My review is to prepare the next person who decides to move in and to the resident who plans to move out or break your lease. We had to break our lease for a relocation for a job opportunity and this apartment complex will MILK YOU past anything you have. I thank god we secured our new apartment first before we did this because we would be HOMELESS!!! First tip, anything they tell you please make sure it is in writing for your record. They will make breaking the lease seem simple and flat rate but no. You pay your rent on top of owing two months' rent for breaking the lease and pay fees for any apartment damage. You sit there until you understand everything and have it sent in an email. This is mainly for the ones who don't know, so please be prepared and ask questions. We ended up with a total bill over $6000 or even more to be exact. Imagine having to cough up 6000 before being able to move into a new apartment and paying what the new location needs. That is why I say," please secure your next location 1st before anything else". The main issue is the move out fees. You are charged FULL PRICE for the tiniest things so you must the apartment managers to work. You have them come in and check you apartment as much as possible until your bill is clear and PLEASE, ALWAYS TAKES VIDEIOS AND PICTURES OF HOW YOU LEFT YOUR APARTMENT. I paid a cleaning service to clean my oven and fridge and I was still charged full price. It doesn't matter what they see, they will simply just charge you for everything. Even some of the pictures they showed me I still don't understand why I was being charged. If you have a pet, even an ESA pet, and even if your apartment is clean and smells like roses, they are going to charge you for pet odor and carpet cleaning which can come up to $500. This apartment owed me an apartment cleaning but still charged me. They will push your needs to the back and forget about them if you are not persistent. My cabinet door was broke and they said they could not fix it just yet because of Covid restrictions. But they still charged me for the door that broke 3 times. So that told me, they never reviewed my profile or took anything into consideration with the charges. So trust me when I say, it's like Disney land to them with the charges, they turn into little fairies and charge you EVERYTHING AT FULL PRICE. Oh, and they charge you for every single hole in your wall. They will lie and say we don't charge for anything smaller than a nickel. That is not true, and if you think this is not important, well it was a $210 charge for us so it is a big deal. This means you have to close up all the holes in your wall yourself. The bill after kicking out over $4000 for the fees was a little over $1900. I felt like all the effort I put into the apartment cleaning, I should have just left it. I should have left all the trash and food in the fridge and not even cleaned a thing. What's the point if I was charged full price. That would have saved me so much energy and stress. I have lived in 6 apartments and I have never had a bill this high and felt that charges were unfair. And the $1900, they want that split into 3 and paid within 3 months. If I can help the next person, this is why I placed so much effort into explaining this. You need to know, you need to prepare and be smart. They are great people but the business is shady. Just remember, you are a sale to persuade and a cow to milk in the end.

Granted, I've only rented two apts prior to this, but my current unit is easily better. Firstly, the building/unit is very well kept. It's spacious enough for 1-2 people but still cozy, the amenities (dishwasher, washer/dryer, parking) are great to have, maintenance is rarely needed but very quick, & the rent is very reasonable for what you get. There is a reason the building I'm in has been full for several years now. Additionally, the entire TEJ staff have been nothing but great. There is always a quick response to any inquiries, and everyone I've interacted with has been very kind. Unlike the big rental companies in the area I've actually met the landlord and owner, and it's nice to put a face to a name. I recently was up to renew my lease (with a small but realistically fair rent increase) and there was zero doubt in my mind about staying in my unit. I've been very happy with my experience over the last five years and highly recommend renting through them.
