When it comes to consignment shopping, I feel the typical consignor and shopper are accustomed to a certain aesthetic and experience. But Closet NV certainly breaks the mold on all accounts. I frequent their most recent location in Birmingham (right off of Maple and Woodward) and cannot express enough how impressed I am by the quality of the merchandise, the impeccable customer service from the owners and staff, and have you SEEN the store ... you are transplanted to a little boutique in SOHO. You certainly do not feel like you are in a consignment shop (no smells, not cramped and busting at the seams with merchandise, and not dark/dingy). You walk into a bright, sunlit space with lots of space, clean/lightly loved merchandise, and the experience is bar none. Mind you, this consignment store is luxury only - that means no J. Crew, BeBe, Gap, etc... only boutique designers like Burberry, Gucci, BCBG, just to name a few! If you have not visited the store, you are missing out!!!! They are seasonal too - which means you can scoop up some fabulous items for Spring/Summer now! The selection is so impressive -- one of a kind, very unique and beautiful items! Today I officially became a consignor/customer after purchasing a fabulous bracelet I could not resist! Closet envy IS as good as it gets. The best staff of any store in the area. They are truly concerned that their customers get great clothes that look great on them as well. Almost every visit to this gem of a store has been a success for me. I have found many of my very favorite" Go To" clothing pieces here. They get their consignments from all over the country so I have many items that I don't see sold or worn here. Kudos to the closet envy owners and staff who beautifully edit the incoming pieces. I have been to many consignment shops but have never found a boutique even comparable to Closet NV! Closet NV not only has unbelievable, one of a kind, quality merchandise, the staff offers customers their time and honesty, no matter the price of the item. Closet NV is one of a kind. Not only is it a great place where I can find vintage clothing that no one else has, but it is top of the line designer brands sold for extremely cheap prices. The managers are the friendliest and funniest people ever (who even is cookie p)! Shopping here is like hanging out with my girlfriends, yet I get to leave with great one of a kind items.
