We are so fortunate to have two excellent Clothes Mentors on this side of town! Littleton has a very different feel from Lone Tree. Things here are a bit more cozy, clothes are slightly more traditional, and it's not as fast-paced. You can tell the staff really care about their customers. First, I was not greeted or even acknowledged when I entered the store. It almost seemed like everyone in there knew each other. They had plenty of staff working which was great when I wanted to try on. Secondly, I had 3 items I wished to purchase, but wanted to look around some more so the sales person took my items and my name. When I was trying on additional clothes, they "lost" my 3 items. There was a lot of discussion about what they were, if they were put back on racks, etc. etc. Finally, someone realized they put them behind the counter with my name on them. The sales lady brought them to me while I was in the dressing room and handed them to me under the door (?). Not sure why....I had intended to purchase them anyway and she could have just easily left them at the counter instead of awkwardly handing them to me under the door. The checkout area of the store seemed a little disorganized with a lot of stuff in bags and stacked up. I will give them another shot because I got some really great deals on items that were new with tags and significantly discounted. This was my first experience with this store. I did not know what to expect when I ready some of the negative reviews but I am delighted to report that I was pleasantly surprised. The staff is very professional and super helpful. Linda, the owner is a gem and makes you feel special and welcomed. I brought in a bag with a ton of very nice clothes from Express, Banana Republic and BCBG. I had all clothes in a never been used (obviously) trash bag. Upon walking in and bringing my items in the bag to the front, a woman with short brown hair looked at me like I had just crawled out of the gutter. I don't know how to better describe it. She told me "We normally do not take clothing in...trash bags." She seemed absolutely disgusted that anyone would bring items into her very high class store in a trash bag. She let me know they need to be in an airy open bin lol Fair enough, but maybe post a sign since Manaus people default to a trash bag. If she had been polite, it wouldn't have been a big deal but she was horrible! I said she didn't have to take anything and then began to leave. She then called after me that "Things also needed to be freshly laundered." The items that were not brand new were washed and folded this morning. A few items had tags on them and had never even been worn! Example on the picture. Mind you, she NEVER even looked at the items in my bag! So she just assumed I hadn't washed anything. Horrible customer service, horrible employee. (I can't speak for the other employees. A woman with short blonde hair was very nice. I hope she finds better employment). Take your items elsewhere if being shamed isn't for you! I guess she expected me to go to Target and purchase a bin just for her store? They might have had some nice things but I will never return and I will make sure to tell everyone I know how horrible they treated me. I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman! I drove over an hour to drop off about 20 items and was told I'd have to come back in 2-3 days for them to decide what items they were interested in selling. 2 days and another hour's drive only to be told they were only interested in 3 items and offered $11 for all three, less than I could get at a garage sale. The associate knew I wasn't happy. There was very little explanation of why things were turned down. Don't waste your time like I did. read more

I had heard the Littleton store was under new ownership so I was excited. I brought in designer handbags including Coach, Hammitt, Frye, The Sac, Sven USA Berkeley and more! I brought Uggs, Borns, hand made sandals from a boutique in Galveston ( I never wore), designer shorts etc... When I walked in the attitude of the two older women behind the counter was less than kind. They looked at me like I had three heads! I put my things in the bins they suggested and said, "I'll wait for my items to be priced." They replied it would take DAYS!!! I was shocked. I told them on their website it states NO LONGER than 30 minutes and possibly one day if you have many items and people are in front of you. They said DAYS! The women were snobby, not accommodating, not welcoming and unfriendly. I will never do business with them again. I have no idea how they stay open! Several hours later....... The owner of this store called me and she was simply lovely. She apologized for the less than fabulous experience I had. I think the owner calling me because of this review shows integrity and solid character. She invited me to give her shop another try and I will. She promised there will be changes made. She was not present when I was at her shop. There are good people in this world and Linda (the owner) is one of them! read more

The service has gotten worse. I had been bringing newer and also brand new items which they would take. However, the last month or so the ladies are all now not helpful and have that attitude other people have been mentioning. They also now don't buy on the weekends. Do not bother if your attire is White House Black Market, Guess and so on. Not a place that accepts classy attire or anything later than 3 years old. Mentor my rear. Place is double the price if Arc and Goodwill. Waste of effort, clothes get donated to nonprofit. Thanks for the lesson. read more

Service - not great, they seem to have a bit of an attitude. My statement appears to be validated by previous Yelp opinions. One of my drops was a pair of slacks, currently on sale in the store I purchased, Clothes Mentor refused them????? Recently dropped off a number of clothing items, all from a upper end women's store. One of the items they declined is on sale in the store for $129!!! Jewelry declined - very popular!! As luck would have it I work for the at the women's store. Obviously won't be back. This Clothes Mentor is fantastic! Not only are the clothes high quality with many famous labels and lots even new, but the staff is so kind and easy to get along with. I had a few designer/high-end clothes to sell and almost did not come here because of the reviews, but was glad I did. Contrary to what most people are saying on here, I had a really great experience with the workers. I came in and there was a line, and so one of the other workers came around the side to ask if I had sold to them before and then pulled me to the side to assist me. Bring your clothes in a basket of some sort, but they will also have you move it into baskets they have for you in the store too, which you can fill up to two of. After she helped me move my clothes over while giving me suggestions on what they were currently looking for, I got back in line to wait to be checked in. The worker helping check in was very kind to me, and was trying to be kind to the customer in front of me despite the customer being incredibly rude to her for no good reason, and seemingly finding it entertaining. I applaud the worker on her patience when dealing with this customer cause she had more than I would've been able to. If you have a negative experience with the workers here, I would advise you to check yourself and how you were treating them because I showed them nothing but kindness and patience and that's what I received back. read more

