They left a hose to my washing machine at the old apartment. A couple of things were cracked and broken. They became dehydrated and didn't have any water for themselves and I had not purchased groceries. I went to the store and got them some Gatorade and they started performing a little bit better. We called and scheduled our move with the company owner and he even gave us a call on the morning of our move to see if we were okay with moving with rain forecast all day or if we wanted to reschedule. We had the flexibility to wait a day, but we decided to keep our original move date and hope for a break in the rain. The owner's son Todd and his crew arrived on time and ready to work. They did a walkthrough with us to review what they were moving and were very careful in placing runners to protect our floors. This was a furniture and appliances only move since we were still trying to declutter and decide which household items needed to follow us and what could be donated. Despite a light rain, the crew had the truck packed in no time and headed down the road less than 10 miles to our apartment. They were just as quick and professional unpacking the truck and moving them into our much smaller surroundings. There was no damage to any of our belongings. Total move time from start to finish was an AMAZING 90 minutes. A-1 Moving has a 2-hour minimum and the hourly charge was $130 for 3 men. For $260, I saved my back and got it done a lot quicker than if I rented a truck and tried to do it myself. Hiring A-1 Moving was a no-brainer.

I hired this company for a loading job for April 20th which they quoted $220 to pack an ABF truck. I texted them a list of my Inventory including all the furniture & boxes, (during the packing, the owner tried to say I didn't tell him about the boxes Lol) and I simply asked them to help me do the furniture-wrapping and ONLY disassemble the top of my dining table. Well, not more than about 20 minutes in, the owner pulled me aside to tell me he has to increase the money because they were helping me wrap the furniture. Excuse me, but is that not what moving companies do? Wrap, pack and load/unload??? So, these Jokers wanted to just take up things like a customer's TV & just put it in the truck without putting it into its box (which they actually did, until we saw them & stop them). What kind of moving company just picks up people's furniture to pack without wrapping it for protection??? Moreover, they were asked to use a yellow tie-down (which I provided) to strap down the items, and the owner gave excuses as to why he could not use it. This is how I know Two Twins and a Truck are NOT pros because that same yellow tie-down was used in a previous move in Connecticut to Florida by REAL professionals who used the tie-down (at their suggestion) to secure all my contents in an ABF truck and used 7 linear feet to pack all my items. However, these Jokers Two Twins and A Truck, used 19 linear feet of the ABF truck to pack my things. I had all the same stuff, save for 6 new pieces of furniture; but still, it should NOT have taken them to 19 feet that's how POOR their packing was. They started at 11am and finished around 3 or 4pm, then the owner doubled the price & told me it was going to be $420. The problem was I only had the original price quote of $220 on my Pre-paid card. I asked if I could pay what I had & pay the rest later because frankly, I did not expect the price to be doubled & I did not have that kind of money on my Pre-paid card at that moment. I had to go get the money, and I do not drive - this I explained to the owner. Mind you, I was stressed & tired from all that packing up I helped to do. So there was this long discussion about when I was going to pay & how much even AFTER I explained my situation which I found harassing to say the least. So people: at this point you would think they did an outstanding packing job the way the emphasis was placed on receiving the balance of the $200 that I owed, WRONG! By the time I moved (which was April 21st) and sorted myself out, they received the balance on Monday, April 27, 2020 during which time, the owner was sending me texts reminders about the balance of the money. Okay, well, when the ABF truck arrived at its destination on the 1st of May, and I opened up the bulkhead (Two Twins And a Truck owner did not know what this was) some of my items immediately fell to the floor - this is how I know they did NOT pack my things properly. If they were real professionals, they would have known to use a tie-down & this action would not have happened. Upon inspection, I saw heavy furniture half-way in the air that should have been packed on the floor of the truck, for example, my fireplace/entertainment cabinet, my coffee tables. I saw iron bed posts in the air that was protruding & leaving a mark into other furniture, and I saw other heavy items placed on top of my glass table. I did not move anything for fear they would tumble down on me, that's how bad this company's packing abilities are. So I waited for the new movers to come unpack me... The new packers arrived to unpack me the next day on Saturday, May 2nd and as they were unpacking me, this was when I saw the full extent of the POOR, IRRESPONSIBLE & WRECKLESS packing committed by the company Two Twins And a Truck operating in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. These Jokers ruined my furnitures. They damaged my dining table by ripping apart the base of the dining table. I had only asked them to take off the top alone NOT to break & rip up my table. Also, they broke my vacuum in two, damaged the foot of my fireplace and light brown sofa and broke my Matrix China stand. As you can imagine, I called them the same day, no one answered, so I left a message, short & precise. Then I proceeded to text them the pictures of the damage they did to my furnitures as suggested by the new movers. Would you believe it took them till May 8th to say something? And this was because I kept texting pictures of newly discovered damaged furniture as proof of their POOR packing. I spoke to the wife of the owner who tried to say that there is no proof that they damaged my furniture LOL So I guess my furnitures just had enough on the day before I was moving, and decided to damage themselves??? 2 Twins & a Truck is NOT a capable moving company point blank & the period

