She's still going well into her retirement, at the fine old age of 32. Tramore & Waterford racecourse remains almost the same. The familiar field carpark. The old stands. And the parade ring is still charmingly small. The weigh room looks the same, but a another small stand between the parade ring and the horses yard is gone. There are a few additions too, notably the kids area. It looked like mighty fun, even if it was raining. Wish that was here when I was a child. That said my memories of T&W RC remain happy ones. Nothing beat a warm sunny day at the August festival here. If you are in the area at all and there's a meeting on, go racing!!

Great! nice way to spend a couple of hours…read more It's not a riding school in the traditional sense, it's more a place to go to for treks and walks through the countryside. The horses are lively, and the instruction was earthy and direct. You're likely to be told "wallop him" or "give him a good kick in the ribs, you're just flapping at fresh air". Which is nice as it's rare you're given useful tips or that you're allowed free rein with your horse at a rental. Having said that, the staff do their best to line you up with something suiting your skills, and then trust you to live up to that. Great scenery, and lovely treks along a beautiful lake. The people are also very friendly.

Splashworld has 2 big slides for kids one dark and one light that have twists and turns. It has a small slide into the main pool ideal for young kids. There is a toddlers area aswell with slides and such in a child themed way. there is a small lazy river for kids and adults alike. Every 15 or 30 minutes there is a wave machine turned on which can be enjoyed by all but i wouldnt recommend for toddlers. There are lifeguards on duty at all times including the 2 big slides. There is a sauna(steamroom) in the pool area for adults to relax and a viewing area for the non swimmers. And if your staying in the pebblebeach resort you can get a discount for your trip to splashworld. Splashworld is great entertainment for all the family. Upstairs is a fully equipped gym. Great family friendly changing rooms. In addition to one-off usage, various memberships are available, including short-term membership for summer holidays. You won't want to stray off the fairways, can be punishing. If you do, at least it's scenic - overlooking the beautiful River Suir and the River Suir Valley. The cliff on the other side of the valley is a very popular target - whether deliberate or not. There's a substantial section for juniors, who are encouraged to get out often. The Restaurant fare is typical of its ilk: traditional and solid. The clubhouse is uninspiring - but some decent views out over the course.

Kiltorcan Raceway:…read more Our company booked a group Grand Prix session at Kiltorcan Raceway during September 2019. From start to finish everything and everyone at Kiltorcan Raceway was amazing and accommodating! The booking process was easy, on arrival the staff were extremely welcoming (there's also a seating area with pool table for use when waiting!). The way the race worked and all the rules of the Raceway were clearly explained and as it was a dull and rainy day we were offered protective jumpsuits and gloves to wear. Once we were all kitted out it was straight to the track! The karts were all ready and waiting for us and we were shown how to use them and had the opportunity to adjust the seating to our liking with a staff member. Once the practice laps and race were under way the staff were jotted around the track to be on hand should any karts spin out or hit the tyre walls. Once the race was over we had an award ceremony for the top three drivers as offered by the Raceway and they also accommodated our group bringing our own trophies for a longer award ceremony too! Altogether Kiltorcan Raceway was an absolutely brilliant activity for our staff day out! A really professional outfit with lovely and helpful staff I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who was looking for a group activity in the area!!

Tramore's hidden heart. Worth a visit at any time of year. It's a long walkway through a small…read morehidden park along the cliff-face. Access through a small doorway halfway up Church Road, walk through the park, past the cannons of long sunken ships, the sea-cliff cottages, the tennis courts, and exit by the desolately haunted barracks into Love Lane. It's my favourite walk in Tramore - the whole beach and bay sweep before you. On a windy winter's day you have the best view of the sea-horses and surf stretching all the way to the open sea 3 miles away.

That doesn't mean that you're sheltered from the sea-winds - you'll notice that a lot of the trees and gorse bushes have that slanted appearance where one side has been stunted by harsh sea winds, giving away the direction of the prevailing south westerlies. The course lay-out and some of the holes have recently been remodelled. Juniors are encouraged to play, but during restricted times. The restaurant fare is typical - predictable and solid. The clubhouse has some great views over the course from here.

A couple of miles outside Tramore is Kilfarrasy Beach. Wonderfully isolated in winter, and never…read moretoo packed in summer. It's a lovely sandy beach for about a mile before curving around a headland into a rock-climbing paradise. It has everything you want from a beach - high cliffs to shelter you from the wind, a small stream, sand for castles, high rocks for climbing, caves for exploring. It also banks steeply, so you don't have to wade for hours before getting down for your dip. It can sometimes tend to have flies in summer, which isn't great. You'll also need to keep an eye out for the tide coming in...it's very quick, and punters with trousers wet up to their knees or even mid-thigh is a pretty common sight.