Just went in to browse for the first time ever right before closing apparently. I wasn't greeted by any of the women working. I didn't take long because I overheard them talking about turning off the open sign and I know people want to get home after a long day. As I was leaving I made eye contact & smiled at one of the women, she just walked past as if she didn't even see me. I hate to pull the race card but maybe I wasn't the right color. I don't know. I will also say many items were overpriced for being used & some things even had piling. I would never shop or sell here. I've consigned clothing for over 20 years at various consignment stores with good results; however, I decided to try this place because it's close to where I live. Since I only buy good quality clothes for myself, so I thought they might buy most of it. However, they only wanted some of my clothing from Chico's and a couple of very expensive AGL shoes. I had the feeling that they didn't really know what they were doing. They offered my $37 for all of what they had chosen. I knew I could get more than $37 at another consignment store I've frequented for ONE of the pairs of shoes alone. Felt rather insulted by their offer and will never attempt to consign there again. read more

Stepped in to shop for my teenage daughters. We have been here in the past and the clothing was decent, pricing is ok. This trip around it is obvious it is run by an older generation and there were few to no name brand items. My mother in law would probably shop here and enjoy it we did not. The women working here are sweet but this just isn't the place to sell brand name clothes. i had a medium sized bag full of washed and mint condition true religions, juicy couture items, and calvin klein items. When I got the text to pick up my items, they informed me they decided to keep absolutely none of it and handed me my massive pile of clothes without a paper bag or anything of the sort. I listed the clothes online an hour ago and it all sold within 30 mins and I made 500$. I dropped off two bags of clothing (almost all were brand new) and I was told they will not take any of them. When I went to pick them up, they had put my clothes by the front door instead of behind the cash register, which made me uneasy because anyone could've grabbed them and left. Additionally, the employee said very loudly "so sorry we couldn't take any of your clothes" across the room, and people who were shopping heard. This place is a joke. Both times I've gone in to try to sell Versace sunglasses. One has a tiny micro scratch and they turned them down both times. It was barely visible. I've been shopping and selling at this location for over three years and I've never been treated as poorly as I was today. I brought a mix of both bread and butter and high end designer items to sell today. I am aware there is typically a wait due to the volume of sellers and the time it takes for the items to be thoroughly inspected and researched. However, I was told I didn't have a long wait and for almost two hours, I was the only one in the store. I noticed there was quite a bit of chatter and not a lot of working amongst the staff this afternoon. I could hear them talking about my items. A bit callous if you ask me. When I politely asked how much longer it would take for my items to be assessed, I was met with blank stares and an irritated "We're still researching the boots." I was a bit taken aback since I didn't think I was asking much. So instead of getting upset, I decided to remove myself from the store while I waited for them to finish my items. When I came back 5 minutes later, I was met with a little to no acknowledgement. I brought in some high end items and was perfectly polite, so I'm not sure why I was treated so poorly. I will no longer do business with this location. Remember, it's a second hand buy, sell, trade store Littleton CO, not Rodeo Drive. Walk-in sellers are what keep this business running, so perhaps you should treat them with a little more kindness and respect. read more

I'm disappointed in Clothes Mentor today. I sell clothes here about 2/3 times a year and have had some success in making some money off things I would normally just donate. They bought everything I brought in but their offer was extremely low. What happened to a third of original price with 40% to seller?? A little research on what things cost and a math lesson might help business and customer satisfaction. Beware sellers!! Question their offers rather than just settle. What this store did today was nearly theft. I regret selling my things here. I should have just donated everything. I won't be back to sell or shop again. read more

Tip for some one who wants to sell: if you don't buy clothes here then they won't be interested in buying your clothes. The styles of clothes they sell are not my taste even though I like the brand's they sell or the quality. Seem to have forgotten that it takes sellers to make their store work. At my last visit I remembered why I quit going in, a very rude and cold clerk. They usually buy most of the items I bring in but I have noticed that the offers have gotten smaller and smaller to the point of insult. I took in a brand new dress, still with tags (INC) and a pair of Dolce Vita boots I had worn one time, a pair of Sperry's and another high dollar dress, only to be offered $17.00. SEVENTEEN DOLLARS. And, I had to wait 5 days to hear back. I'd have felt better giving it to someone in need and now I wish I had done just that. Won't be going back. read more

This place used to actually be a decent place to sell professional clothes. First time I made well over $60 selling my stuff. Usually I would average about $40 selling there. In the last few months, they have been rejecting way more stuff and paying way less. They also buy very strange items: I sold a pair of well worn Levi's jeggings but they didn't buy the pair of Levi's I barely worn. I've looked around in there as well and the stuff is starting to look really cheap...like tacky cheap. I would be embarrassed to wear most of the stuff there at work. Maybe they have changed their demographic to cater the 50+ crowd because they used to have cute stuff in there. The employees used to be pleasant but this time when I went to sell my stuff, the employee was very rude to me. To the point where she said "We're done here. Bye " when I dropped off my stuff. This is a shop in a strip mall in Littleton: not Rodeo Drive in LA. The employees seem more interested in actively ignoring their customers (very loud personal conversations, curt responses, not even acknowledging customers) than being pleasant. I looked around for a few minutes after I dropped off my stuff and saw many people just walk out with nothing. This place could be amazing with the proper staff training and a focus on purchasing more upscale items (versus having a handful of nice stuff and then trashy filler items) but until then, I'm not going back. There aren't many other places to sell professional items in Littleton, much rather Denver so good luck if you are looking to even sell. read more
