He is also doing renovations and additions to the camp. There is a beach for the kids to make sand castles, fishing, a great dog run with an obstacle run. It is also quiet. Quiet and peaceful, I stayed four nights here in early April 2021. This RV park has a mix of…read more"permanent" residents (some of these trailers look like maybe they haven't moved in years) and transients like myself. Contractors, residents and even a few military folks that must be commuting from the nearby military base (one guy has a high end Class A and a Tesla). I had a pleasant stay, finding it nice for doing some remote work from the table in my Class C. The park has a few kids but they don't make much noise. The folks coming and going were quiet enough. It's likely because the manager (owner?) lives on site and can keep an eye/ear on things. It's far enough from civilization that it was placid, with a large lake that has the occasional boater (mostly rowboats and canoes) and pole fisher. I had a few walks around the park to get some exercise and it's nice. Keep an eye out for the occasional dog owner that doesn't pick up. The bathhouse was very nice with plenty of good hot water. Showers were in stalls with curtains, much like something you'd see in your local fitness center or YMCA. There is a laundry with washer and dryer for $1 each load. Some kind soul had left detergent on the shelf, so thanks for that! Perfectly okay here and no one disturbed my stuff. The electric and water hookup at my pad worked perfectly fine. The black water dump on the way out was also good enough and that's where the trash dumpster was located. Standard stuff if you don't mind storing black water for a couple of days and dumping it on the way out. The water from the tap at my site was clean - TDS rating as low as that from my kitchen sink back in Charlotte. No problems there. It wasn't a huge site but it fit my RV just fine and had a little bit of shade. Only two complaints. First, I was never able to connect to the wifi despite the printed password in the welcome guide. There are signals but my laptop and phone just wouldn't connect. I didn't ask for assistance, so that's on me. Second, the park is quite sandy in most areas. This means that you need to be careful not to track it back into your RV. I bought an indoor/outdoor rug and that helped some. The park is at the end of a mile long sand track. I had no problem negotiating it at the posted 15 mph limit. I don't see the big deal. Yes, the office is a little cluttered but so what? I didn't spend any time there other than during my check in and when I returned to pick up a bathhouse key. There is a Walmart and other shopping/eats in Raeford, about 15-20 minutes away. No break down as what you used or how much each kilowatt cost. We had a feeling, the entire bill was divided between the campers. Our electric bill was $190-$200 for each month we stayed. There is no way. That's a house electric bill. Oh, and there is an empty camper across from us that the owner rents out. There was no one in it the 2 months we stayed, but the AC was on the entire time. Guess who paid for that?

Then we read the contract more closely we discovered we could never cancel or opt out of the contract it would mean we both would have to be deceased to get out of the contract. So we decided to cancel within our 7 days they gave us to cancel and get a refund back. So I called and told them we were going to cancel or contract with Midwest Outdoors. They told me they needed my cancellation in writing. I told them I would get it in the mail. Well, the next morning I was informed my father passed away. And never got around sending in my cancellation. So, January of 2022 we were informed Travel Resorts of America purchased Midwest Outdoors. We Tried to talk to these people and reason with them and got nowhere. So, we continued to pay the annual fee for camping and went camping. Then one day we received a phone call they wanted to meet with us and see if we were happy and what they could do for us. This happened twice so far, and we were promised many things and find out nothing was true. I have called customer service many times and to find out everything we were told was not true. We have talked and meet so many people while camping and the same thing as us. Everything Travel Resorts of America has told them was all a lie. So now we are stuck. I did get a promotion to pay for 5 years and only pay for 4 years, the 5 years would be free for us to continue camping for that one price. At the end of our contract, I will sell or give it away if that is possible to anyone to would be interested. OR if after all this time I get a Opt out added to my contract. I would also like to say I can see where Travel Resorts could work is for retired people that have family in other states they can visit. But the fees are very high and you're paying this fee with lots of rules and regulations as well. The best part is now Travel Resorts of American are selling some of our resorts here in Minnesota to KOA. And now we have to camp only in certain spots. The campground is closed to certain spots for Travel Resorts of America campers. Not a happy camper

Now that it is non longer membership camping and open to the public, these properties are simply mid grade campgrounds.
