Came here in a whim. But had gus with us. (Dog) So we asked and they were cool with Gus staying in the outside area. Met a man name Al was so informative and helpful choosing a wine. We ended up with the Pinot and order a bottle to go. The view is amazing and just so worth it. read more

The views here are beautiful but I didn't find the overall experience worth the 45 minute trip. Compared to many other wineries, the tastings were very small. You can't sip on them because they are very small in ounces. It was kind of hard to tell which ones you liked because of that but my favorite was the Marquette. I did buy a bottle at $20. There was very little interaction with any workers. They were pleasant but no one came over besides to take our wine order and to pay. We were able to sit outside but did have to ask for a garbage can and recycling to be brought out. We only spent about an hour there. read more

A few of my girlfriends and I stayed in the Catskills region one weekend to explore, hike, and all that good stuff. And what's better than wine tasting after a long day of hiking?! I yelped local Vineyards & Clermont Winery was at the top of the list. It was about a 25 minute drive from where we were staying in Saugerties. First off, there's a small family owned BBQ joint called Cue 2 Go across from the vineyard, you can pick up food and bring it over to the winery...or you can always bring your own picnic to the winery! Al was doing the wine tastings and he was absolutely UH-MAZING! Such a funny and cool guy- he gave us some history about the winery and even let us try a few wines that were not on the tasting list (because my friends like sweet wine). The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and the views of the mountains are amazing!!!! The actual winery is pretty big inside but they only have one bar to do tastings. I imagine it could get pretty packed at times when they are busy. This winery is also a part of the Hudson Berkshire beverage trail. I loved it here but the majority of the wine was very dry. I'm more of a semi-sweet wine drinker. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area though! read more

Visited with a party of 4 on a Saturday afternoon and was a bit busy, but managed to snag a table on the deck as a group was leaving. This is a very no frills type of vineyard - order your flight or glass and chiiillll. Very little interaction with anyone that worked there but I still found them to be very attentive. When the sun started to come in he brought out umbrellas for the tables without shade and really took care of everyone. All flights and glasses are very well priced, both at $5. No food served here, but on their website they did recommend the BBQ restaurant across the street which is welcomed to have at the vineyard. Overall had a pleasant experience. read more

A "must do" for your trip to the Catskills area. The property is beautiful with the vineyards right outside the tasting room. Set atop a hill, theres a quaint sitting area outside with a rope swing and adirondack chairs for a wonderful view of the land and mountains in the distance. The wine was good and the best part- the tasting is only $5!!!!! They don't serve food other than cheese and crackers but Al recommends hitting up Cue 2 Go (bbq joint within walking distance) and bringing it back for a picnic. We didn't do this but will next time. We went on a Friday midday so it was pretty quiet, which we had hoped for. We talked with Al for a bit and he gave us a mini tour of the property. We visited Clermont on the last stop of our winery tour along the Hudson-Berkshire beverage trail. It's one of the prettier wineries we visited with lots of views, a huge deck and tasting room, and friendly service. The place itself is beautiful and would be great for a private event (bridal shower, party, wedding). Not sure if they do events yet or not: The major pros here was the customer service of the owner and his brother, they were incredibly friendly and accommodating to our group. They provided complimentary snacks with the tasting, which were cheese sticks and Ritz crackers--so depending on your taste that's a hit or a miss. Reviews of the diverse wines were mixed but I overall enjoyed them. The descriptions of the wines were easy to understand and helpful in understanding the type of wine.A woman who joined us for our tasting absolutely loved them and bought numerous bottles so she clearly found many she liked. They seemed to be working to address an issue with some friendly fruit flies that also enjoyed the wines so hopefully that can be handled sooner than later to not detract from the experience! read more

Beautiful grounds... Very friendly owner (Tony)... Very mediocre wine. It pains me to write this because Tony was such a nice guy, but I really didn't enjoy the wine. I actually stopped my tasting halfway through - giving some feeble excuse - because I didn't want to hurt Tony's feeling by putting more wine in the bucket. One of the white wines was sparkling... It was not supposed to be sparking... It had just gotten very hot the night before... Uh oh. When I asked Tony about how he makes his sweet wine, he informed me that he takes the dry version of the wine, and then adds 70 lbs of sugar to the mix... That can't be good for you. And last - and maybe I'm being a snob - I think red wine should be aged in barrels (not in stainless steel tanks with wood chips to give it the same flavoring). ...Hopefully this is all just a matter of taste, and other people enjoy his wine more, because he really is a friendly guy! read more

