Do not use H&R Block IMHO! Tax returns for 2019 were prepared by H&R Block. They input the…read moreincorrect SSN and this incorrect input impacted 2019 AND 2020 and refunds were delayed for both 2019 and 2020 AND PROBABLY 2021. Tax year 2019 was finally received after an 18 month delay. Tax year 2020 is still delayed for almost 12 months caused by the 2019 error. This process has been ongoing for almost 2 1/2 years...and no end in sight! The H&R office manager acknowledged the error and prepared a representation letter on the corrective steps that he would undertake to correct the errors. Copies of the letter were given to the parties and the office was asked to put a copy in the respective files. Facts: 1. H&R Block prepared the return! 2. The taxpayer, a minor, merely signed the returns that H&R Block prepared and processed! 3. Their representative (Mr. B) acknowledged the errors! 4. They provided a letter how they would correct the errors. 5. A company "Senior Paralegal", MS A, in a letter dated December 2, 2021 challenged the authenticity of the letter referenced above and their accountability stating "We have no evidence that delays you appear to allege...are attributable to H&R Block". They have admitted an error but they have no evidence????. 6. Further information continues to allege shamefully that a minor is ultimately accountable for the input error. H & R alleges that they were provided inaccurate data verbally or ?. Go Figure. They had multiple W-2's to review, not 1, not 2, but multiple W-2's with all of pertinent information needed to accurately prepare a proper return (s) such as Name, payee, address, SSN, withholdings...to verify the SSN. That is standard practice for the overwhelming cadre of tax preparers. Apparently, it is not for this operation and, accordingly, that magically wipes away any H&R accountability!!!! 6. Past representatives did not give any evidence, IMO, that they thoroughly had a strong desire to investigate the matter such as talking to the preparer of the returns in 2019, the supervisor, reviewing the files, etc. to expedite a quick and just resolution! They hid behind privacy mumbo jumbo...totally unnecessary if they would just investigate the matter internally. You make a mistake...own up to it. You make a faulty 737 airplane, you do not need forms and consents to find out you made a faulty plane...except to blur the facts. The facts are clear! 7. Delay, deny, attempt to bully and intimidate is the apparent customer service model H&R employs, IMO. This disadvantaged the taxpayer financially and, yet, they claim no responsibility. The taxpayer had to borrow money for school needs since the refund money was not available and, yet, it isn't H&R's fault. It made completing FAFSA more challenging since the returns was not corrected and, yet, it isn't H&R's fault. It has the potential to complicate her Social Security earnings calculations as well. It all began with the incorrect preparation and, yet, they claim... not me, not me...the man behind the tree and, therefore, it isn't H&R's fault! IMO, this is unprofessional and indicative of a poor work product. They blame a teen, legally a minor. Find and support your local C.P.A...OR...TurboTax is a bargain...TaxAct , Credit Karma, Jackson Hewitt...!!! p.s. Information that has been recently obtained by a U. S. Senate staff alleges that H&R block may not have mailed in all of the returns that they stated they would process. It just goes on and on!!

Don't go to H&R Block unless you want to overpay to get your taxes done! We were satisfied with our…read moretax preparer & feel he did a good job but our bill came to $588!!!!!!! Absolutely do not let them start your tax returns unless you insist on a quote, which the big sign in their office says you get to "know the price beforehand" but our tax preparer did not offer a quote. So, our bad for not insisting but never did we think it would be almost $600! Prior to this year, we had used a CPA for years, unfortunately he retired, but we never spent more than $200 & our return was done in 30 min compared to 90 min at H&R Block.

Beware! I had an appt to meet for 2025 taxes. No one there. No notice. Next day or so spoke with…read moreoffice, rescheduled, some personal issue on Stephen's part (with no notice to clients and/or staff). Since I was kind of stuck I tried again and met with Stephens. I submitted Rita and paid Rita. I paid IRS via voucher. Stephens was to submit IRS and Ohio taxes electronically. I am due a refund from Ohio. Weeks went by. No refund rec'd. Called office, answering person said "Oops, we forgot to call you we need..." I had submitted that info on their secure email but sent again. Called 5 weeks later and spoke with Stephen, the accountant, he confirmed it was actually sent in (call on5/5/26). Still no refund. CAlled Ohio tax agency, they confirmed they have received nothing. Calling Stephens tax office trying to get the confirmation number IRS and Ohio were submitted...no answer. Now I am trying to call IRS to see if the 1040 was ever submitted and this is my worst nightmare. I have never encountered this level of sloppiness ie misconduct.

BEWARE! This…read morecompany is the worst of the worst! My mother-in-law had two retirement funds set aside for her children (beneficiaries) before she passed away. They sent my husband's inheritance claim form to some random person in a different state. We never received any correspondence from them. It took multiple very frustrating phone calls to them to discuss any of this. They only have basic level customer "service " answering the phones. No employees are assigned to your account-- you have to start over with a different person every time. They give you phone extension numbers that don't exist. They won't let you speak to a manager. They said they couldn't find any accounts. Then they said they mailed claim forms to a random person in another state. Then they said the account was empty even though other family beneficiaries were paid years ago. They won't say who got paid. They won't say how much was in the original account. After 11 years, Fidelity STILL has not resolved this matter. Today they said they would no longer discuss the matter. Please beware of this company. Go read the multiple negative reviews on Consumer Affairs and many other sites. PLEASE don't put your children through this hellish experience.

Mixed bag! The on-line tools are great. Phone support are…read moregreat. However, the support at the local branch are inconsistent. Depends on the Accounts Rep / Advisor your are working with. Have been with this institution since 2012 when the company I retired from moved the retirement fund management to Fidelity Investment. Have had EXCELLENT rapport/relationship with the first rep I'm working with, however, less than a year, the rep was transferred to another branch. Another rep/ advisor who took over was aloof and incompetent. In less than 3 months, that rep was no loner with the company. Have had at least three different good reps, unfortunately, those were either transferred to another branch or left the company. While the revolving door of countless reps makes it difficult to establish continuity, not given a heads-up of the changes is frustrating. Perhaps I am asking too much for wanting to be notified and introduced to the rep/advisor who will take over. Perhaps the worst is the failure to return phone calls and emails. At the risk of being labeled chauvinist, it seems that female reps are very sensitive to the point that objectivity are compromise. The last two female reps/advisor failed to keep their promise of the agreed upon action.
