would be difficult or expensive to pull off. Within days he provided an estimate for the job, which I found out during the process was a major ordeal involving many phases and individuals, so I'm impressed he was able to produce a price so quickly (and in the end it was an accurate price). I signed Jim up for the job because of his straightforward and pleasant attitude. In the weeks and months that followed (this was a major job, I want to note), Jim gave me frequent updates about what workers I could expect to come by and when/how-long they would be there. Every person who came onto the property was skilled and good about communicating what they would be working on, especially when they had questions about the possibilities of the space. Jim also handled all of the work involving the permits and he worked with the county to ensure everything was up to code. He also alerted me any time there was a change in plans or if there was a possibility of delay. Given how involved this basement-finish job was, there were plenty of opportunities for major hurdles, but the project was still completed in a timely manner, and it was always clear to me what was going on, what would happen next, etc. The final product is everything I could've wanted. Jim made efficient use of the space to make as much of it "comfortably livable" as possible. Even the water heater and HVAC unit were relocated with no diminishment in functionality just for the sake of making the basement as good as it could possibly be. I'm very pleased with the additional space my family has been given, and there isn't a single rough edge in the room. Jim's guys are the best and I highly recommend his service to anyone looking to improve their homes. I have included pictures of the job before and after just so you can see the quality of work.

We hired Brown's for the rebuild of our deck after moving into our new home. It took a while to…read morecoordinate a time to meet with Jim, but he was very professional right from the start and provided the most competitive pricing for the job. As a property manager myself, I appreciated his clean contracting process - he'll print out two copies so both you and he can sign, he'll document the down payment amount and check number (and sign), he'll get his insurance agent to provide you with a COI right after, and keep you updated regularly throughout the project and will document any change orders with updated payment schedules. Our deck project became complicated by obvious grading/drainage issues and sunken footers at the adjacent porch that the deck is flush to, which caused our project cost to increase significantly. Some would say that the change in scope is a pricing tactic, and maybe it is for some, but not Jim. He carefully explained and showed us the issues, then helped prioritize them so we knew what really needed to be addressed and what could wait. His sub was great - always on time, productive as hell, and maintained a tidy worksite. You could tell the sub really cared about their work and Jim made it a point to stop by to check in. The end result is a beautiful deck that we cannot wait to furnish and use. The experience with Jim was so great that we will call him when we're ready to bid out our master bath and kitchen reno. He's a good human.

We had new floor put in with previous unleveled floors. A new professional door custom installed. And last but not least new windows were installed. Prices were reasonable, crew was professional and very considerate of our home. One important note--- the project manager is always available by phone. Always! That gave me a great deal of confidence. I would like to mention Raul by name because he was polite, professional, hard working, and came up with new ways to solve a problem. We are very happy with all our renovations!!!

Contracted to rpl Front Entry Door with Sidelights and rear Patio French Doors. Price was thousands cheaper than Xxxx-Creek and Energy Wizard's price included removal of front wrought iron railings with Colonial style with hand rails ( see pics). Installers led by Rich with Jimmy and Anthony did a spectacular & meticulous job. They removed the front entrance Fipon molding and reused. I witness Rich being particular on at least 10 different items that most contractors would have bypassed (shims, old rotten casingheadet fixes, molding repairs, etc, etc. Jimmy and Leo back day 2 on the railings. Jimmy on day 3 to complete the attention to details rai

After entertaining a few very different deck companies that were either extremely too expensive or…read morewasn't skillful enough for the job, I kind of gave up trying to restore my deck. I knew my deck needed some TLC but I didn't know exactly what it needed or where to turn. After my sabbatical, I did a google search and magically they appeared - We Restore Decks popped up. I thought, wow - this place might actually be able to help me. I put a call in and spoke to the office manager, Megan aka Miss Friendly Customer Service Pants - Herself! She thoroughly listened to my deck concerns and immediately scheduled Morgan to come out and give me an estimate. SN: she encouraged my habit of including several emojis throughout my emails and that made me like her that much more! She's extremely personable! A few days later, Morgan came out to measure and take a closer look at my deck. He broke down all of the necessary steps that would be required to have my deck looking in pristine condition. Morgan was also extremely customer service oriented. I also found him to be extremely wise - he's a Washington Redskins fan like myself! (wink) He sent me a very reasonable estimate that night and Megan contacted me a few days later to put down a deposit and walk me through the next steps. Since treating a deck is weather dependent and they had a few jobs ahead of me, I couldn't get my work done ASAP, which was fine by me because we're in the middle of a Pandemic and I have nothing but time on my hands, plus I had to get my HOA's approval. In the mean and between time, I was able to reach out to Megan with any lingering questions that remained. Another little nugget of customer service that I appreciated was that every time I received an email from We Restore Decks, they included all of the steps my deck was going to receive while being restored. It was never any question of what was going to be done, what to expect next, or the process because it was all written down in black and white. Of course the guys were there to answer any questions I had or go over any final details, but I still had an understanding of the process prior to them even coming out. I received a text and email before the on-site staff came out (not hired contractors...which was a huge plus) so I was able to remove any items that would be in the way from my deck. The guys came out and after day 1 I was hugely impressed! John, To'Mas and Kevin worked wonders on my deck! My deck looked like a totally new deck. After day 2, my deck looked like I was cheating on it with a newer deck! I am extremely pleased with my deck and couldn't have asked for a better company to do the job. I can now entertain and relax on my deck with ease and comfort! A HUGE THANK YOU to the entire staff at We Restore Decks for making this project such an easy and painless process! If I could, I'd give them 10 stars!
