Parma Armory is a HUGE rip-off. They charged me $46 for one hour and 18 minutes of range time. $16/hr + $10 for 1/2 hour + $5 for guest + $5 for "Long Gun." I've never heard of such a thing. Long Gun charges? Really? Come on! Those guys nickel and dimed their way to $46 for an hour's worth of shooting. Total rip-off. And making me buy their 12 gauge ammo is total BS. I brought low brass target ammo with me, and they're telling me that it'll ricochet, but they made me buy their high brass "defensive" ammo (basically 00 buck) for $9.00 for five rounds. I've NEVER had to buy shotgun ammo anywhere else ever. I'll never spend another nickel in that place, especially since they managed to squeeze $73 out of me for range time and 15 rounds of shotgun ammo! They also tried to add items to my bill that I didn't buy. Some kind of gun lube and 9mm ammo? Really? They were kind enough to remove them, but it's still a shame that they tried. That speaks to the integrity of the people running the show. There are too many other shooting ranges in the area to waste your time and money on this one. The Riverside Range in Cuyahoga Falls is excellent, and worth the membership. It's staffed by REAL professionals. Select Fire in Berea is a great place too. They even have a simulator. B&D in Lorain is less than 1/2 the price of Parma Armory. B&D in Lorain is $18 for two people to shoot for ONE HOUR on weekdays. You can even take a trip to the Marksman in Barberton where two people can shoot for an hour for $22 (still less than 1/2 price), and while you're there, you can shoot on their archery range too. The owner thought he'd be cute in his reply to my Google review and tell me that people bring armor piercing ammo in for long guns like my 12 gauge shotgun is armor piercing! read more

I attended the Sentinel Class last March 31st. It was the first training class I signed up for at PASC and I was very impressed by the way the instructors conducted the class! The classroom portion was presented with essential information and emphasis on safety and responsible firearm ownership--this is vital for a gun owner to always know the status of their firearm at all times! They also explained the reasoning behind modern day techniques and stances -- it was new knowledge to me! Dave S. and Will O. have coordinated the class well with the right amount of information balanced with fun and practical examples! The range practice was great and compared to other places I have been, the instructors really take the time to enforce safety and teach marksmanship fundamentals! I commend Will O. for getting out of his way and focusing all his effort in teaching a young lady how to shoot effectively-- i could tell you how much of a drastic improvement that made putting the hits on target within a few minutes and most of all boosting the confidence of the shooter putting the best smile on her face!! They are fun instructors specially the challenges they presented at the very end...really enjoyed this class and how Dave N. and Nate W. assisted and demonstrated their abilities as well! I'm excited to attend today's Holster Draw Assessment class -- the very first time I would have to practice live fire with holster draws!!! Excellent job and I would highly recommend PASC! Everybody is helpful and knowledgeable--- this is the best place to train and practice and shop firearms with all of their staff being excellent at their jobs!!! read more

Horrible experience for my wife and I. We spent over 2k with the intention of committing to an elite range membership and firearm. Only to be completely disrespected in the store when we went to pick up our firearm. Requested a refund of the range membership as we were not signing up to be berated. Reached out to customer service, only to be told that our firearm was returned and we were being charged $120 for the free lesson supposedly included when you purchase a firearm. To be clear, we never requested a refund for our firearm. Good to Note: I am very comfortable with firearms and an active hunter. Even now, I would still be happy to pay for the special order gun I picked out for my wife. It's a great gun that I highly recommend. We committed to a year membership because we live 5 minutes away, the initial sales representatives were AWESOME, and we wanted to shoot with our friends. There is no buyers remorse, just homophobia experienced by one employee when we came over a week later to pick up our firearm and use our membership. It's a shame that you couldn't just apologize and sell us the firearm, instead you choose to make false accusations. Your response solidifies our decision to cancel our elite year membership. Hope you can learn from this experience and do better moving forward. Update: If you would just extend an apology for my experience rather than make accusations, I would be happy to remove this review as I had a great initial visit. As a Veteran of nearly 8 years with the 82nd airborne, I'm completely appalled. The customer service was incredibly bad to say the least. I had a very terrible experience at this armory. I wasn't even there to shoot or train. It was Tuesday, supposedly its VA day. I was wearing my 82nd airborne Division ball cap. I don't usually mind but not one employee acknowledged. Instead, they stared at me like I was lost before asking if I needed help. When I was finally greeted, it was with poor customer service. I was simply asking, what is the legal way to ship my sister's rifle to her. He looked at me like a deer in headlights, with a very demeaning look. Gun laws change so often, it's hard to keep up. I was a range SGT during the last year of my military service. It takes proficiency and knowledge of ALL WEAPON SYSTEMS. I'd expect that to be a standard at any civilian armory. One unprofessional employee speaks volumes of the entirety of the staff. After the initial employee danced around my questions, finally a respectful employee explained the process to me. The worst part is that I know Rob and Allen personally through my wife's family. Now I would not expect that type of treated from Rob and Allen. But, if their employee's act as such, it is a direct reflection of leadership. Needless to say, nor should they care. I will never step foot near this armory. read more

