Our pantry used a hodge-podge of old used shelves resulting in a chaotic dis-organization. We visited several shelf system companies and decided to use the Closet Factory. We like that they have their factory right there to custom build each shelf system. They came and measured everything, taking note of some A/C vents in the walls, and in an hour with a CAD program designed an optimal arrangement of shelves, drawers, and baskets for our stuff. The new shelves are so effective, they, at least, doubled our pantry storage capacity. It was installed perfectly, and we couldn't think of how to improve it further. It is a bit expensive, but well worth the cost in quality and value. read more

We had a closet done 7 years ago by Closet Factory and gave them a bad review. There was a hiccup in the installation of one side item. A Murphy bed that could have been a real problem with some guests we were expecting. Anyways, in the years since, we love that closet like crazy, and the Murphy bed was eventually fixed. When we contacted them for a new closet closet in a new house, we found out that the problem we had with our Murphy bed several years ago was because our contact person had retired so our communications with them were not received. If I had known at the time it would have been an easy problem to solve. And to be sure, the experience our contact person brought to the job was what made the difference... drawers sized well and a display cabinet for some of my pretty things... more than enough space for shoes and dressing and a good use of the storage areas. She had ideas we'd never have had if we did it on our own (and which closet factory's competitors didn't address in their bids and suggestions). We will check to see if they've got another designer with as much experience, but the quality of their work (other than that one hiccup that got solved before our guests arrived), made for closets that my friends envied. And to be sure, when friends noticed a new member of our group was visiting my house, they'd insist that the new member get a home tour to include my closet! Seriously, my closets were so nice that friends wanted other friends to see it. It was kind of funny, but nice. And the way this closet lasted over the years (and helped sell the house once we were ready to move), is well worth a 5 star review! read more

This was probably one of the worst customer experiences we've ever had. Their designer was amazing, but everything else was absolutely terrible. We went through Costco and I regret every second of this. They promised things they never did, did crappy work and would call last minute to do work. Avoid this like the plague. I contracted with their excellent design lady (Becky Sharpe, now retired) for a living room wall unit having shelves, drawers cabinets, etc---very nice and they did a good job. Later I worked with Becky again and she submitted a very practical desk under one window---again----nice job. Unfortunately a strip of the material used for the desktop surface right along the front surface came loose and made using the desk uncomfortable----I called and spoke to Addison re having a crew stop by and fix this small but unsightly as well as uncomfortable,,,,,,,,Finally sent a text to her phone this many months later asking if there was a way I could get a new strip for the front edge and perhaps repair it myself (I am 90 and not a super good repair person--also have no tools etc.). Hopefully Addison will call me back soon-----I know many folks in this retirement community have used Closet Factory and they seemed satisfied---- These two projects were not cheap and I thought the design was excellent......the service-----not so much unfortunately.... Worked through this company here in Phoenix on three separate occasions. Found them through Costco Initially did our master bedroom. Then the other three bedroom closets and then finished up with the laundry room. In every case, the designers were excellent to work with. The initial master bedroom has been the real problem. Initially 3 of the drawers in 1 section started to go delaminate or separate from the veneer or whatever coating is used on these. The delamination started with three drawers right in the middle of a cabinetry section. The company initially thought it was water damage, but could not locate any damage above or below the three drawers in the middle of the section. The person who came to do the assessment said it must be an assembly defect and The company was gracious enough to replace the drawers facing per their lifetime warranty. A follow up issue happened with the laundry basket below the drawers started to delaminate the same way as the drawers... However, on this encounter the company refused to replace it under their warranty program and claimed it was water damage. I assured the person on the phone that this facing on the laundry basket area aligned with the drawers just above it from the previous damage, but she insisted... Without seeing it and only through The use of photos that I sent her...... keep in mind that we've spent over $50,000 in cabinet services from them with all the rooms I spoke of earlier. They are now refusing to repair this laundry basket face. They are planning on charging us $165. obviously the price is not the issue... It's the principle of them not sticking behind their lifetime warranty. there are plenty of closet companies out there offering similar lifetime warranties. I would definitely look to another company besides closet factory. Our plans to continue closet work in the Casita as well as another property will not be done by this company. It is a shame that a company would lose a loyal customer of $165 It's just one person's humble opinion about a company. Save yourself a headache in the future and move on from the closet factory if they are one of your choices read more

Outstanding commitment to their product. We bought a house recently and ended up damaging the tilt out laundry basket pins. We contacted Closet Factory to pay to have it repaired- and they offered to fix it for free! Since the closet system was installed in 2013, I was amazed and pleased, not only given the time that had passed but also bc we were not even the original purchaser. No questions asked about how it happened, they just wanted to make sure it was fixed. Great service. read more

