I have to update my review of Cloud Nine to let folks know they have a new(ish) therapist - Taylor - who would be inducted into the Massage Hall of Fame if one such existed. Twice she has eliminated very painful back pain in a 90 min session - she concentrates every second of the massage on you, and is very compassionate as an added plus. While I still highly recommend Cloud Nine's Maplewood site, those living farther West can book at the O'Fallon site with Taylor with strong confidence - Cloud Nine still receives my highest possible recommendation! read more

I received a 90 minute massage today. It was excruciatingly painful. I almost had to ask to leave. I asked for the therapist to use less pressure, as she was causing me pain, many times. However, she would not let up. I winced, loudly said "that hurts", and groaned throughout the massage, to no avail. I specifically asked her to be careful around a tender varicose vein, which she did not. Tonight, I literally have bruising on the back of my legs from the intense pressure. I cannot believe I actually paid to endure this. I definitely will not return. I know they have other therapists, however, how can I trust that I will be listened to after this experience? read more

I really appreciated that Christine asked about problem areas and then actually focused on those areas. I utilize Yelp often and it's been a great resource to find lots of local gems. I seldom write bad reviews but this time I need to share a bad experience. Initially I was thankful that cloud nine could schedule a couples massage in 24 hours. Planned to surprise my man w a relaxing morning. Drove an hour in for a 10:30 appt. arrived at cloud nine at 10:15. Doors locked. Sat in car till someone showed up at 10:25. While this lady was nice enough we struggled to understand her. She handed us typical massage forms and disappeared to the back. Ten minutes later she came back saying she was trying to get in touch w other therapist and the owners. Another Ten minutes later we found her and handed back forms. It was now over 20 minutes from our appt. time. Again, couldn't reAlly understand her but asked for call back from boss. The boss did call back promptly but w no explanation. She was apologetic but we were not interested in rescheduling due to the bad impression left. I never even got the chance to get a massage at this place because of the customer service. I tried calling to book an appointment and their voicemail said to go online. I tried that, but it was complicated with 4 people, so i tried calling back. Again, no answer. I left a voicemail and they never called me back even though they were open for another 4 hours that day. The next day i tried stopping by and it was hard to find because they don't have a large sign. Once i found it, i went inside and there was no one art the "desk" and the place looked rather sketchy with the massage rooms being all in the main hallway right there within plain sight from the window to the street. I call the day before and no one answer the phone. But i got a text so i text back about what i want to book. A few hours later a person call me. I make the appointment with him. As a newcomer to this area, I was at a loss when I woke up on a Monday morning with a pain in my left shoulder like I have never experienced. I signed onto Yelp and searched for a massage salon. After reading a couple reviews I opted to call and make an appt. upon arrival I met Heidi who was going to work on me to hopefully make my shoulder better. Well I've got to tell you Heidi was so caring in taking her time and knowledge to figure out which muscle group was affected. She knew I was in pain and was so kind and I knew she'd take care of me! And she did - using a couple of different oils and massage techniques. When I left I could lift my arm and was able to drive. By the following morning after using her ideas for stretching and heating blanket I was pain free. Heidi was committed to helping and she did an amazing job.
