Most bigger gun stores pull the "what you see us what you get" line and refuse to order items that aren't in stock, but Cleveland Armory has helped me out twice and ordered things for me without any hesitation at all. I had been in the shop for parts and pricing on fire arms in the past. On my last visit I asked Todd about CCW training and he told me he was putting together a class soon. I checked the website and signed up and told a neighbor who signed up as well. The class was pretty much an all day deal with the first half being in a classroom setting and the second half on a private range followed by a wrap up session back at the classroom. I really liked that 1) Safety is the number one priority. 2) No one was made to feel "stupid" based on a question asked and 3) at the range, attention was given based on their needs. Everyone was given helpful pointers and advice to improve or correct the handling of their firearm. Todd and his staff know their stuff and take the time to fully explain the the laws and rights of a licensed CCW permit holder. After the wrap up, there were several students who wanted to cover how to break down and clean a firearm, although this is not part of the training Todd stayed and demonstrated the process and answered any additional questions anyone had. Very dishonest people. After I completed the 4473 form, and after I gave them my credit card, Cleveland Armory charged me more than the price we agreed to. They refused to honor our agreed price and refused a refund of the difference. They also requested more information than required by Federal law. This business also goes by the name Enthusiast of Ohio. LLC. They never answer the phone. Response to owner Todd K. You're not telling the truth Todd K. I was in your store for 45 minutes. Not two hours. I agreed to a price of $450 out the door. I saw and heard the young man that was attending to me tell you $450 out the door. Why did you ask me for my drivers license, CCW license and have me complete the 4473 form? You knew that you didn't need my CCW license. It's not required by law. I'm sure you don't require it from other customers. When asked about an appraisal you told me you would "have to research it". You did not give me an "appraisal". You gave me your opinion. The "repair" you refer to took 15 seconds. All you did was remove a plug from my rifle. I offered to pay you. You refused. Why does your business have two names? Why won't you answer your phone? I'm not the only customer that has raised serious concerns over your business practice. Reviews on other websites question the legality of your actions. Some serious enough that they should be investigated by the ATF. As for the video, you never offered to show me any video when I questioned you about the discrepancy. Todd is a fabulous wealth of knowledge about firearms (among other things) and provides a great shop environment, he's always got some cool pieces in stock. I took a CCW class and it was fantastic--don't waste your time at other CCW courses, you won't get the level of depth of training you would with Todd. Other places will file in 30+ students at a time and you'll only put a couple shots down range during your two hours at whatever range they choose with sub-par instruction. If you take a class at the Cleveland Armory you'll get to go to a fabulous range in the Grays building downtown and get some very helpful personal instruction. I had a great time all day and was rapt the entire time because Todd carried the class, I know I came out a better shooter and feeling more confident about my abilities. ***BEWARE*** I purchase a gun from them and had to do a 3 day background check. When I returned to pick up the gun I realized it was not the one I purchased. They tried to persuade me that I was mistaken but I know who I am and what type of guns I like and it was definitely not the one I purchased. I recognized that the one I bought was in the gun case at a higher price. I don't know what is going on but I do know that is very bad business!!! read more

Cleveland Armory provides very poor service. They advertise gun-smithing work and can fix guns, especially AR15 style. I dropped off a Bushmaster AR15 that was having some jamming problems. They said they would clean it and test fire it in the next 2 days to determine what was wrong with it. They are completely disconnected from the outside world, they do not answer the phone, voicemail is full, and they do not answer email or questions directly from their website. They don't respond to Facebook messages or any other form of communication. There is no way to contact them except to drive there. Thirteen (13) days go by and I haven't heard from them at all. After trying 25 times to call and 4 emails that morning I drove there to see what was going on. There were 3 guys behind the counter and 3 customers were being waited on so I waited my turn. When I asked about my carbine they said they were planning on test firing it later today. Thirteen days and they had done nothing. They said that they were short staffed and busy with new customers. I was a new customer 13 days ago, what happened to me? I had been in line for 13 days and they did nothing but were happy to keep taking more new customers before helping the existing customers. They shouldn't even open their doors for new customers if they are that far behind. They are not in it for the customer clearly, just for the money. I came here to buy my first gun and found Bill and Todd to be very helpful. Bill offered to give me a training course on safety and technique at a range. We tried out different models to help find the right weapon for home defense and Bill was very patient with all my questions and is an excellent instructor. Todd was able to thoroughly educate me on the inner workings of each weapon. Once I made up my mind Todd had very useful advice on what accessories I need and what I don't. As I am a novice I was prepared to buy a lot of stuff for my weapon I don't need right now and Todd talked me down from doing that, which I respect. We discussed the different "essential" accessories and once I decided which modifications I'd like to make, he installed them for me. As newcomer to the exciting hobby of firearms, I'm going to definitely be doing all my buying here. It's a small shop, so sometimes they have to order a part, but personally I don't mind waiting a week if I know I am being respected as a consumer. read more