A couple of friends and I decided to try the Parma Armory. We tried virtual shooting with Dave who was excellent and informative. The virtual shooting was a lot of fun and id recommend it for a group looking to have a unique and fun time without having to be very serious. We then turned our attention to the large selection of rental guns they have at the Parma Armory, everyone working the weapon and check in area was friendly, informative and more than willing to make great recommendations and talk guns as long as we liked, my favorite gun we shot today is the S&W 1911 .45 it is powerful, smooth & accurate. The 21 Gun Salute indoor range was mind blowing. Range was clean, the air in the range was crisp and clean, little to no smoke at all and there was not an overpowering smell of lead in the air. We met Will who was range safety tonight he had a wealth of knowledge he was happy to share and even agreed to watch me fire my weapon and help identify why my shot was pulling down about an inch, he saw the issue, explained, demonstrated and helped me improve my shot in all of 4 minutes. The rental prices, lane price, virtual shooting price and price of ammo are all very reasonable not to mention tuesdays and thursdays are free rental days. Our first trip to the Parma Armory delivered a very high value experience and exceeded all expectations. read more

First off, the staff is great - friendly, knowledgeable, & available. The lanes are very nice with good sound mitigation, air exchange & motorized target controls. I'd like to especially thank the gunsmith Jon for his help with my Glock aftermarket trigger problem. He was very good at explaining the mechanical operation and why I was having these problems. I look forward to bringing my teenager up and trying out the archery range. Update: attended the CCW class taught by William & Josh. Had a great time that day, met some really nice people, & the pizza was excellent. Highly recommended. Bringing my sister and her husband to the range tomorrow to rent some pistols to tryout for a carry gun. Edit: 3/26/22 attended the 4 hr Advanced CCW Class. Access to the simulator room was fun but range time was great. What was not great was spending 2 hrs in the classroom covering topics already covered previously. The main purpose of this class should have been hands on experience in the range. The instructors William & Andre were great, but overall it was a disappointment due to lack of actual experience by physically interacting with the mock scenarios in the range. read more

My wife and I LOVE coming to this range!! From the first time we came in and was greeted by Gunny, until now, we won't go anywhere else! It's very clean inside (considering it's a gun range) and everyone is so down to Earth and relaxed! We usually deal with John. I always ask him a million questions, but he's VERY knowledgeable and if he doesn't know the answer, he will find out before we leave! And he doesn't mind at all! We have also dealt with Zack who is always very chilled about me asking a million questions and patiently answers them all. Joe also helps us figure out what we want to do as far as the ammunition we need for that day, or renting a gun, which he ALWAYS makes on point recommendations for me and what I'm comfortable with, and usually it works out! He also helped me out a lot my first day there with getting comfortable with my firearms and teaching us different ways to shoot, relax, etc. There are a few other gentlemen that have helped us as well, and even they were awesome!! We will always come back here and enjoy our time when we do! Thank you for having an all around WONDERFUL staff!!! read more

November 10th is my birthday - slightly special than any other day...EXCEPT at Parma Armory! I decided to take their "Taste of Archery" class and boy, they not only made my day special - they made it FANTASTIC!!! Since it was my 1st time there, everyone greeted me and they were very personable. Robert Schaefer is the Archery Director and was my instructor that day, along with Fred, his partner in crime. Not only was Robert very detailed in his instructions, he made learning the sport fun too! By the time my class was over, I used 9 arrows to pop 7 balloons! Robert was impressed - me too! I am HOOKED! A special Thanks to Heather for joining the boys to sing Happy Birthday to me. I am looking forward to taking the 6 hour class so I can compete in some outside archery events. Check them out - let them make YOUR day! BTW - I had such a blast that I was on cloud-9 when I left!!! (and it lasted the rest of the afternoon!!!) Parma Aromory is amazing!!! I had signed up for a class through Cabella's with Legal Heat. For some reason it was to be held at Parma Armory. Legal Heat had the time wrong, I showed up an hour early, and Legal Heat cancelled my class! Later I found a short email from "contact", not Legal Heat, from the prior afternoon, stating the class was cancelled. I also received an email from Legal Heat, after the "contact" email, that they were sending my book. Ridiculous. The people (Heather, William, Andre, and Don) from Parma Armory came in a saved my day! They got me into a class and I was able to get my CCW class completed. Not only did they save the day, the class was fun, I learned a lot, felt supported the entire time, was provided donuts in the morning and pizza at lunch, and then had range time with fantastic oversight and assistance where needed. I highly recommend going to Parma Armory for any of your shooting and training needs. They are truly fantastic and I will be back. read more

The Sentinel Training Program offered by Parma Armory is superb. Everyone from the novice to the more experienced shooter will benefit from this 4 hour session. Will and Dave S. made the class not only entertaining with playful banter but also gave each person individual attention. Everything from how to sight to how to grip your pistol (magic marker was used on the hands of those who needed proper placement, thanks guys), to your stance was checked and analyzed in a patient & supportive manner. The shooting drills had several "teachable moments" where we gathered round to analyze the target with "why do you think the rounds are clustered there? What is this person doing to cause this--grip, anticipation, what?" In summary, I am glad I took the class. All the instructors & RSOs were professional, patient, and most definitely encourgaging! I look forward to taking more classes with these guys & at Parma Armory. read more

