We popped in here in July 2007 for an evening meal after being given a flyer for it by a man on the street outside. The bar/restaurant downstairs is only a small place, and very dark...there weren't many people there on the night we went, despite it being peak tourist season, which is never a good sign! We weren't very impressed with the food either - I wanted to try the Irish stew, but it had a strange taste and I couldn't actually eat it. However the lovely staff couldn't do enough for us - when they came to collect our plates and saw I hadn't eaten much they gave us a full refund which they didn't have to do at all, and which we really appreciated. It was a shame about the food, but we couldn't fault the friendly service, and if they've improved the food then we'd go back!
I've given it three stars - the food was 0 stars, but the service was 5 stars! They had a small Irish band and dancers on later on in the evening which was nice; we would go back as long as they improved the food a little! read more