They just used a van and a truck since running a large truck for two items would have cost more and been ridiculous. They blanketed and wrapped the items and were strong, careful and very professional. Demarcus and Daquan are very sweet and they enjoy working hard and have a good time together. Moving can be stressful but they keep it light and dont get frustrated. They moved my friend and it was a house full of furniture. Talk about a very stressful situation but they were courteous and professional and even the soon to be Ex-husband was impressed and wanted to hire them. They had a big truck and an extra guy and they were quick and efficient. They didnt even mind having to drop off at two different spots (storage bldg and house). They were also really sweet about me giving them instructions. I have used them three times now and each move came with its challenges. They were wonderful about adjusting to the challenges and keeping a professional and happy attitude. They are highly recommended to all my friends and clients.

One got hurt taking something off a piece of furniture that did not have to be removed, and I know this because it had been moved by another company when we moved to NC. They looked like they were just picked up off the street and given a job with no clue what to do. After he got hurt we waited for someone to come and replace him and no one came. So he did what he could with one hand and were not able to finish the packing the truck which is what they were hired to do. That sat stuff on my dressers and scratched one and also our TV stand. My son-in-law helped them a lot and that should not have ever happened. No refund or any reduction in price was given for the help they received or for the time wasted. Unfortunately, this was the biggest mistake we've made in a very long time. The movers who showed up that day were friendly, but that was the only good thing about hiring this "company". I sent a specific and detailed list of items to be moved and the owner, Kevin, estimated a 4 hour job based on that list. He rented a 26 foot U-Haul for the job based on this estimate as well. He was not present on the day of the move, but sent two other movers. The 4 hour estimate turned into 9.5 hours by the end of the day, and the items I had listed to be moved did not all fit in the truck, so some things had to be left behind. When the crew arrived at our destination, a new construction neighborhood, they drove the truck up onto the yard across the street from us while attempting to back into the driveway, destroying the neighbors' newly laid wet sod into a muddy pit. Not a great start for us, as we had not even met these new neighbors yet. I had reached out to Kevin to come help his team unload the truck that evening, since we were already double the time estimated and the price was climbing by the minute. Instead of settling into our new home that evening, we had to be up early to drive the hour back to our apartment the next day to help him load up the rest of our belongings into his truck, as well as our truck. This was unlike any hired mover experience we'd ever had. Not only did the job drag out for many hours past the estimate, then we had to go back the next day and take a truckload of things ourselves. Good thing we also have access to a pickup truck because all the items would not have fit in my sedan. We have tried and tried to get Big Kev to work with the people across the street to get the lawn repaired, but he is refusing to make this mistake right, and he was reluctant to put a claim through insurance. He has had plenty of opportunities in the ONE FULL MONTH since the move. We never saw any proof of insurance in this whole ordeal, though the company is advertised as being insured and bonded. We have countless broken items, paid well over the original estimate AND the yard across the street is still not repaired. We had a new washing machine that was only a few months old. They dropped it while unloading it from the truck, putting three large dents in the front and sides, but would not take anything off the total on the day of the move because "the damage was only cosmetic". We had not plugged in the washing machine or tried to see if it worked before they made that claim. We are very disappointed in this whole experience. We chose a Yelp Guaranteed business because we thought that was on the safe side, but we have had nothing but stress over this. While we are very sad and discouraged over the state of our own personal items, we are more concerned with making the issue of the damaged front yard right again for our new neighbors. When I tried to check in with Kevin about the neighbor's property, he said that he "has it handled". It is not handled. There are good reviews here but please save yourself the hassle and avoid this company to handle your move. I've seen no evidence of being "bonded and insured" since he was so adamant about not wanting to put a claim through insurance to make things right with the destroyed lawn and your inevitably damaged property will remain damaged. The "Yelp Guarantee" does not mean anything, so don't let that trick you because they are no help in this situation and do not hold those businesses with the Yelp Guarantee stamp to any kind of standards. Original Quote: 4 hours at $120= $480 Truck rental fee: estimated $100-$110 Quote Total: Est $590 Actual Charges: 9 hours at $120= $1,080 Truck Rental fee: $200 Total Charged: $1280 Additionally, we now have to replace the broken items and repair damages out of pocket.
