    Grilled Octopus

Went to Nick's Lobster for a date night with my hubby during Restaurant Week. The location is definitely a highlight, right by the water, and I can already picture how lovely this spot must be in the summer. We would absolutely love to come back when the weather is warm. The service was impeccable. Our server was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of all evening. Now, let's get to the food. I started with the Caesar salad, but the dressing was a bit too anchovy forward for my taste, so I didn't really enjoy it. My husband had the lobster bisque. It was very creamy, but there was hardly any lobster in it. We both ordered the grilled octopus. I wasn't a fan, but my husband enjoyed it, especially paired with the lime based slaw. On the side, we ordered the fried calamari, which was one of the highlights. The calamari was tender, and the sauce really made the dish. For our main entrées, I had the whole lobster, which unfortunately was overcooked and lacked flavor. My husband ordered the snow crab legs and really enjoyed them. Dessert was the best part of the evening. I had the red velvet cake and he had the key lime pie. Hands down my favorite dish of the night. I'm not sure if the experience was impacted by Restaurant Week, but between the beautiful location and great service, I'm willing to give Nick's Lobster another try, especially during the summer.

Came here for Restaurant Week, I hadn't been in a while, and the interior has clearly been redone. The space feels refreshed, like it got a full facelift, while still keeping that classic Nick's Lobster vibe. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly kind and attentive. Restaurant Week offered a four-course meal. We started with the lobster bisque and a garden salad, followed by shrimp cocktail. For our entrées, we had the stuffed shrimp and the salmon -- both were well-prepared. It paired beautifully with the wine I chose. Speaking of wine... I couldn't decide what I wanted, the staff offered a mini wine tasting right at the table. I tried three different wines before settling on a Riesling, which was perfect with my entrée. We ended the meal with the key lime pie and chocolate mousse, which were the perfect sweet finish.

Came here for restaurant week with my sister in law. The food was delicious! We had a great time. The service was great. We ended up staying and chatting for like 6 hours until they closed! No one chased us out which was nice. We had a great experience. Heads up - there is an additional charge for a credit card.

How much is a potato worth??? Two local customers, apparently. We have been Nick's customers for years, having dined in for special occasions and hosting out of town guests. We went in tonight for a birthday dinner, ordering the two lobster dinners with a coupon. We also ordered a dozen oysters, 4 cocktails and a beer, and upgraded the lobsters with "seafood" (bread) stuffing. Total bill came to just under $190 -- including a $6 potato. You see, the coupon was for "two lobster dinners", which we assumed meant two complete dinners. My wife was served her stuffed lobster, a half corn on the cob and a baked potato. My plate had all but the potato, so I inquired about it. The runner said "only one per table" and quickly walked off. I thought nothing of it and asked one of the servers for it and she bought one out to me. We were in the middle of our dinner when our original server returned and stated that only one of the dinners came with a potato, WHAT?! She then asked another server to bring us the check. I then discovered we were charged 6 bucks for the baked potato which she never disclaimed to us. Needless to say I was disgusted by the pettiness of this, including the behavior of our inattentive server. Manager sensed something was wrong and inquired, but by then I already paid and wanted to leave. (I was still classy enough to leave a tip) Not sure if I'd go back...

Went back quite recently and the food was delicious, everything was tasty, and well seasoned. Service was great and the Ambiance was comforting very relaxing.

One of our go to seafood places. Good drinks and service. Multiple sitting rooms with cozy interior, outdoor patio in the summer, overlooking the water. Over the years we've tried pretty much most of seafood items on the menu. Everything is fresh and delicious.

