Tucked away on Ocean Park Blvd. The park has a neighborhood feel. 2 busy baseball fields, basketball courts and playground plus numerous picnic tables throughout the park located in different areas. Lots of families lots of kids and a favorite of dog lovers. The negative is people who let their dogs off the leash to chase the squirrels and think this is ok. It is not. The other is the intermittent noise from planes taking off and landing in adjacent Santa Monica Airport (which thankfully is closing in coming years.) unfortunately there aren't many food options nearby so you have to bring your own. Nice, well kept park. Very crowded on weekends. We brought a blanket to picnic and had plenty of space and shade away from the crowds. It's close to lots of local eateries if you want to pick something up on your way. My son loved the play area but that giant tower thing they had was a little treacherous. When bigger kids were running up and down the steps I was really nervous he was going to fall. Regardless, it's a great spot for families and I think I saw a couple birthday party gatherings while we were there. There were a lot of other amenities I didn't get to explore but I'm glad I know about this park for the future! Street parking only. read more

This park is very well maintained and offers a nice open space with plenty of facilities. It's big enough to accommodate multiple areas, there's a beach volleyball court, basketball court, softball and baseball fields (the softball area appears to be under renovation),and kids' playground. There's also a wide paved path that loops around the park, great for walking, jogging, or strollers--especially if you prefer not to walk on the grass. It's not flashy or crowded like some of the bigger LA parks, but that's exactly the charm. It feels very local and grounded -- families walking dogs, kids at the playground, and others just sitting on the grass taking a break from the city. The park is clean, well maintained, and peaceful considering how close it is to busy streets. There's a nice open field, tennis courts, and enough space to actually breathe. Parking: This location has plenty of free public parking, I've never not found a parking spot. 4 stars Park: This location has several baseball fields, basketball court, playgrounds, tennis courts, public restrooms, open grass to play other sports, and a paved walking trail around the park. Not very crowded and gives off a SM locals vibe. This park also has the SM airport next door which is fun to watch and provides a safety barrier from LA. Well, you cannot really beat any view of a park right on the beach. Clover Park is the most popular one in Santa Monica. Good place to get romantic with your significant other, and a place to bring your children to play at, and barbecue. They have multiple softball fields and basketball. When I used to live in the neighborhood, this was my go-to park for running because of how safe and clean it is. There's a playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, and baseball fields. There's a wired fence separating the park from the Santa Monica Airport, so you can see even see the planes up-close. There aren't many street lamps to light up all the walk paths at night, so I'd avoid coming here once it's dark though. read more

Probably one of the best parks we have here in Santa Monica. I'm biased because it's in my 'hood! Clover Park is a huge park with lots of green space for the entire family, including fur babies. It's located off of Ocean Park near the Santa Monica airport. There's plenty of free parking and lots of pop up activities on weekends. Also the bathrooms are clean! That's a plus. Clover Park A nice and small community park around the corner. It is also next to the airport for private jets and a business park. Lively, clean, safe and friendly. Families walk the dogs, play soccer, baseball, jog and quick walk like me. There is a concrete path for people to walk. The total length is probably less than a mile. I walked 2-3 times until dark and still felt a bit too short. The restroom is clean unlike the ones in Santa Monica Pier area. Also no homeless around this area. If you are hungry, a few blocks around here, there are just many options. Sidewalk on Ocean Park Blvd is clean, nice, and well maintained. It is a pleasure to walk here to see kids and families play, exercise and be a part of this community. It is always good to visit part regardless big or small. read more

I used to live in Ocean Park and enjoyed going here many times to workout on the free bodybuilding stations. It's very conveniently located next to the business park and Santa Monica airport. There's also a starbucks and some nice restaurants across the street and even a small health food grocery. One of the biggest parks in SM. A huge plus is that Clover Park is next to the Santa Monica AirPort, so the kids love seeing the small planes take off and land. Just a few short years back, Clover Park had no homeless people sleeping in the park at night. SMPD made sure of that. Now it is a regular nightly activity. One person even sets up a hammock to sleep in. Between the vehicles with people living in them on the street next to the park and the people sleeping in the park, the number of people is well into double digits. The City provides bathrooms and garbage cans but from the photos you can see they are not always used. Dogs off regularly happen daily. The City of Santa Monica does absolutely nothing to enforce this law. When I contacted Animal Control about this issue I was told if a dog fight occurs, I should have my cell phone in hand and film it, otherwise it will be a he said, she said situation as to if the other dog was actually on a leash. REALLY, I'm supposed to have a cell phone in hand to film another dog aggressing against my dog. How about the City does there job and enforces the leash law. Once again, another situation where the City of Santa Monica does not do their job. Just a few short years ago The City of Santa Monica spent a ridiculous amount of time and money replacing the old bathrooms in Clover Park. I got to know the contractor a bit during the construction due to the vast time frame it took. According to the contractor the project took so long because the City of Santa Monca kept changing the design. The contractor also told me these were the most expensive public bathrooms he had ever built. He was in the business of building public bathrooms. Now just a few short years later they are showing signs of rust in multiple locations. The old cinder block bathrooms lasted for decades. Instead of replacing the simple cinder block bathrooms once again, SM had decided to completely reinvent the wheel, I would be very surprised if these bathrooms do not need to be replaced within the decade. The City of Santa Monica is very competent in wasting money. Why not, it is not their money, it is the tax payers who pay far too much money in taxes for what we get in return. Come to Clover Park for the free WiFi and stay for the benefit that you know SMPD will not bother you even though you are breaking the law. read more

