We moved from California a year ago, where we were long term members of a PPO, Kaiser Permanente. Since being in Florida, I have changed doctors three times due to lack of patient "care", meaning true concern and communication for the individual patient. There is an option to use My Chart, but rarely, if ever does a doctor reply. It is an MA or staff member. The persons who answer the phones for the clinic are short - tempered; act too busy to talk; rude; one hung up on me the last half hour telling me "you can't keep changing doctors"! Where do these people come from, and how do they get hired on to a health care provider, being the first patient contact! I have huge reqrets that due to my Medicare insurance, this is the only provider available. The last three doctors I have seen, are stoic and act to busy to interact. I am hoping my 4th choice (whom my husband has seen) will be amicable. read more

Well this is the second time in a month that I am at Cleveland Clinic. It has been great until tonight. I have had 2 surgeries in 3 days. Not serious 1's other than I broke both my hips. All I want to do is go to sleep. I have asked for my ambient e times. Excuse after excuse after excuse. I must have pissed them off because the machine that reads my BP was taken away because I mentioned it. My BP was only 100/50. They said it was too low for ambient. I mentioned it and it was whisked away! No mention of why other than I feel I pissed Ciera off. What the hell is wrong with this place? I have not slept in almost 24 hours. I need to go home. Horrible place to go for their out patient surgery. I had long delays not kept informed then rushed out. Not very happy with the care i received. I felt like a number. The ER is often a mess as well with long wait times. Doctors on staff in various departments here often come and go. I would skip this location. read more

DO NOT come here for routine Dr visits. Ridiculous additional charges after copays are paid. Facility Fee? I went to my doctors office for a follow up on test results. Copay of $65.00. Now I am not new to this doctor. Also I have never paid beyond my copays to be seen by this physician. According to billing,(which the call center woman cared less) the charge was created recently and if you see ANY IRCC doctor your insurance will be billed this fee. I can't wait until they go out of business. Had an appointment today and was called before hand to be checked in and was asked about insurance. I told them I qualified for financial aid and should have it and she said I was good to go. I get to my appointment 15 minutes early and then they tell me I don't have financial aid right now and instruct me to call and set it up in the waiting room. I call the financial aid department and I'm put on hold for 20 minutes. Finally I get in touch with a person and they said they didn't have the referral from the front desk so I have to hand my phone to the person and get it sorted out. Finally after about 10 more minutes of that and giving the needed information they said I'm good to go. I walk back up to the desk so I can go into my appointment and they tell me that it's been over 15 minutes and they can no longer take me. This has very little to with staff and more to do overall with the company and their priorities. Not to mention that for the financial aid to cover your appointment you will get a call from a third party and you have to answer questions. But when they call you it's just an automated voice telling you what number to call, and when you do that you're immediately put on hold for hours. But if you don't do it they cancel the financial aid and charge you full price for the appointment you've already been to. I would not recommend you go here at all, make the drive north or south and go to a place that will at least act like they care about you. read more

Do not go here for any reason!! On 10.26.25 came in short of breath, diagnosed with blood clots in all 5 lung lobes from knee surgery. Started coughing up blood every 15 minutes and was at a pain of "7", but per the nurse practitioner, they could not keep me. Plus she "reassured" us it was okay to go home. Was discharged came back 3 hours later in worse pain, ended up staying 8 nights after that! STAY AWAY. read more

Horrible phone system. I had two scopes done by the gastrointestinal group February 14. My chart has the results but, not one doctor or pa has called the discuss my treatment options. I've called Requested a follow up appointment repeatedly. Nothing. Some person named tammy called once. Left a number that nobody answers and when I finally got to talk to someone I was told the phones were too busy so I'd have to call back. Really? One star is too much!! The support staff (any not an MD) are all horrid horrid horrid. HINT.... Just because you can wear scrubs, doesnt mean you can act like an arrogant ass.. I would venture that the majority of you did not graduate high school yet you act like you are some rock star medical professionals. Try to get an appointment for any MD there.... You will be admonished with glee that Dr XXX is 6-18 weeks out on available appointments. If you manage to make an appointment, you will be lectured on how you should arrive way early to fill out paperwork.... When you dont arrive 45 minutes early.... You will listen to another lecture.. After 5 minutes to fill out form, you will then usually wait 60 minutes to see a doctor. if you try to set up with a primary care, they refuse to make appointments for a physical.. you muse first wait 10 weeks for a "intro" appointment to then make an appointment for a physical. When you finally get set up and you have a simple issue and need the doctor to call you on a weekend, you are told no to go to urgent care.. No messages, no on call Dr, no no no... I found this across the consistent across all departments - ortho, dermatology, Pulmonologist, primary care, etc... its important to have rules and gate keepers - but to let some these imbeciles think they are the end all be all is lunacy. I would challenge the hospital CEO to pick up one of the many expensive mailings you send out advertising primary care doctors and just try to make an appointment.. read more