This place is hands down the best experience I've ever had at a Winery. The owner's brother Al was behind the bar pouring, and he was just so hospitable. He gets you cheese and crackers, and insists you pair the Arandell with chocolate (which is delicious!) Tastings are $5 and you get generous pours of whatever they have available for tasting at the moment; we got at least about 6-7 types of wine. They also have a cousin vineyard in Portugal, and import some wines from there, which are the only wines they don't produce on site. They have a delicious assortment, and quite a few have actually won medals. I went home with a Cab Franc, and I am not usually a fan of red. We also went home with a bottle of Aurore; we heard a woman asking about buying a case of the stuff, so we knew we had to try it. Al was great enough to scrounge up a taste of it even though he technically wasn't giving out pourings of it, and it was as good as you would think after hearing someone wanting to buy a case. The view is also amazing, you can sit on the patio and sip your wine while you look out over the vineyard. Al also told us people like to stop in to picnic and watch the sunset (yes you can bring your own food, how fun!). If you sign their guestbook they might contact you with an opportunity to help them pick grapes! They also do events (ie. parties, bachelorette parties etc.) They also take cards, so buy all you want! read more

We came here on a Sunday afternoon to celebrate my friend's birthday. It was a really nice location, and we had the whole place to ourselves. The wine tasting was only $5 per person, and while you aren't able to select which wines you would like to taste, we did enjoy most of the ones included in the selection. We did not end up purchasing any bottles, but we really appreciated getting to talk with the owners and learning about the history of the vineyard. At $5 for a tasting it's hard to go wrong. The bottles are affordable, too. The wine was decent, and the crackers, grapes, and cheeses are a nice touch for the price. Nicely done there. We learned a little about the wines, too. While we enjoyed ourselves overall, it was a bit too dictatorial for my liking. For instance, you had to either choose a white flight or a red flight. They pushed back when we asked to mix. "They don't go together." In my belly, they do. One of the gentlemen was also very upset we had brought bottled water inside. "It could be vodka!" Yeah, I'm slugging vodka with my family. Calm your paranoia, guy. "We've had problems!" Well deal with the problems as they come. Don't alienate everyone because of a few bad apples. This was the first stop for my bachelorette party. Everyone met here the first day before heading to our AirBnB. Anyway, the wine is fantastic, delicious, and a nice variety. The staff and owners are amazing people and so friendly! They chatted with us, gave me some cute marriage advice, and cut us grapes from the vines for us to try. They talked about how they got into the business and wanted to know about us, what we did, etc. We enjoyed chatting and we all got to know each other a little. It was a lovely experience. $5 tasting, great views, and friendly owner. You can't go wrong at Clermont! My husband, his grandfather, and I went exploring and found this little gem. The wine isn't your traditional Cab or Merlot so be ready to try something new like the deliciousness of Noiert, Seyval Black & the wonderful Jeropiga. The Chardonnay is fantastic. You'll love the experience and probably walk out with several bottles. If you want to stay and enjoy the scenery, stop off at the BBQ joint across the street and grab some food before hand. Visited here with my girlfriend this past weekend. Pulling up the property is adorable. (check out all of the pictures posted by other Yelpers) It has a private lot that can fit a decent amount of cars. When you walk up the stairs or ramp, everything looks super new, but the outside of the building still has a rustic, old fashioned look about it. Walking in, everything is lovely wood and adorably decorated. The owners are so friendly, nice, accommodating, polite and hospitable. They made the entire experience amazing. We got two tastings of white which were $5 each, great deal. Then a few more glasses which were also $5 each. Some of the wines were delicious, some not so great. However, the owners didn't take it personally when we didn't like one of their wines, which I loved, (some places give you a stink look like its your fault you don't like their wine.) They have some basic crackers and cheeses, this is the only area where they could probably improve. Although it is still nice they have a treat for their guests. Across the street is a BBQ take out place, you're allowed to bring your own outside food in, I'd suggest trying out the BBQ place. They have a nice porch area and some chairs/benches outside near the vines. Will definitely be going back. read more

