Not to say that we didn't want to. But we did take a long, hard look at the area. Because hey, it's what we do. On a somewhat exploratory trip to Nayarit, we contacted Sayulita Coastal Properties in advance with the hopes of being able to get a lay of the land and learn what the market is currently doing in Sayulita. I'm super glad we picked this outfit. First off, Gabriel Gallegos is born and raised in the area, very well-educated, speaks impeccable English, and knows this market like the back of his hand. He agreed to meet up with us and took time to tour us around the area, explaining in-depth what the market currently looks like, various hurdles to buying in the region, and showed off a wide array of what's available. Within about an hour and a half we had a solid grasp on what's what in the Sayulita market, and have a lot of food for thought to go home and snack upon (metaphorically). Also, he wrote a book on how to buy property in Mexico, and what the differences are in regards to financing, ownership restrictions, etc. I was rolling with two real estate agents on this trip, and so we were able to ask the hard questions. We were all very satisfied with Gabriel's approach, his knowledge, and his demeanor. There is simply no question that when we come back to town on a more serious mission (note I said "when," not "if") we'll be working directly with Gabriel. I can't recommend his services highly enough. He seems well-connected, know's what is up, and he registers quite low on the bullshit meter (yeah, that's crass, but I know a lot of sleazy realtors, and this guy definitely doesn't seem to be one). They helped is purchase the land we built or house on, and then helped us through the legalities of the entire build process even though they did not have to do this. Utterly amazing service. Also a huge shout out to Keylen the amazing office assistant who keeps the pace running and was always on top of everything. All the staff speak English so communication is not an issue.

He sent an information form which I filled out, along with photos of all the major/big items to be moved. He quoted me an estimate lower then the 1st quote, so I hired him. On the day of the move, he called me to let me know he was running about 20 minutes late (Roberto is fluent in English). Pretty unusual to have that happen here. He arrived and his crew got right to work. They plastic wrapped anything that could be damaged in the move. They were fast, efficient, and very fun and friendly. They did a great job. Ernesto promised 1 week of free stay on 1 month rental as compensation for all the trouble, but after yet again empty promise ignores messages and calls of the customer.