I want to thank all involved in my recent surgery at the Cleveland Clinic outpatient surgical department. The doctors, nurses, particularly Hedi in recovery, an absolute angel and Vincent in ICU. Professionalism has no boundaries when it is in regards to these two very professional people and all the professionals that make up the outpatient surgical department. I have never had a worse experience in a hospital as I did at this hospital. My hospital up north is Mass General Hospital. Here, I went to emergency room because of possible stroke. Not only was the doctor horrible, but the staff were particularly nasty. The doctor left a tube in my arm, so 45 minutes later I informed the staff and RELUCTANTLY took it out. The nerve. Emergency room review. The ER shouldn't be trusted with your dog, never with a human 11 weeks out of right shoulder rotator cuff surgery.  On a 12 mi. Bike ride, on a turn, I slid out on gravel and went down hard on my right shoulder. My helmet protected my head but was knocked out.  Transported to the ER via rescue. I told everyone, the rescue crew, nurses and Dr. that I had shoulder surgery & now i couldn't move my arm.  Dr ordered X-ray of chest area and CT scan of my head. He told me i had a few broken ribs and released me. I asked to have the road dirt removed from my serious road rash.  An unsympathetic female nurse literally used a gauze pad, placed it on dirt ABOVE my wound and rubbed the dirt through the bloody and raw wound. Insane. I left and cleaned it myself. A few days later, my shoulder surgeon told me my clavicle was broken in 2 places and put me in a sling.  How was that missed? My main complaint was about my shoulder and not being able to move my arm! read more

Don't stop here go on somewhere else. My child had a 5ft fall landing on his side. 4.5 hours later, a $250 copay, 1 X-ray, no neurological check and the Dr. didn't put a hand on him, stating X-ray was fine and to go home. Nurses were nice (overall), However the doctor shouldn't be practicing. I'm happy to overlook bad bedside manor and long waits if the doctors are good... but bad bedside manor with a doctor that doesn't know how to handle a fall with concerns of internal bleeding and a possible concussion should not be at any hospital. I have spoken with someone regarding this issue so hopefully it will be handled and improved but until then go north or south to a different hospital. Update: The person handling my concerns was respectful and did follow up. They told me a program was bring out in place for pediatric clients. I haven't returned but I hope them being acquired by a major hospital improved experiences. read more

Have a laceration on my arm and am in excruciating pain. Yes they did an x-ray and nothing is broken but they didnt even clean my wound or do anything to stabilize it. They just said well its not broken... Bye. I had to ask for a freaking bandaid. They didnt do anything for the wound. Super nice nurses but terrible medical care. read more

DO NOT come here. They will NOT treat you with kindness or respect. The front desk/check in and security guards are angels but the nurses are stressed, they silence and yell at their patients. I've never seen anything like it! Been to a dozen hospitals and never have we seen an out of control nurse like we did here in the ER. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she denied my request! She instead threw me out of the ER for asking. We experienced bias, prejudice, and ZERO compassion. No rooms, only make shift temporary cubicles with chairs. Horrible. After being in pain for 7 years, and being treated by the VA for 5 years... I got correct diagnosis, corrective medicine, and follow up. The relief was almost instant. Its like i have my life back... I would recommend this facility over anybody else, anywhere. read more

