Cleveland has really reinvented itself. I remember The Flats of the 90s vs. now, big change. Though I loved The Flats back in the day too. Of course, the Rock + Roll Hall of Fame calls Cleveland home. I've been a few times for various events. Everyone should go at least once. Cleveland has great museums and galleries. Tiki bars, breweries, restaurants, and chic boutique stores. Lots of off-the-beaten path stuff to be discovered. And of course, it's a sports town. So if that's your thing...

By luckily being in the path of totality for the Eclipse of 2024, you pulled it off. You managed to take what was going to be a nothing day and totally make it all worthwhile (throws beret or special 12312-2 glasses in the air). When I first heard about the eclipse a year ago, I had to pick my city and it came down to Carbondale, Indianapolis or Cleveland and I chose you. The light cloud cover changed nothing. The moon covered the sun and we saw the glowing white halo, and also some red spots - solar prominences. It was amazing that it was bright and warm and seconds later, dark and cold. I'm glad I picked you, Cleveland. You showed me a good time and I won't forget it!

They just keep placing another brisket on, and the ribbons of beef keep falling. The order counter is tiny, with a line out the door: regulars, tourists like me, and food delivery drivers all waiting their turn. There are meat trimmings everywhere, tubs of pickles, and the sense that the folks behind the counter know exactly what they are doing. The small dining room is packed with people sitting elbow to elbow, gripping massive sandwiches with stadium mustard in the corners of their mouths. It is loud, cramped, messy, and glorious. I've gone to heaven.

I joined the line just before 11 and got inside about 11:50 AM. I'm currently standing in line waiting on my sandwich which is a corned beef melt. I ordered a corned beef melt, which is toasted rye, cornbeef, double Swiss cheese - hot & melted with Kraut on the side and dressing. I got a side of potato pancakes, and also coleslaw. The folks were extremely friendly on the inside, very welcoming and very efficient as they worked to make who knows how many meals. And you'll be glad to know every sandwich comes with a dill pickle, wrapped in its own paper and ready for delicious consumption! The dill is a big deal to me because I like spears, as in the pickle not necessarily (in this case) the pop star! Come early and be ready to wait! The place is really kitchsy and has a great atmosphere. And the folks really make it awesome to be there. It has the feel of a destination restaurant the kind of place that is an experience to visit not just because of the food because of the culture and the people and the phenom that it has become.

This square has long historical significance and many West Side Market tours originate in this park. Market Square Park was once an open-air West Side Market in 1859. In 1868 it served as a wooden Pearl Street Market that in 1915 transitioned to what we now know as the Westside Market. I frequently find myself in this park while in the area. The park is a fairly small square with benches and a few tables. Seasonally it's a nice oasis to rest and socialize during your Ohio City explorations. It's a good rest stop to try all your Westside Market purchases - small bites or fresh fruit. The square frequently serves as a civil gathering space for various globally meaningful protests. People from other parts of the city gather to share their agendas. Unfortunately, over the years, the square became frequently occupied by questionable crowds and may not be the safest destination. It is more true for warmer seasons rather than winter. The park does not have dedicated parking. You can find parking at the West Side Market that offers free 90 minute grace period. There is also a parking lot behind Market Street. Sometimes you'll even get lucky with street parking but not during peak times (evenings and weekends). Consider visiting Market Square Park during your Ohio City explorations. You'll find many local businesses in close proximity - West 25th and Market Street. Both offer the best taste of the city in terms of culinary adventures and beyond.

The Park is located directly across the street from the West Side Market at Lorain Avenue and West 25th Street. I'm not sure if its a park I would come to just to relax as it's not very large and in a pretty high-traffic area, but rather, if an event is here, I'll surely attend. You can usually find a meter spot on the surrounding streets or there's a big pay lot parallel to it! Check out an event here!

You may be enticed by the fact they are month to month. Just don't. They approve items without your knowledge, send you quotes that don't make any sense, their monthly statements seem as if they are designed to confuse you, and their property managers tell you very minimal information and will tell you nothing unless you ask the right question (her name was Sharon). They sent us a quote to make a unit rent ready without pictures. When asked for pictures they sent blurry pictures that looked as if it was taken by flip phone. Their rent ready charge was almost 9k, more than what they charge in CA. When we went to see the property, very minimal work needed to be done. We had to request for them to stop authorizing services we did not approve and they still did it. They opened up a sewer and water account without us knowing which caused the one we had to close. Come to find out we owed 2k. Instead of educating us on the sewer account we needed, they chastised us as if we didn't pay on purpose and used the guise of concern as if they cared about our tenants and property : "It's important to keep the property in shape and pay the water bill". If you need your unit checked, be prepared to wait. We possibly paid for a needless eviction because they just weren't good about checking the unit. We left them and suddenly have an 800 bill for changing 6 locks. If you can avoid using them you will be doing yourselves a favor. They are theeee worst property management I have ever used. They actually made us miss our old PM and she did barely anything unless asked but at least she listened, their monthly statements were clear, and we were not nickeled and dimed. Don't do it unless you like to be taken advantage of.

Property manager was very pudhy and harassed me almost daily on wanting us stay after informing us the rent will be raised. Once we told her we would go month to month they emailed us a notice to vacate/ non renewal and told us to be our by the term ending. Needless to say if you have children do not rent from them. If you like your home safe don't rent from them. Poor communication. Rude pushy staff.

They have no clear channel of communication. I received texts and calls from various workers over the 3 years, it was never streamlined and hard to trust what is real from a scam. They left me without a lock on my door (inside the unit, but exposed to downstairs unit) for over a month, and allowed someone to move into the lower unit without letting me know/putting a lock on my door first. They randomly put a storm door on one day, gave a key to the basement unit, and didn't say anything to me about it. She informed me I could pay to copy hers. Mind you, the lower level tenant was not even given a key to this back door at move in, she copied mine. She was only given a front door key. So this made no sense. They are currently charging me $375 from my security deposit for window screens that never existed, plus a bunch of other bogus fees for routine turn over. If you proceed with renting a unit under them, please be meticulous in your property condition form. Get on your hands and knees and mark everything that is wrong with the unit (there's probably A LOT). I would also recommend keeping a running list of all maintenance requests, and communications from them. They are slimy and not to be trusted. Additionally, they waited until the morning of my move out to send me any instructions or information. I had already locked my keys inside, and turned off the gas and electric after not hearing from them for 2 weeks. When I sent an email that I did that, only an hour later did I receive an email saying "leave gas and electric on and return keys to leasing office to complete your move." It has been a terrible experience. They also just stopped returning emails regarding my security deposit. Please do yourself a favor and find another company to rent from.
