I just received a call from a woman named Griselda from "billing" stating that they have been…read moretrying to get a hold of me in regard to a bill that I owe from a procedure in June. I explained I have no idea who she is, and I have been paying my doctor directly. She said they have no association with the doctor, their billing is separate, and that they've sent notices to my house. She then gave me an address that these notices were sent to on a house I sold 3 years prior to my surgery. I explained that I have an active stalker case right now, and for her to call with old info that I hadn't had in over three years regarding a procedure from this year seemed extremely odd. She got rude with me and kept rambling on about the money I owed. I told her she was rude, unprofessional, and that I wouldn't give out information from a facility I had never heard of. I hung up and called my doctor immediately. I am waiting for a call back so they can verify WHY this woman is calling me with old information. Even if this is the facility that my doctor used, why on earth would you call a patient and treat them this way right off the bat without listening to them? I get it, there is an outstanding balance THAT I HAD NO IDEA EXISTED, and if they were trying to reach me, HOW did they have old info from three years ago when I just started using this doctor this year? Then, to be rude on top of it, when I explained the active stalker case and how this line of questioning was making me uncomfortable... It's uncalled for. I paid almost 7k in cash for this procedure, and here this place comes out of the woodwork 5 months later, saying they have been trying to get a hold of me. No thanks. Do better billing team.

It has affected my sleep, my confidence, I've had to put goop in my eye for the last 15 months to try and keep my eye moist. I've been back 10 times trying to get her to correct it and each time she gaslights me telling me to give it more time, and dry eyes is normal for my age (60). And that no one can tell, etc. but my eyes don't match. She did give me some Botox to try and help the situation. She is a dishonest person and there is constant turnover in staff.

She knew it was a lot coming at me all at once so she would review it all patiently while I took it all in. I had bloodwork taken for my genetic testing and was provided my next appointment. Nurse Terri will also be the advocate, giving me any assistance I may require during it all. I felt confident that my treatment was in great hands.

I couldn't figure out what was wrong, I just decided to go forward with treatment at that time. I went in to see Dr. Sequerra and he immediately knew what was wrong, my brain was swelling, he sent me to the hospital for a MRI, and sure enough my cancer has spread to my brain. I visited his office on Michigan St. recently (7/3/17) for issues with my vocal stamina as well as recurring headaches. When I arrived, I had come unprepared as I had left information they had requested at home. (Derp.) The wonderful lady at the front desk was very polite with me and made phone calls to gather the information. I can only imagine how annoying people like myself must be when they forget EVERYTHING, however, she never blinked and eye and I was back to see Dr. Lehman in no time. The nurse who assisted with Dr. Lehman was extremely nice as was the doctor. I felt like they both listened to my issues and asked detailed questions. I was also very impressed with the questions about my recurring headaches. I have spoken with two other doctors prior who brushed these weekly episodes off as allergies/sinus issues. Luckily, Dr. Lehman ordered a CT scan of the area the headaches keep affecting so we can see what is going on inside this head of mine. Someone took me seriously! Thank you! Seriously, thank YOU. As with the vocal issues, I was sent to see a vocal therapist in the building during the same appointment who did a scope and found my problem which is a polyp. Again, wow! One appointment and I know why my voice is strained. I love it! He even showed me a few techniques to utilize in order to help this issue as it heals. I have a couple of follow up appointments with Dr. Lehman and his staff in the coming months and I'm happy to go. Yes, HAPPY to go. I felt respected and validated with my concerns with the first visit. I wish all doctors treated their patients so well. I feel like one of the "lucky ones!"