If not for the doctors, and the DOCTOR I saw yesterday (6/11/2020) for my heart blockage which will require a Cath and possible stint or more...I would have given Cleveland Clinic of Vero Beach a ZERO. I showed up for my heart appt. with Dr. Vikranth Gongidi on time with my wife who knows and understands more of my MED conditions that I do. When I approached the front desk (both of us having our N95 masks on) I started to have them check me in and told the desk I wanted my wife to be in the room with me as the doctor went over my case. The desk clerk reiterated the CC policy (only you), to which I said, I WANT MY WIFE in the room with me, to which they had the Cardiology Administrator (a lady) come out, and before I could utter another word she started in with her montra saying ONLY YOU can see the doctor, to which I said, "I want YOU to ask Dr. Gongidi if she can come in with me because I need her...." The administrator cut me off once again saying absolutely NOT, it his CC policy and that is that. Well, boy that did it, I stated in a very loud voice I WANT YOU TO GO BACK AND ASK THE DOCTOR IF MY WIFE CAN COME IN---YOU ARE NOT THE DOCTOR, THE DOCTOR IS SO GO ASK HIM!! She then order the desk clerk to call security on me, and they ended up sending three "jack booted thugs" to harass and threaten me. At no time did I ever make any threats, but I did use the words, "I am telling you damn it to go back and see what the doctor has to say about this!!" She just walked away from me. The your dumb army of thugs came to harass me, a 68 year old with a dangerous heart condition, and having blood pressure of 190/108, to make my stress even worse. Once my appt. came and the nurse took me in and read my BP it was 210/108!!!!! She immediately got the doctor, he say me, and after I explained to him how rude and nasty your Cardiology Administrator was and that all she had to do was say, "Sir, Let me go and talk to Dr. Gonjidi for you and see if it is ok or not, it is up to him, or maybe we can conference your wife in or something. Ended up, the good doctor took his phone our of his pocket and said what is your wife's phone number (she was waiting outside in the hot sun). He called her, conferenced her in to our medical discussion and all was well and understand!! That's it, that was all that was needed, no being nasty and rude to paying patients, no saying NO! All that is needed for CC to reap a better understanding with patients is to say, "You are right, you are the patient. Let me check." That is all that is needed. As a former military officer and CEO, I do not appreciate ANYONE tell me flat out NO, without checking and doing the proper vetting of the situation. That is what makes me angry and pisses me off sending my BP spiking....NO NOT DO IT. read more

I have been to IRH 2 times in the last 6 months. The ER staff was fantastic. Caring, listening and vey concerned. When I was transferred to a room I was transported with care a friendly voice at 3am. When in my room the nurses come in and set me all up then let me rest for a few hour until the changing of the guards. Again after that I rested with some wake up calls from Doctors, tests and blood work. I could not have asked for a friendlier staff for both 5 day stays. Oh sure there is always one that doesn't like their job but I can't complain at all. As for the doctor's I saw they all knew there jobs and were very informed before coming into my room. I've used outpatient services for endoscopy and an MRI. Both times the service has been outstanding from appointment setting beforehand to the day of visit. From check in through release every staff member I encountered was kind, courteous and professional. I arrived 15 minutes early to check in and that was sufficient because I was taken to the treatment area at my appointment time. The Patient Pavilion is very nice. read more

I thought long and hard about where I would go for cardiac issues. Knowing of the great reputation of the Cleveland Clinic, I chose them. What a huge mistake. First of all, walking into this place today, it looks more like a morgue or a hospice center than a place for the living...that aside, I have been to this hospital 6 times. Only once have they gotten my visit right. That's pretty important when they are dealing with life and death matter and as a matter of fact, the one time they got it right was just that. Had a nurse in surgery not caught the fact that I had not been told to stop taking my xarelto 2 days prior to surgery, I might be dead today. After that, the next visit they got right, it was for surgery I was supposed to get the previous visit when I had not stopped my xarelto. It was my 4th visit! The most unprofessional experiences of my 67 years on this earth. Frankly, that place now scares me to death. A complete mess, totally disorganized. One hand knows not what the other does. 0 stars!!!! I have never seen such poor care given at a hospital. It ranks right up there with third world care. Our mother went in for emergency surgery to repair a perforated bowel from what should have been a simple colonoscopy. She was transferred to Cleveland Clinic Indian River for emergency repair surgery. The surgeon decided to finish his scheduled surgery's before doing her EMERGENCY ones. She sat for 5 hours with bacteria leaking into the gut. It is miraculous that she didn't turn septic. She has been here for 6 days. In those 6 days she has had to deal with nurses that don't answer the call buttons (she was short of breath and tried to get help, no help came), they gave her suppositories to try to get the bowels moving again (twice now she has had to clean up messes because no one came to help her get to the bathroom let alone help clean her up.), she asked to be put back on her BP meds and permission was granted (as of this moment, she has been waiting well over a day.) There is just so so much more. Here's the thing. She is a retired nurse. My sister is a current nurse in another hospital. We come from a long line of medically trained professionals so we know the difference between busy nurses and lazy inept nurses. Understand if you bring your loved one here you are bringing them here to die. If you have a loved one here understand that they need to have a family member with them all day every day to be a vocal advocate. We have called the charge nurse as well as the floor supervisor, nothing has changed. If you have a choice... DO NOT.... I repeat DO NOT under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES bring them to Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital. read more