I've been coming here since I was a kid and so much has changed. The flavored piña coladas are delicious. Go with mango. Everything tastes good but individual preferences matter. The lobster bisque is top notch but don't expect much actual lobster. Lobster cream pasta is worth the wait too. Maybe skip the lobster roll unless you're a fiend for it. The interior is spacious and has nice views. Service was slow but that may be due to the party in the back room

THE OG BROOKLYN SEAFOOD RESTAURANT Nick's Lobster House is a family-owned company that is comprised of a restaurant including an outdoor deck, seafood market and waterfront event venue on the Mill Basin waterfront. They are etched into Brooklyn's rich food history since 1955. It actually is still owned by the family of "Big Nick", the local fisherman that decided to sell lobsters on Flatbush Ave over 60 years ago. Most recently, I came here for a family function and had a good ole time. The service was on point for our large group and so were the drinks. I started off with a glass of the famous "Hurricane Nick" then the table ended up with a quart based on my glowing review. Shoutout to the chef who made the most wonderfully creamy Alfredo that I have ordered at a restaurant in a long time. I also noticed that they offer a $32 Prix Fixe Lunch Menu now so I will definitely be back soon to try it out! I recommend that you stop on in when in the Kings Plaza/Mill Basin area. You won't be disappointed.

Honestly was not very hungry when we dined. It was an unplanned visit as we were on the way to another event later on. Just needed a quick bite and noticed that the parking lot was almost empty (they had just opened for the day) . Glad we went in because this place can usually be packed. We decided to sit on the patio since it was nice out and wanted to enjoy the waterside view. We got the fried calamari, organic chicken (buffalo)wings ,Caesar salad and a Greek salad. Staff was friendly and a food came out in a reasonable length of time ( prepared upon order) . Calamari was very fresh and batter was light and crunchy. Dressing on Caesar was yummy. Chicken wings were small ( no hormonal bloat) but delicious. Prices here are on the medium to medium high range. It was enjoyable sitting outside and taking in the breeze ( they also have fans on the patio for warmer times) This is a nice place to enjoy a cocktail and views. They did have a photographer who asked if he could take pics and print for sale to us but I declined.

Was here recently to catch up with some of my sorors before we get busy in the chapter again and we had an amazing time. The restaurant is right on the water. We went on a beautiful sunny day and were seated outside. It felt like we were somewhere else instead of Brooklyn! It's beautiful. The establishment seemed well maintained and clean. It's also quite large so a lot of guests can dine here. The service was great and the food was delicious. I ordered the surf n turf burger and liked the flavor and quality. The others in my group had the lobster roll and enjoyed it. The drinks were tasty too. I had a frozen rum punch drink that was cooling in this summer heat. I'd definitely come again. They're open all year round and I'm sure the place is packed on the weekends. Consider a reservation if you plan to check them out on the weekend. I'd definitely return to sit outside by the water again and pretend I'm somewhere else enjoying friends and the food.

This is my second time coming here with the family. We always have a great time here. Great vibes and beautiful views. Our waiter Ricardo was super excellent. He was very attentive and super informative with the specials they had that day. There is a variety of food option to choose from. For those who are not seafood lovers they have steak and chicken options. Food is delicious here. Nick's Lobster House is a perfect place to celebrate birthdays, anniversary and date night. Outdoor seating is closed for the season, but the indoor has great views of the marina. You are able to watch the sunset. Drinks and food are both delicious. For starters we started out with the sweet chili Thai wings and fried calamari. The wings are really good. Just the right amount of spice and sweetness. The fried calamari is nice and crispy. Our main course we ordered Prime Ribeye Steak, NY Strip Steak, Lobster cream pasta with shrimp, chicken parmesan shrimp alfredo, Manhattan clam chowder and seafood broil special. For dessert we ordered the Tuxedo Bombe and Divine Chocolate Lava Cake. FYI if you share your experience on google, you get to enjoy a free dessert.

Food- 3.5/5 Service- 4/5 Ambiance- 5/5 This was my first time and certainly not my last, eating at Nicks Lobster House. I had the lunch special which starts at $30 for 3 courses! The first option is a soup or salad, then an appetizer followed by an entree. Nice selection and tasty dishes to choose from. Ordered a Shirley temple which tasted delightful! Started with the chicken soup which had a nice thin angel hair noodle inside of it. Next time I'd get the salad. Then I had the wings which were cooked to PERFECTION! Nice size good flavor great preparedness! The calamari was ok. Lastly I had the chicken parm. Good flavor and tasty. 2 thumbs up and will def. return to try more things

First time to be here and was invited for a dinner to celebrate a graduation. I used to lived in a nearby neighborhood for almost 10 years and kinda funny that I never got a chance to try out this place. We arrived a bit early and I got some Iced tea by the bar. Kinda disappointing that the Iced tea is watered down. Taste more of a syrup and no trace of tea anymore. The celebrant/host got us a really good set of food. The lobster tastes good, size are well suited as well and I would say fresh. We had this pasta as well and we all like it. The mussels are relatively small but taste good specially the sauce. I need to figure out that sauce's recipe. =D Overall, the place is good, ample parking, nice staff, bar is below standard (iced tea), the long table arrangement could very well be improved, and that's it.

