She was born a little early and started out on the 3rd percentile and it was a tough road to get her growth going. The pediatrician was nice, but still felt like I was getting a bad grade as a mom that first month. When I went to Stephanie though, it was a breath of fresh air! I felt comfortable sharing, she had great follow up questions that didn't make me feel bad and I could tell she cared. I went about 4 times during the first 3 months and I couldn't recommend it more. I got a pretty bad case of COVID and then developed a rare condition called Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP), but Jeannine was there for me every step of the way. She consulted with multiple doctors throughout the rest of my pregnancy and I always felt like I was in the best of hands. During and after the delivery, Jeannine and the rest of the birth team made me feel so supported and encouraged. They were very attentive to all my needs and let me do everything at my own pace. I gave birth to my first daughter in a hospital, but I didn't have the best experience. I wanted something different the next time around. Delivering my second daughter in the birth center was so much better than my hospital birth. I felt encouraged and empowered. Plus, the recovery was much easier. I would definitely recommend Jeannine and Plano Birthplace to any expecting mom.

As a crunchy mom, I don't know who would want dye in it anyway. I'm very disappointed in the service and the lack of transparency. She did not offer a refund after compromising my placenta, which felt very unprofessional. She delivered the capsules to my house while I was only a few days postpartum and didn't want visitors. I told her to leave them at the door, but she told my husband she wanted to see me to give directions--directions she ended up reading directly off a printed sheet. She was not my doula or on my birth team, just someone hired specifically to encapsulate my placenta, so it felt unnecessary and intrusive for her to insist on coming in. A few minutes later, someone knocked on our door. Again, I was days postpartum and considered my space sacred. It turned out to be her boyfriend asking to come inside to wait for her. He stood in our living room until she finally left. It was extremely uncomfortable and awkward. I would not recommend!!!

I was wrong and I learned so much from this experience. The knowledge shared with my husband and I helped us make informed choices for our child and family (what we could ask for and say no to). I learned birthing techniques that would later be necessary for me to use when I gave birth naturally (kind of unplanned). I was given access to equipment to use that I didn't know I would want/need (Thank you Lord for TENS units!). The experience from start to finish was excellent and I plan to have a doula for any future pregnancies/deliveries I may have. I will also always encourage my family and friends to have one too! I am forever thankful to Dominique for the knowledge, support, and love she showed our family. She also got amazing photos of our baby's first moments with us. It's truly amazing to look back on. We knew being second time parents that something just wasn't right. We contacted Cathy and she was able to come out to our home in Alhambra quickly. She immediately identified our son had a tongue tie which explained all of our feeding issues. She also spent lots of time explaining about proper latching and showing us how to feed. She explained how to supplement with pumped milk just until our son started to gain weight which helped us avoid formula as our nurses suggested. Since the. We had the tongue tie cut and are successfully breastfeeding a couple weeks later :) We also had questions after our meeting which she responded to via email very quickly and offered another phone consultation the next day. Cathy was absolutely a godsend!!!