The space is beautiful and the staff very friendly. This is the first winery on the wine trail so it is convenient to stop here. However, the wine is just not great. Ok so we got into this winery and they off the bat had zero power from the storm the night before. So zero electricity when we walked in at 12:30 when they were supposed to open at noon. Chairs were stacked up and the place looked like they didn't give enough time to open and setup. The bathrooms had zero running water so I couldn't wash my hands but that wasn't the worst part.. When we did our wine tasting they included wines FROM Portugal?!?! Why would you go to a winery that doesn't sell the wines strictly from the region? The winery is situated in a lovely setting, with rolling hills in the distance in one direction, and rows of vines in the other. Our tasting was enjoyable, and we found the staff to be very friendly. I can't say enough about how nice the owner, Tony, is. And at $5 a tasting, you cannot beat the price. Some of the wines were better than others, but it is a young vineyard and winery, so a little experimentation is par for the course as far as winemaking goes. I'm all about supporting local businesses, especially those who deserve it. I think that as their vines mature, this will be a great local winery in the coming years. But in the meantime, it is still a fabulous setting to enjoy the wines they currently have. Tony even said that you can pick up some bbq from the CIA chef who sells take-out across the street, and bring it to his tables to eat and drink his wine. When we walked in, he was sitting at a table, playing his guitar. Some of the wines are from his cousin's vineyard in Portugal. As for the (only) rude 1-star review below who said that they could buy Portuguese wines in a liquor store, that may be true, but I'd find it hard to believe you will find the same friendliness to go with it. An extremely pleasant wine maker. Pretty setting. Wines are fair. But the setting made up for it

My girlfriends and I stopped in here and we wanted to catch up over a bottle of wine. We decided on one that sounded good and when my friend went up to ask for a bottle of it the owner wouldn't let us just buy the bottle! "How do you know you'll like this one if you've never had it?" My friend pushed back but he wouldn't let us just buy a bottle so he made her get a tasting and then we chose a bottle. It was frustrating that he made us gets tastings and still charged us for them when we didn't want them in the first place, so ultimately we paid about twice as much as we should have since we didn't want to do the tasting at all. The tasting was $5 which is cheaper than tastings at other local wineries but we also didn't get to keep the glasses which is common at others in the area. The view was a nice plus and the wine itself was good. Just left a bad taste in my mouth that he wouldn't let us order what we wanted and I probably will not go back for that reason. read more

This winery was very disappointing. I called several weeks ahead to find out about a group tasting. They told me they did not take reservations, but that it would be fine. After waiting about twenty minutes to be seated, they totally forgot about us. It had to be another twenty minutes before the glasses showed up and there was lots of lag time between the wines. The person who helped us had little knowledge about the wines and kept forgetting which one he was on. We were there for almost 2 hours because it was just waiting. Not recommended. This place is run by two brothers Al & Tony they built it from scratch by themselves, it is a great place to visit, wonderful scenery, large spacious tasting room with lots of indoor and outdoor space with umbrella tables and chairs as well as picnic tables on the grass. This place is clean, modern and new. Tony & Al are very friendly and after talking to Al we felt as if we've known him for years, his brother Tony plays the guitar beautifully. It is a very relaxing and pleasant environment, my favorite wine is the dessert wine named after Tony, I highly recommend it, not too sweet, just perfect. This is the perfect place for large groups, such as bridal parties, church groups, senior groups, etc. they have plenty of space. I will definitely go back to visit. read more

Went with a group of 10 people for a wine tasting event 3 weeks ago. Beautiful views, cozy room, great wine, friendly owners. Bring bread, cheese, and buy a bottle of wine from them. Sit in the tasting room or on the terrace. Views of the Catskills mountains and the vineyards. Enjoy some quite time or chat it up with Tony or Al. Both good people to talk to. The place used to be a dairy farm, now it's a young vineyard, Good idea. I bought 3 bottles of wine from them to take home. All gone, gotta go back soon. read more
