Today was a terrible experience and it being my 2nd time. I left a message written for mgmt. to call me back after being told " they don't like their numbers given out" by an associate at the children's store. Therefore, I left a handwritten complaint. The ladies today Denae and Jasmyn both really need customer service training. When you ask a question it's like you're being talked to as if you are a child. I asked what's the sale and discount today and Denae says " by point to the board on the damn wall behind the cash register and then proceed to say it's also posted on the door or something she said. I didn't respond. No smiles at all from either one of them. Walking into the store Denae says welcome, but Jasmyn never opened her mouth. She acts like she is a little snooty. My first bad experience happened about 1-2 months ago and I let it slide. I cleaned my closet out during spring break dropped bag off and came back nothing was touched. Denae says it had an Odor or something or smell likes cats. I told her ma'am I don't have any cats nor do I Like cats. She said, " we will take them if you want to wash them and bring them back". I looked at her and walked out the store. Bear in mind I came back a week a two later with the same clothes still in my bag, dealt with different Associates in the store and 1/2 of my large bag was taken. I saw my purses and clothes hanging in the store. This was an INSULT to me, but I did let it slide. Today I am not letting it slide. Then need to know how to talk to customers in a more professional way. Doing consignments is my side hustle, I have an online sells business too and I work Full time as well. I specifically called to see what items and clothing they take and also what type of bag it had to be in because I didnt want to drive from Gwinnett to be angry about petty things. I was told to put clothes in one bag and purse accessories in another and I could bring 2 garbage bags. I get there the next day and the lady says oh we only take one bag at a time, but you can bring the other bag back tomorrow. . I think they did it on purse to keep people from coming to sell, because she stated I was the only person selling. But they don't know I am coming back tomorrow with my other bag . They are better than the one in buford, they don't take anything in Buford ‍. read more

Easy enough, payout just ok. I've been taking used kids items to Once Upon a Child next door and saw Clothes Mentor and decided to bring in two women's dresses. The check-in process was slow because only one person was working. But once I got to the front of the line it was easy - give them my phone and ID. Less than 30 minutes later I got a text that my items had been reviewed. I only received $5 for two dresses. I can't imagine they would only sell for $5 each but such is life. Since I was going next door to drop off kids clothes it was fine. I will prob take my clothes to Goodwill in the future but am not opposed to getting a few dollars for my adult clothes when I drop of kid items at Once Upon A Child... read more

These people did not greet me when I came in, they actually racially profiled me and told me I had to leave my bag at the counter and she snatched it from me! As I walked down the isles the other white employee was rude to me as well as the tall skinny black lady with blonde short hair was rude as well! SHE HAD A DISGUSTING ATTITUDE! This was my first visit to this location! I must say that the customer service experience was very pleasant. They were eager to assist in my shopping needs! This particular location had great products from designer handbags,shoes,and accessories as well! There products were In great condition as well! Christian and Jordan were extremely helpful associates. I read the other reviews and I must say we had an Amazing Experience and will refer other clients and will continue to shop at this location. This place is a crock. Don't bother trying to sell them your used clothes. I went to them because their website said they pay cash for designer items. I had many classic, high end designer pieces in great condition. First, they informed me they won't take women's business suits because "they don't sell well here." I got the same answer about the classic items I brought, including a Dana Buchman raincoat, Talbots silk skirt, and Tommy Bahama silk resort top and capris. Out of a large box and 2 large bags of clothing, all they wanted was 3 blouses and dozens of items costume jewelry, for which they offered to pay me $23 cash, or $27 store credit. What a waste of time! I looked through the items for sale, and the things I had were much better quality than much of what was in the store. I won't be patronizing them again. read more

After reading the reviews I was a little apprehensive! I decided to drop off a leather coat and a few other items just to see if I would get anything for my items. They sent me a text about :30 later informing me they had reviewed my items. I was very surprised and happy to received half of the selling price they would sell my items for. Keep in mind this is a consignment store not a thrift shop. They only take the best clothes items. I will return to make a purchase in the new year. read more

Based off the reviews I was a little concerned about visiting this location. I decided to use my own judgment and give them a chance. Let's just say I didn't even make it IN TO Clothes Mentor to sell nor buy anything. I called the store to ask a few questions before driving 30 minutes into their location and the young lady immediately answered the phone with an attitude! She was acting as if I was already supposed to know the answers to my questions! She even huffed and puffed when I asked for clarity, since she wasn't answering the questions to her full knowledge/potential. Needless to say. Truth be told I no longer needed these items and would have donated them. However I have to share that some unethical business practices are happening at this location. At the suggestion of a friend because I had high-end items from business travel, I drove a distance to sell clothing here (there isnt a store in my state). It's unfortunate, but I think some of the women are not logging items and are taking the clothing for themselves. Its the only way to explain what they offer for the amount of items they accept. In my case over 40 items, all brands Free People, Ralph Lauren, BCBG, Lucky Brand and Calvin Klein, some with price tags still on them, every item in excellent condition. In order for the offer to make sense they had to accept items they gave $0 for. If they valued the items at even 5% of the retail cost the offer would have been 3X the amount, minimum. This type of store can only survive with fairness and honesty. My experience was unfortunate. read more

Waste of your time taking clothes to this shop. Like many others, I recently retired and had a lot of professional suits, blazers, etc. and not one item was accepted; claiming out of fashion. This was totally ridiculous since I just bought them in the past 2-3 years. As I noticed the items they did seem to accept, and based on my walk around of their shop, it appears they take only legging's and stuff non-professionals wear. So they need to edit their web site for sure. read more
