Been a few years since we've been here and this time had more family with us. Just like our previous visit, the service and food were just as excellent, actually even better. We were a little late for our reservation but the restaurant was very accommodating and really took good care of us. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks and the wait staff were truly on their A Plus game. The little necks, baked clams, mango habanero calamari, burger, chicken tenders, lobster, everything we had plus dessert was excellent. Coffee was top notch for me as well. So decided to give this place another try since my last time 6 plus years ago. Staff was great and courteous. Place was pretty empty at 5pm on Memorial Day. Surprising or not ? We had an app, a salad and two pasta dishes . They had a generous amount of seafood BUT what's the point of having it if they don't flavor any of their sauces. Only problem we had was smell of chlorine and ocean (probably from the water), once more people came in to dine they turned on AC and it went away. The fries are excellent, crispy and golden--9/10. Everything else is hit or miss. The oysters can be amazing one day and totally off the next (once even had one that resembled grilled chicken). Salads are a no-go, and the cheesesteak sandwich was a disappointment: more fat than meat, and the bread was even a bit moldy. Before Brooklyn Crab there was Clemente's which is literally a hidden gem. Hard to find with incredible views & satisfying eating if you order properly. The NY Times just featured it and was impressed as I've come here for years and brought my dad. Ate and drank Cab Crab soup Seafood salad Crab cakes Lobster The crab soup is money, don't miss it. There are certain rules to consider when looking for seafood on the East Coast. -When you want lobster, you go to Maine (or anywhere really in New England, but Maine specifically). -When you want crab, you go to Maryland (Delaware and Tidewater VA are good alternatives, but Maryland is the top destination). -When you want shrimp, you go to South Carolina or anywhere in the Low Country. New York does not make the best seafood, outside of certain fish. Sometimes I wonder why New York feels the need to boast itself as a fishing capital. It is not. For the most part, I have found the seafood in New York bland and overpriced, save for the fried calamari. This restaurant offers no reprieve for the weary. It is right off the outskirts of Sheepshead Bay, practically the last restaurant off of the Emmons Ave strip going east, it beckons you to come in and eat some fresh food, right off the boat. Considering I had just spent all day on a boat, I was craving seafood. I tried three seafood dishes, the fusilli with crabmeat, bang bang shrimp, and their calamari. The shrimp dish was tasty, I will say that much. Good flavor, nice spice, generous portion. The calamari you have to eat quickly. This dish got cold seconds after hitting the table. One could blame it on that I ordered too much, but even large parties would say the same thing. Oh well. The fusilli dish I got gets a mixed review. The pasta is fresh and delicious, but the dish itself is watered down considerably. There is plenty of crabmeat in the dish, but it mostly tastes bland. They do not give it any character. It looks like the wallflower of a debutante ball. Pretty, but no personality. For better tasting seafood, save your money and go eat some Italian food up the street, for when you want some fine Italian cuisine, you come to New York. read more

There may be better seafood and fancier restaurants but the combination of fresh shellfish and Oceanside dining is simply spectacular. Driving around Brooklyn we stumbled upon this restaurant and for me it was love at first sight so my review may be totally biased. We both ordered a seafood platter of lobster, oysters on the half shell, crab legs, shrimp with fries and cold beer. For me on that day with good company it doesn't get any better. On point all the seafood was well prepared and portions were as generous as the price was a deal!! We sat on the dock with a view of the bay close to twilight grateful our seafood quest was so well satisfied. On our first visit I got the impression that they were only open seasonally... don't know if that's true now. I thought before writing this but changes need to be made and they won't be if the restaurant owners aren't being made aware. The snow crab legs which should be a staple are black, dry and frozen. The bus boys work quickly and are super sweet as well as the server. But our waters were never refilled and we had to send stuff back. Snow crab legs twice and seafood salad tasted funny. 4.5 stars Beautiful venue right on the water. One of the few restaurants you can drive your JetSki/boat up to and have a meal. Large patio with plenty of seating and lots of umbrella coverage so you don't get fried to a crisp :) We love the food (Fritto Misto, mussels) and the drinks, especially the peach tea. During the summer months, you get to enjoy outdoor eating with an outdoor bar coupled with views of ppl enjoying water life. Service was impeccable for the most part. Had to wait for "fresh" to arrive to the table. My wife's Bonzino was undercooked and when she sent it back, it seemed that the place the enitre plate in the oven or microwave. The rice returned hard, the vegetables sticky. At that point we expressed our disappointment and she eat part of it. We came here for dinner for the first time. We've been to Jordan's lobsters a lot (Right next door), but wanted to go for crab this time. The crab cakes were delicious, the raw oysters/clams were fresh, the alaskan king crab legs were full of meat, but the highlight of the dinner was the sea bass!! (Not pictured).