I previously took the holster draw class with Will & today I completed the Sentinel class. This year my focus is to hone the skills I have and build on what I need to improve more and these 2 classes were the starter classes to be able to pursue the rest that I have my eye out to attend. The expertise and vast knowledge I've received in such a short time under Will & Dave S today was unmatched to what other classes I've been to with other facilities. Great value for $60 I almost feel I took advantage of these guys for the price tag-my only gripe was that this class didn't go longer and that there was more time for more 1on1 training. One day I will make Dave S proud to back up the Glock boys against the Staccato Kids ;p Looking forward to what is still yet to be achieved as I dive further into this field. My wife and I took the Barricades, moving and shooting class today. Will and Dave S. did a great job teaching the class. My wife and I had an excellent time in the class. Dave S. and Will spent the first part of the class having us practice in a class room and then we went to the 5 Star Range and got to practice. The class was fun, informative and safe. Dave S. and Will tailored the class to each person's abilities and skill level. The only thing I would change about the course is that I wish it was longer so we could go through some more drills and scenarios and have even more repetition. We took home a lot of information and will practice it on our own, but we need to attend the class again to keep getting feedback on our skills. My wife and I have taken several classes here and continue to be impressed with the staff and how they present the material. I am looking forward to the next set of classes. read more

Excellent training! I highly recommend training at Parma Armory. William and Dave have near 50 years of combined professional experience with firearms. They know their stuff. Beyond that they understand people and know how to work with people. Firearms are serious and can be intimidating to new people. Will and Dave really make you feel comfortable and make for a fun and enjoyable experience. They also let you know they take this seriously. Always felt safe and learn so much. Recommend any class at Parma Armory. The new Sentinel Class and 300 series are excellent. Sentinel is for those with some experience shooting, 300 seris class focuses on specific skils to build on fundamentals. These classes will help gun owners learn how to use their guns with more confidence adn increase safe handling practices. Its great that Parma Armory is large, has multiple class rooms and a very nice indoor range under one roof. read more

First I would like to say, I am so unknowable about Guns and have only shot two or three times in my lifetime, that being said the Guys that work at Parma Armory treated me with respect, patience and answered ALL my questions regarding inquiring a Handgun. On Tues & Thursday , you're able to try out their Guns free of charge, just have to purchase their ammunition (in which is fair in my book). I took advantage of that! I have to say HAROLD (shooting range instructor) was AMAZING! He was soo patient and way beyond knowledgeable when teaching me how to shoot their. If you need an instructor, I HIGHLY recommend him 100%. Special Thanks to Scotty in the Retail shop also. First Shot training class with Don and Dave was great! Both were fun, informative and highly knowledgeable with the course materials they were teaching and any other questions sent their way! Even though the class was full, I felt like they still gave that one on one experience to make sure everyone understood the material and the importance of gun safety. Side note, there was one lady who showed up late, walking in and sat in the front of the room like she owned the place and when Don jokingly asked her to teach the class or move to her own seat she got an attitude with him and continued it through the class, making a scene to draw attention to herself. Both Don and Dave handled it well and were very respectful regardless of her rudeness! I would 100% recommend and I look forward to continuing with my CCW! read more

Today I participated in the Sentinel Program, which was instructed by Will and Dave S. Along with them were a number of other instructors. Participants were taught the basics of gun safety as well as techniques of stance, aiming and target shooting. In addition, we were given personal instruction on the range - during which, each participant was coached and critiqued. I found the whole day very productive. The instructors were all very personable and down to earth. They all made the day fun and informative. It was a 4 hour class that breezed by. I was actually a little surprised when at one point Dave S. said that we were running behind schedule. My only suggestion would be to make the class a little longer. We were given tons of information to process. Overall, the day was EXCELLENT! Thanks guys! read more

Excellent. Went in as a beginner (shot a few times with friends long ago), came out with: * A firearm that was perfect for my needs (thanks to sales crew) * Lots of wisdom regarding firearm safety (sales & range crew) * Experience with proper handling, loading, and range etiquette (range crew) This place is just top notch. A 30 minute drive for me, but definitely will patronize this place going forward. Also, the range here is so nice! * Touchscreen control of the target carrier with presets for various distances. * Very good lighting. Finally, these guys take safety very seriously. While I was there, someone was trying to get their girlfriend to buy a handgun for them (illegal). The staff picked up on this very early and handled the situation extremely well. I went into the Armory just to get information regarding lessons and classes for CCW. Spoke with a guy at the rental counter who was very welcoming and reviewed the information with me. Sorry, never got his name. One of the instructors, Gene, was there and he provided some useful information as well. I wasn't planning on shooting that day, was not prepared to do so, however the Armory was able to provide safety glasses and hearing protection. Gene was awesome, and spent time with me explaining everything I needed to know, which made me feel so much more comfortable. And trust me, if you are holding a firearm, you should be comfortable with it. If only my ex could have been so kind, but that is why he is now my ex. Thank you Gene!!!
