Filed return May 31st... IRS refund status keeps showing no…read morerecord of filing. So I call my preparer, he never returns my phone calls. I called back he still is not available. In the meantime I get berated & lied to by the office clerk. She tells me that she can send my tax information and I can file it myself but I just spent $200 for a fee for YOU to file it. Come to find out they never filed my paperwork at all and without my knowledge submitted a non-filing verification form with the IRS. So I get a random letter from the IRS in the mail saying that they did not receive my tax return. It is now almost August and I am starting this same filing procedure from scratch, which sucks because I became unemployed 3 months ago and was counting on having this done. I still have not received a phone call not once from my preparer but I will be giving a less than stellar review. Customer service & professionalism has been beyond poor. This is my first yelp review ever so you can imagine my dissatisfaction with this company. I will be asking for a full refund of my filing fee and I will not do business at any JHewitt anywhere in the country.

I hired Rita as I had to be out of the state of Illinois for so many months due to my sister being on a respirator for weeks in the hospital, not in Illinois. My sister did eventually die from COVID19 once she was taken off of the respirator. I had to move my elderly mother back to Illinois in which took me months. Over a year later, I found out that Rita did NOT file my 2019 taxes, did NOT find out why IDOR was sending me back tax letters, and now, she's told me that she has lost my only copy of my 2018 taxes. I did not receive the second stimulus check due to the fact that Rita did NOT do what she was hired to do. I will not receive the third stimulus check either, until my CPA Attorney files my 2019 and now, 2020 taxes. I had to order my 2018 Tax Return Transcript myself as Rita supposedly "lost" my file. She actually told me this over the phone. How does a licensed CPA "lose" your file? They do NOT! My CPA Tax Attorney said that I've been lied to due to the fact that Rita did not do her job and has cost me hundreds of dollars in penalties and fees. I would give her a 0 if I could, but the YELP system makes you pick a 1 instead.