Nice park with a track run at the very back. Easy street parking. Right next to SaMo airport, to see the man made birds vs. pigeons that frequent the park too :-) Great convenient location for kids to get out, away from Wii and TV and get some fresh air. Santa Monica residents with kiddos: this is an awesome and inexpensive place to host a gathering or birthday party! Attended a four year old's birthday here yesterday here and everyone (young and old) had a lovely time. Residents can reserve little areas onsite for about $80 for four hours (don't quote me on that since I didn't foot the bill, but I believe that's what my friends paid to host there). The reserved space had some grills and picnic tables for prepping food and eating. As weird as it is, the restrooms were also a highlight for me. They were super clean with running sinks, soap, and hand dryers. As someone who ran long distance in a former life, I've seen A LOT of park restrooms in my day. This might be the nicest once I've ever seen! The park itself is really big, so despite it being a very nice Sunday, it didn't feel overly crowded. There are swings and things like that in the middle and then sidewalks throughout. A few things to be mindful of: even though Ocean Park is a little ways away from the park, it's a pretty busy street and you can't really see your kiddos if they're near it. We had kids scootering and made sure someone was always with them if they were heading that direction. There's a parking lot onsite (which is super nice since parking in Santa Monica can be tricky), but be sure to watch your kids there too as it's even closer to the park. The most spacious park in Santa Monica. Lots of grassy fields, picnic tables, BBQ stands. Several playgrounds for kids, swings, some exercise equipment for adults/teenagers, a basketball court, tennis courts, a sand playground, etc. It's also smartly planned so that one can run or walk the loop around the park for a nice workout. During the pandemics, there were so many outdoor classes there. Going to the park every day and seeing people helped my family stay sane during that tough time. A very nice and safe park in Santa Monica. There is a free public parking lot. While the play structure is a bit small, it is more than made up by the cool tower you can walk up on. It appeared as though almost the entire neighborhood was in this park last Sunday. And that indicates how well the park is serving its community. In that regard, Clover Park comes as close to perfection as any I've seen along the park circuit. Clover covers 13-1/2 acres, with amenities everywhere you turn. There's a fitness course with 12 stations along the walking path. There's a baseball field plus 2 fields for soccer, a basketball court, 2 tennis courts, and a pristine sand volleyball court (see photo). There are picnic areas with cooking facilities, and....perhaps the piece de resistance of the space: the kids' tower. My gawd, kids were all over inside that thing, like ants on an anthill. It was remarkable. The tower is tall, but it appeared that there was no way for kiddies to fall out. I stood and watched in wonder for about 10 minutes. The entire park was mobbed, in fact. Parties were in progress at the picnic areas and almost all the sports facilities were in use, except the very cool sand volleyball court. Other characteristics of a perfect park include big shade trees, easy parking, and views.....and Clover Park has all of those. The views are of distant hills to the south, as well as a great view of the action at Santa Monica airport. I love to watch planes taking off, and you got that here. My friends held a co-ed baby shower / BBQ here over the weekend and it was great! I usually think of parks in LA as being not the cleanest, but this one was really clean and really accessible with several public restrooms and parking lots. There's also street parking for those like me who don't realize there's a public lot. Major points for any place in LA where parking is abundant. Warning: Clover Park is right by the airport so it will be loud at times with planes taking off and landing. That didn't bother me at all, but it might bother you. It's definitely kid and dog friendly, and as I found out, NOT alcohol friendly. Oh well, it's a public park, so I won't dock it points for that. I think that rule just exists so people aren't obnoxious around the kids and families so I'm okay with it. If we had snuck in some wine or champagne I'm sure it would have been fine (shhh I didn't say that, not condoning break the law.. really... ). This is my local park and I'm really glad it's here. The area doesn't have many parks, but this one is one of the best. You can't tell from the street, but this park is HUGE, and goes back two blocks. Includes a playground, soccer field, 3 baseball diamonds, volleyball court, 2 tennis courts, and one basketball court, along with BBQs scattered everywhere. It also has a fitness course around the perimeter and good running sidewalks. Very well maintained, and with clean restrooms. On the weekends, they sometimes host art fairs or other events. If you want to have a big group BBQ, get there EARLY..... the big picnic areas are in high demand and some people do stakeouts beginning at 5 or 6AM to save them. I've been involved in one, and have gotten many, many, dirty looks or people waiting for me to step away. It's very family friendly, dog friendly, and full of people of all ages. I wish the lights would stay on longer, and last summer, the lights on one of the tennis courts went unrepaired for months, but overall it's a great park and I'm happy to be so close by. read more

I have a 2 year old boy who has got to get out of our apartment on weekends. Thankfully, we live by a few parks. But Clover Park is by far my favorite. They don't have all the jungly-gym type things that the Sepulveda Park has, and they don't have a water feature the kids can jump through like the Douglas park on Wilshire has, but it's very large, never overcrowded, and you can watch planes take off and land from the santa monica airport. Kieran loves planes. And he loves to play in the sand box and push his red wagon around as well. It's great to always see people out having BBQ's, playing frisbee or soccer, and during the right season you can watch little league. The people that come here don't seem to give off the snooty or I've-got-money vibe as they do at Douglas Park. And did I mention the planes? Planes go UP! Go UP! read more
