We were checked in and set up with gear in no time. We purchased the Elite package and were set up with a face guard, 500 balls each, canisters to hold our balls, and a paintball gun. We had one referee who guided us between compounds all day. Started off slow and easy and progressively worked up to more complex setups. Our group grew throughout the day. We started off with about a dozen on the first group and by the last one we had about fifty. We were all pretty much exhausted by that point, and wrapped up about four hours later. A few bruises, but no broken bones and we all had a blast. Would come back again.

The CIAA Bowling Tournament was held at B&B Bowling Lanes last weekend and I was very excited to go…read moreand support my daughter, who's on the Virginia State University (VSU) Bowling Team. I arrived on Saturday morning around 8am and it was already packed with the bowling teams and their families so I found a nearby chair along the wall to sit and watch the teams bowl. The huge, digital display above the pins made it easy for everyone to keep track of the scores and whenever there were any issues, the staff would come and quickly resolve the problem. Even though the tournament was going on, they still offered lanes at the other end of the bowling alley for people to come in and bowl leisurely, which I thought was very nice. VSU bowled very well and ended up being awarded First Place in the Northern Division. My daughter was awarded Highest Scorer in the Northern Division as well. It was a phenomenal weekend and I'm so glad I was able to attend.

Things are organized ahead of time, you can access the majority of needed information on ride times/courses online, and entries are paperless. There are also competitions for everyone: beginner to advanced, hunter/jumper, driving, horse trials, combined training, dressage only shows, the works. Thanks to the many volunteers who make all these events a possibility! Currently, the staff are working to raise money for permanent bathrooms, so that will be a great amenity once available. The porta-potties are generally pretty clean since it's a lot of women around the barns for the most part. There are typically equine vendors at the War Horse series, in addition to 2-3 food trucks around the property.

I emailed them, not expecting to hear back until tomorrow at the earliest, but the wonderful person who handles customer service got back to me within minutes, refunded me, and wished me luck in finding something closer to home!