Elysia worked with us to create the space we wanted and it turned out even better than we had expected. I love my condo but for years I slowly fell out of love with my master bath. The main problem was there was no linen closet and the tub was massive and wasted space. Last year we remodeled our bathrooms and in mine, after we removed that oversized tub and enlarged my shower there was huge but odd shaped space- not the fault of Jacuzzi (they did a wonderful job) but it was simply due to the existing odd shape of my bathroom. Because of this weird area we decided simply having someone put up shelves was not going to work and buying a manufactured cabinet and installing it would not have worked either. We wanted to use all the space that was freed up but really didn't know how to go about it. My husband loves Costco and while there one day he found the brochure to Closet Factory Phoenix. Gina D. from Closet Factory Phoenix came to our home. She was lovely, kind and knew her stuff. The entire process was easy. She took a look at the space, showed me different looks and colors, brought several samples of cabinet doors and hardware to choose from and then took the measurements. She entered all the relevant information into her program the computer animation showed me my closet! The estimate was very within budget so after a few weeks (the holidays came during this time) we decided to go ahead and have them start the process of building the closet. Since this closet was built off site we had a 4 week wait until it was finished. Gina emailed us to clarify everything and to double check the handles we picked and then we were put on the schedule. We did have to delay the installation due to flooring install running late, a death, then a four week bout with pneumonia- obviously non of this was Closet Factory's fault. But once we called them to get the installation appointment set again we were scheduled for a date two weeks away. There was a hiccup came installation day. We received a confirmation email with date and time a week before but something fell through the cracks because no one called and no one came. We were not on the schedule. Lesson learned: call any company the day before and verify you are on the books; do not rely solely on emails. We called and they made it right and the next morning Ryan T. showed up. He did a wonderful job installing the closet. He worked by himself and I could tell he knew what he was doing. The closet took a few hours to install and a few shelves had to be recut but he was gone and back within 45 minutes. All of the measurements Gina took that first day were spot on for this oddly shaped space, I have to say I was impressed! Ryan was a pleasure to have in my home. He was friendly, professional and never once chatted on his cell phone (which is a pet peeve of mine) and left my bathroom spotless when he was finished with his work. I am so very happy with my new closet! I already have visions of closets dancing around in my head to be remodeled! I have no hesitation in recommending Closet Factory Phoenix. I recently had a major home remodel and decided to have my closets replaced. My small house (1000 sq ft) was built in 1966. There has never been enough storage. She helped us with a design that is both functional and fitting to our budget. Usually the installation lead time is a couple of weeks. With our request to have the installation sooner, Bree helped us secure an early installation date which helped our family's moving plan, and we really appreciate her support throughout this entire process. Generally disappointed in my Closet Factory experience. We had our consultation back in January and our wall bed unit installed in the middle of July. We were warned up front about the 6 month lag time, so no issue there. When the installers got to our house, they said that the consultant/designer was off by 2 and a half feet--the installers mentioned that one to two inches was understandable, but 2 and a half feet was unprecedented. This caused a significant delay in installation, as the team had to recut wood, etc. to accommodate the incorrect measurement. The install team was hard at work basically until 5:00, at which point they quickly finished the job and left. After quickly inspecting the unit, our bottom left drawer is (and remains) crooked, the installers left pencil markings all over the unit where they were measuring, and there are several aesthetic blemishes (i.e., chipped paint, missing paint, off-textured paint) covering the unit. We've now called or emailed four different times and still cannot get a service team out to fix these issues. We are receiving discount service, but paid a custom/luxury price (over $5K). The worst part? We were patient about the 2 and a half feet botched measurement, the crooked drawer and the aesthetic issues, and the Closet Factory has still not acknowledged these issues. Not a "sorry to hear that" or "we understand why this is upsetting." Nope, just a "you are in the queue and we will get a service team out when we can." It's now been 6 weeks..... There must be a better provider in Phoenix than the Closet Factory--one that will carefully measure, stay an additional half hour to do things right, and even respond when there's an issue. read more