This is a review of the Wound Care Center in Vero Beach, Florida. We had a very disappointing experience with them for a simple cast. The front desk makes appointments for everyone at 8:30am and then when you arrive at 8:30am you have to wait for 30 minutes to go back to a room only to wait another 30 minutes before someone will finally come in for your appointment. The staff are disorganized and this place makes you feel like a number. Disappointed. read more

Visiting the area from out of town husband was having an issue that needed immediate attention - blurry /double vision. He was brought in immediately for stroke eval . It ended up not being that - but when they found out it wasnt - they still proceeded with other tests , everyone we dealt with was professional, courteous and very thorough. We spent 4 hrs there but that is normal for the ED. I dont have one complaint. He needs to follow up, they gave referrals and sent us home with all test results. read more

This is by far the worst hospital! PLEASE FILE MISTREATMENT AND POOR STANDARDS OF CARE WITH JOINT COMMISSION (information to file a claim is at the end of this review). I was admitted through the emergency room. I was treated horribly and have several permanent scars that were sustained while I was unconscious. I was intubated incorrectly and continue to have speech and swallow problems. The ICU nurses are very rude and uncaring and will say very deprecating things directly to you and loudly in the hallways, I felt embarrassed and helpless because I wasn't able to walk or care for myself; however, this negative treatment motivated me to try to work my legs, hands, try standing, and walking until I could manage on my own. There is no access to multidisciplinary care such as: speech, occupational therapy, or physical therapy to assist with your recovery. The doctors have an abhorrent bedside manner. They do not listen when you talk and are very quick to jump to conclusions and make assumptions that, in my case, significantly compromised my care. They do not explain or speak to you so that you may understand what happened or next steps, it is a quick check-in, a couple questions, and then they leave- just enough to document that they saw you and bill. The room was cleaned once in the 9 days I was there. The food is absolutely disgusting (I am not a picky eater, but this food actually made me throw-up ). In response to not eating at all because the food was so bad, I was told, "you can order out." I requested advocacy and supervisors, no one ever came. I was discharged with no after care, no medication, and a single appointment with a primary care doctor that I had never seen previously. I was in there for a neurological issue and was not given a follow-up appointment with neurology and the primary doctor that I did see was completely unable to manage my care or do anything really. I requested several referrals to which she was resistant and just printed some referrals. AVOID THE CLEAVELAND CLINIC AT ALL COSTS, THIS IS KILL HOSPITAL WITH THE LOWEST STANDARD OF CARE. This happened during a period in time in which I needed immediate medical assistance for an excruciatingly painful back injury. ACTUALLY THIS NEEDS TO BE A ZERO STAR RATING. No Stars, WORST EMERGENCY ROOM EVER!!! IF YOU ARE CRITICALLY ILL GO ELSEWHERE. The ER Doctor I had nearly KILLED ME. I was admitted to CC for surgery on February 10,2020 to have a non-malignant brain tumor removed. The surgery went well and I was sent home 2 days after the surgery. I was fine, no infection, no pain, no issues at all. 10 days later I ended up with a severe headache and my head was swollen. Went to the ER by ambulance because my headache was so bad I could not stand the pain. The ER Doctor I had, I would not wish on my worst enemy. Dr. Khazalampour the ER Dr. REFUSED TO CONTACT MY SURGEON, REFUSED TO TAKE ANY TESTS, DECREED, "You are exaggerating, this is nothing but post op pain, I see it all the time, go home!". I went home only to be rushed back to this hell hole, 1 day later because the the swelling got so bad that blood poured out of my head! Nearly lost my life, and required a second surgery which has left me disabled. My best advice is GO ELSEWHERE, RATHER THAN GO TO CLEVELAND CLINIC!! read more

the ARNP Deirdre Holmes In charge of my care spent less than a minute with me. She sent me for x-rays, that I had old trauma. I'm allergic to insects refuse to give me anything to help with the pain even though I told her it was on a scale 7 to 8 and that I would see my primary within the next two days. She was rude, condescending and gave me no follow-up Instructions I had to read all my papers myself. Will not return if you are not dying and absolutely need care go to Sebastian River Medical Center they will always treat you with respect and they have the kindest staff on hand. read more

