I see where the other reviews are very favorable but my experience wasn't too good. I took an antique clock for repair and cleaning. Robert said it would cost $60 to clean the clock and $240 to repair it. But he added he wasn't sure he could repair it and sure enough, he couldn't. So far, so good. But then he demanded $100 for his failed efforts to repair the clock. That part was not discussed up front and I think it should have been. read more

But I did and his name is Robert and he his partner is Syl! If you're clock needs repair or just some TLC don't hesitate but immediately call Robert! Have a Howard Miller, repaired a few months ago by clock repair found on A's List. Repair didn't last. So went to yelp (have dropped Angie altogether) where I go for EVERYthing now, & found Robert Terwilliger, who definitely seems to be a Master Clockmaker! He repaired the previous "repair" for a MUCH lower price, did it in 1/2 the time he estimated (much quicker than previous repair co) & provided a 1yr warranty. Always immediately available for my questions/concerns (unlike other co.)Very professional receipt (unlike other co.), excellent price, Mr. T definitely inspires confidence & delivers 1st quality workmanship. If you value your clock, stay away from Terwilliger Clock Repair. I left my antique clock there for repairs since it would sporadically stop running and Mr. Terwilliger told me it only needed to be cleaned and oiled and it would cost $100. The next day he called to tell me I should come pick up the clock as he was being evicted and he had oiled it and it was running. When I went the next day he then told me it needed a major overhaul and he couldn't do it but I still had to pay $100 for his time. Now I have a clock that still stops running and he has my $100! BEWARE - Better RETHINK taking your clock here. I asked him if he could fix my clock, sent him a picture. He replied yes he could. So, I took it to him. He wanted a deposit first, $100.00. Then contacted me a few days later to inform me he COULD NOT repair my clock. He did not even take the time to TRY to repair the clock. And then preceded to charge me $150.00 to pick it up. So, as you can see, he is just a GIGANTIC rip off. Please try to find someone else to repair the clock, he is only looking to earn living without paying taxes on the money, and taking you for a ride. read more

I do not recommend this service. When I contacted Robert Terwilliger, he agreed to come to my house to service and repair an antique grandfather clock. He told me that he would need $250 cash for this service. Mr. Terwilliger came with a co-worker, who he directed to do the various tasks. Mr. Terwilliger's co-worker worked for about an hour, and then they told me that the clock was working fine. Within 15 minutes of their departure, the clock stopped working. I called the next day, and he told me to restart it, over the next few days every time it stopped, by pushing the pendulum. I did that, to no avail, and called Mr. Terwilliger a few days later. He informed me that I needed to disassemble the clock and take it to him, whereupon he would clean it for $350, and then I would need to take it back to my house and assemble it myself. When I asked him about the $250 that I already paid him, he told me that that money was gone, and that he would not stand by his work. When I told him that, if I followed his request for the additional money and transporting and assembling the clock myself, he could always say that the clock wasn't working because of my mistakes, not his, he told me that was a possibility. What kind of business does not stand by its work, and then asks for more money with no guarantee that my prized family possession will work at the conclusion of the service? read more
