Ask the Community - Clouser Drilling

Is there a limit to the depth a water well can be drilled in Josephine-Jackson counties?

Hi Ed. Thank you for your question. There is a practical and sensible depth in our area. Conditions of rock, stability, and water quality can deteriorate with depths greater than 1,000 feet. The deepest known well in Southern Oregon is 1,400 feet.

But, I got the call, and Kevin came out and sized it up and picked a fabulous spot for the well.

A&M did a fantastic job drilling a well for our new property…read more Russell knows how to get it right. It was done in 3 days. He helped us pick out a suitable location and explained about how far down we would likely need to drill to hit water. His work was excellent, done promptly and fairly priced. I am thankful we selected him, as another local drilling company quoted me a time 3 months out. We have a great new well thanks to an experienced and great driller. Found out later Russell is the go to man locally, so we lucked out!

He came out and told me I needed a new water jet and a bladder. Cost me $900. Called him the next day and told him it was not working still. He told me he will come out and adjust the water jet pump. that day he told me it was not the water jet pump it was the well. They drilled a new well for $1,000. I waited a couple days call him. He told me he was coming He never showed up for almost 2 months. Then he told me that he was leaving for Florida for the winter. Did not have time to finish the job. I called the company that recommended him and argue with them that he was a sub of theirs. They should stand by their subs. Finally 3 months later the company that recommended him. Came out and finish the job. That was an October 24th 2019. Had to pay more money for the company to Fox his mistake. Now I am stuck with a water jet pump and a bladder that I did not need. It must be nice to leave customers stranded with no water. And leave for the winter to Florida. Again leave for vacation to Florida and leave customer stranded with no water. No consideration. I would not recommend him to my worst enemies. He should not be in business. Stay away Beware beware beware

Umpqua water potable for domestic consumption. Unfortunately, a log destroyed the River intake that first winter. I called them to come back to develop a seasonal system for summer use instead of the permanent system that was too risky to count on. They assured me they would be back. I texted. I emailed. I called. Over and over. I was told they would return but after months of asking and waiting they never showed. Our new house was close to being completed and we had no water for it. I contacted a different company and they really bailed us out of the hole that Gilbert Pump left us in. I'd see the Gilbert truck often drive by to do jobs on our street, but they chose to not return. I was always considerate and kind whenever I communicated with the office manager about our need for further services from them. I paid them in full. The water treatment system they installed works fine so they can do good work when they make themselves available. Our new seasonal system was the right solution and it is functioning well with the filtration system Gilbert installed. We now use rain capture over the winter months with 5000 gal of storage and install the seasonal system once it quits raining. It is still very perplexing why Gilbert pump left us high and dry. There seems to be internal "issues" with this company.