Set right along Jamaica Bay, Kennedy's nails that perfect balance between upscale and relaxed. The ambiance feels polished without being stuffy--white tablecloths, nautical touches, and sweeping waterfront views that make it just as good for a casual dinner as it is for a special occasion. The menu is a standout, especially if you're into seafood, cabernet braised beef short ribs, and expertly prepared dry-aged chops. And of course, a perfectly poured Guinness always hits different when you're by the water. One of my favorite things about Kennedy's is the atmosphere beyond the food. They frequently host live music--especially on Friday and Saturday nights--which adds a lively, local energy without overwhelming the space. What really makes Kennedy's special, though, is its deep-rooted history. Dating back to 1910--when the original building was ferried over from Coney Island--it has weathered everything from a nearby naval explosion in 1919 to the devastation of Hurricane Sandy in 2012. After a major renovation, it reopened in 2014, blending its rich past with a modern, resilient design. Kennedy's isn't just a restaurant--it's a Breezy Point institution.

We were a big party so there was a lot of food that was had. I'll try to break it down from what I can remember. Bread basket - stale bread and not sure if the butter was actual butter because it didn't taste it Locally-farmed beet and mesclun greens, goat cheese salad with candied walnuts 5/5 - this was really good Jumbo coconut shrimp 2/5 - the shrimp were huge and I was excited to try it cause it's one of my favorite dishes but they had a weird taste to them and the sauces that came with didn't compliment them too well, I've had better tasting coconut shrimp in red lobster lol Burrata 5/5 - the burrata was fresh and delicious Fried calamari 2/5 - had a few pieces and the last piece I had was chewy and wet and I ended up spitting it out cause it creeped me out Jumbo lump crab cake 3/5 - it was alright Tuna tartare 5/5 - I think this was my favorite app, it was delicious Pan seared diver scallops, creamy shrimp & chorizo risotto 1/5 - first of all didn't see any chorizo in the risotto but that's whatever, IT WAS SO SALTY!! I couldn't eat more than one bite. Fresh oysters 5/5 - delicious and fresh, probably the best thing that was served Filet minion 1/5 - once again SO SALTY! ate a few bites and took the rest home to give to my dog after I washed the salt off because just inedible. He enjoyed it at least lol. The roasted potatoes that came with it were delicious though. Chicken tenders with fries (kids meal) 5/5 - I didn't try it but my son loved it and ate almost the whole plate Pomegranate martini 2/5- the first one they brought over was straight up vodka did not taste anything else but I was just slowly sipping on it because it was very strong. The waitress came up to me and asked if the drink was ok and I said it's a little strong but it's ok, she asked if I would like it remade not so strong and I said sure. She took it away brought another one that just tasted like straight up pomegranate, no alcohol. I didn't want to bother her especially since I didn't even mention it being strong to begin with, she asked herself, so I drank it and had two more and I'm pretty sure there was no alcohol in them period so that was annoying. White Russian 1/5 - got a White Russian as a dessert drink and it had no taste at all, how is that even possible for a White Russian?! Margarita 1/5 - tried my mom's margarita, it was very watered down and tasted like margarita mix, no tequila to be felt. Crème brûlée 3/5 - not the best I've had, not the worst. Brownie 1/5 - the brownie comes "à la mode" but I asked for no ice cream because it was for my son and he had a bit of a cough. They brought it out with ice cream, I sent it back and it took forever to get the one without ice cream, I thought they forgot honestly. My kid liked it but he's 5 and it's chocolate lol but I tried it and it was honestly horrible. Tasted freezer burned, was dry as all heck and the middle was rock hard. For how much this place is talked up, it's definitely not worth the hype or the price. Not a place I'll be back to unless it's an invite for a family birthday again.