Gustavo Angel stopped by for a consultation on a storage idea. He presented himself well and took measurements to work up an estimate and renderings. During the consultation, he mentioned a number of things one of which was a lifetime warranty on the hardware. We made some tweaks to the rendering after we got them and decided to move forward. He sent a contract for us to sign. I went through the contract line by line comparing it to the estimate and there were numerous disconnects between the two documents. 1) The contract did not mention a lifetime warranty. Instead, it made vague references to a warranty (not lifetime). The warranty issue felt like a bait and switch tactic. I requested clarification. 2) The contract stated that a "3rd party" would be doing the work. I asked if the "3rd party" was licensed, bonded and insured. 3) The contract had numerous clauses that seem to leave the door open for Costco or Closet Factory to add additional cost to the project for things like pre-existing conditions, and building permits. If they said it had to be done and we didn't they could cancel the project. I asked, for example, if a building permit was necessary for a closet cabinet (I don't think it is). I asked if their "3rd party" made these recommendations do we have the option to get a second opinion from a licensed contractor. This question and others were greeted with "crickets." I sent a follow-up email asking about the questions and again the response was "crickets." If this is a reputable operation, my questions should be easily answered. If there is a customer-focused business, the questions should have been answered within a couple of days but that timespan has elapsed, hence the review. Looking at other negative reviews, I dodged a bullet. read more

We ordered a QUEEN SIZE wall bed unit - (wall bed/desk/night stand) from this company. We also upgraded the bed frame to a more expensive one. and waited months for the installation. The cost was $8,688. After it was installed last week and we went to buy a standard queen size mattress for the unit, the mattress would not fit into the frame. We left messages for our salesperson Kyndra to call us back, which she never did. She finally replied to my email that I would need a 10 inch high mattress to fit in the frame. The problem is not just the height , it is also the width. The frame of the bed unit is not a queen size frame. The most frustrating part is that no one from the company is offering a solution or being responsive. They sure were quick to take our money! This unit is not worth the money and now we don't even have a bed!! They need to FIX this and remake the wall bed unit. I cannot believe this company has such poor business ethics. read more

I hired Closet Factory to install some custom cabinets and a Murphy bed. I couldn't be happier with the process and the product. We ordered the unit about 12 weeks before install. When we signed the contract they gave us an install date, install time, and completion schedule. To my amazement they did everything exactly as they said they would at the exact time (in my experience there are usually some delays with any construction project). Our designer was great. If anyone is thinking of having custom cabinets installed by the Closet Factory through Costco you should reconsider. We had them do the master closet and home office. My wife called them in late March to schedule a time for them come out to fix a couple of things and they said it would be a couple of weeks. I called in mid-April and got the same story. I called again in late May and again got the same story. I called them again in mid-June and the person told me they would find out what the issue is and call me back. It has been a week and I still have not received a call back. We also used California Closets for the laundry room and have had no issues with the product or installation. The Design Consultant, David Slivinski, was on site during the install making sure everything was done correctly and to our satisfaction. This is something that didn't happen with the Closet Factory. You will get a rebate going through Costco, but in the long run California Closets might be the better option. read more

My closet designer was Becky Sharpe and she was awesome! Very patient, knowledgeable and communicative. My installer was prompt, courteous and went above and beyond. Vacuumed my carpet and helped me scrape off some old glue.. Patched holes in the wall and would've painted but I didn't have any paint. Left the closet in pristine condition and even wiped it down so it smelled fresh, new, lemony! As a realtor, I will definitely refer closet factory to all of my clients. I will leave this closet here when I sell or rent and higher closet factory again for my next home! Anything is possible. They really helped me take a small space and make it much more functional. We ordered closets via Costco with Closet Factory as our vendor. They booked 6 months out for install, and we did not hear anything until the end of the month. Without hearing ANYTHING from this vendor, we opted to cancel and refund (which they also said they would not charge us until install but instead charged us on initial encounter). Then two days later, they call us with a plan to install within 4 business days. Addison, who was incredibly rude to my wife and ultimately hung up on my wife and denied doing so later, was unwilling to discuss an alternate install date. I notified Costco again and our initial salesperson about our wish to cancel and request refund. I called CF and spoke with Addison 4/25 and she was incredibly rude to me again, that they are best in the business and that installs are 6 months out which is great I'm happy for companies to blossom, but then went on that install could get pushed out further, refused a refund and discussing a different install date as I work two jobs and am unable to call off for cabinet install or leave my pregnant wife and toddler alone with strangers in the home which she was very unwilling to empathize with. She said she would call me back at the end of the day for potential alternative install date and never did. I advised Costco, again of the situation. I updated Kimberly, our sales rep of our wish to cancel and refund (again) to wish she felt it was more appropriate to advise a life lesson rather than experience recovery at this point. As of May2, I have NOT heard from CF and am waiting for Costco to hear back from them, STILL, for potential install dates to which at this point we are adamant about canceling the service and refunding the money they charged without services rendered. Update:5/5 they continue to ask for install, I've advised no install and need refund. Costco updated and no reply from CF. 5/9: they won't return my emails and no word on refund YET. Will continue to write reviews of our terrible experience with this dishonest vendor and rude office worker. read more