My beloved husband was admitted there yesterday. The rude, condescending treatment of nurse KIM in the ER was deplorable. She took great pleasure in allowing my husband to suffer even beyond his level 10 pain - stalling to enter our room, giving sarcastic answers (when she answered at all) engaging in an argument with me for simply inquiring about why she refused to administrator the ringer IV ordered by Dr and then, most egregious of all - rather than hook up this severely dehydrated man's IV ("well he's going upstairs") she ordered him pushed up to the 4th floor where there was absolutely no bed/clean room waiting for him. The CNA and staff there were visibly upset by this (Lynda, Stacey) yet kindly accommodated us from the hallway until housekeeping could ready the room. Thankfully these girls on 4th floor are the antithesis of Kim in ER, who clearly lacks compassion, manners, empathy and simple understanding that when people are SERIOUSLY SICK, they (and their family) are vulnerable, scared and already stressed. She also administered the IV incorrectly - and when I mentioned that it wasn't dripping after an entire 45 minutes, she yelled " that's because he isn't holding his arm straight" NO! She had to remove it (painful) and start over....but no apology, no remorse or even a word. Hates patients, clearly. We will be launching a formal complaint against this very poor excuse of a health care provider. read more

My mother has been in ER many times in the past 3 years. Usually tests are completed and we are in and out in 3 hours or so. Tonight has been an excessive wait for tests, doctors and medical staff to complete expected tasks and procedures My mother is 90 and has dementia so she gets anxious and belligerent. Her procedure was completed about two hour ago and we were told she was being released. We can understand a wait to test and decide course of action but once discharged by doctor 4-4.5 hours to complete discharge is unacceptable read more

The ER and staff is a joke. It's set up and run as horrible as being on a floor. I'm a Prof fire fighter so I know what I'm talking about. I had to pay attention to my mother's hear monitor they had no clue she was in a fib, I had to bitch and gripe to have the proper care. Today I called and after 2 hours and 5 minutes on hold I am still number 2 in que. When I called, I was number 8 in que. This hospital is hands down the worst hospital I've ever had the misfortune to be in. I spent 24 hours there before I made them take out my IV and I left. I went to the ER with a 7mm kidney stone at 8:00 am, met a urologist in the ER who said he would do the surgery between 12:00-2:00 pm. The surgeon never showed up to do the surgery, finally Around 4:00 pm I asked where he was and the nurse said she would call him, the nurse came back and said there was some confusion over who was on call and I was going to be with a different urologist but he wouldn't be able to come see me until the next day. During my night of pure agony one of my Nursing Assistants told me "I had my daughter here last week and we almost lost her, I'll never bring another family member here" THIS WAS A HOSPITAL EMPLOYEE! The next morning I met the other urologist, his name is Joseph Crawford. Crawford was by far the rudest Dr I've ever met, I was told by him "you better be thankful that I'm even seeing you, the other doctor was supposed to take care of this". When I tried to ask what the heck was going on with their communication he started screaming at me In addition to the awful care I received, the facility is dirty and quite run down. This is the only hospital in Vero Beach and it's an embarrassment. read more

If I could give a zero rating I would!!! I was hauled out in an ambulance yesterday 1/11/21 because I couldn't keep anything at all down for 24 hours, dizzy, light headed with sever back pain. My heart rate in the ambulance was almost 150. They pre inserted an IV for the hospital staff so they could give me fluids. When I got to the ER I sat there for 2 hours before I noticed so many other people getting there after going back before me. And I do understand more serious cases can go first. At least check on the patients who are in the lobby!! ESPECIALLY WITH AN OPEN IV IN THEIR ARM. If I could give this hospital negative stars I would. I was hospitalized here for 2 and a half days and was sent home with absolutely no idea what was wrong with me! I was told I MIGHT have a gluten allergy. They did ONE scan and blood work and sent me home with absolutely NO ANSWERS. Come to find out from another doctor not associated with this hospital I had a massive stone in my gallbladder and needed to have it removed. So I was sick for months because this hospital did not do its due diligence and run more tests. All they did was sent in multiple doctors into my room to get the most money out of my insurance company and have to make me pay more for doing anything for me!!
