My complaint was on the day we were leaving the lady said we only had 23 #s of fish with was wrong cause we caught 2 limits of halibut, silvers and pinks plus 28 more pinks approx 100# of fish I said she was wrong and took it up with someone in charge of where they kept the fish he couldn't find our fish mind you we had a plane to catch . So I was stressed it ruined our last day. After an hour or so he said oh I found your fish. By this time I had lost all trust in clover pass I trusted them to to handle my fish was suspicious they were hiding something.by the way alot of the packaging lost there vacuum and so I had to repack many fish to avoid freezer burn when I got the fish home I won't go there again. read more

I have been fishing with clover pass for about 25 years, each September. The accommodations have greatly improved, the food has always been incredible, I have food allergies and the cooks have always been accommodating. The deck perrsonel are there to help whenever needed. My fishing partners and I have turely enjoyed our time at cloverpass. From the moment Lydia met us at the ferry until we packed the van for the ride to the airport it was truly amazing. This company knows how to make your experience fun and relaxing. Our party was 18 strong with many returning from previous years. It helped that we could draw off their knowledge as there is a lot to process when you arrive. We were assigned our very clean and adequate rooms, unpacked, relaxed with a few beers on the deck and discussed our plans for the week. We had a very adequate boat assigned to us. 3 to a boat including all the tackle, ice, bait and a quick check over (like a rental car) for our 5 day self guided trip. It was all completed quickly and efficiently from the front office and the dock interns. It ain't their first rodeo, folks!! The fishing was great. Our boat managed 60 lbs. of Halibut fillets to bring home and we were new to it all. A cell phone app called Navionics is highly recommended as it's a big ocean and you're looking for specific spots and depths to drop your bait. 3 meals a day. Breakfast at 5 AM and a sandwich bar to make your bag lunch for the day. OR come back to the dock as we did to relax and enjoy a sit down lunch. Fresh soup every day! Dinner at 7 and it was a nice menu with different dishes each night. Steak and Lobster night, a Low Country Boil with Shrimp and Mussels, Chicken dishes, Pulled Pork, fresh fish and more. A big shout out to Chef Daniel, Jason and Vincent for keeping us well fed! The bar is small but very adequate. Where else does one find Tito's vodka in the well? The bartender Sariah can make it all, and make it very well. Martini? Manhattan? No problem. Canned beer cold and fresh! The dock interns are busy bees all day long. Returning for lunch we could re-ice, re-bait and occasionally swap out a rod that might have gotten worked over by 30 lb. fish! Every night upon retiring we found our beds made and room cleaned. Thank you to the staff that makes that happen! This business wants you to have the best time possible and, believe me, they go out of their way to make that happen. I have been going to Clover Pass Resort for a few years now and have never had bad service, nor have they ever failed to exceed my expectations. This year is no exception; with the restrictions on travel to Alaska due to the Covid pandemic, Cloverpass has assigned a wonderful assistant, (Alana), to oversee the handling of getting the Covid test to you and documented in time for you to not have any hangups in getting there. She went above and beyond for me to make certain that the testing supplies arrived on my doorstep on time; even going so far as to call me after hours on her own time! What awesome service; but that is what I have come to expect from this incredible outfit. (P.S. the fishing and food is excellent as well). read more

This is the 9th year of fishing out of Clover Pass Resort. The rooms are really nothing to write home about but everything else is. The yellow Thunderjet boats are confortable and well set up for fishing the local water. They have downriggers, Furuno chart plotter with fish finder, VHF Radio, and hardly use any gas. The fish processing was great and we had a lot of fish to process.The food was very good, and staff very helpful. We had 15 guys on our trip and every one will be coming back next year! I shouldn't be rating this by stars at all. Over the last 25 years I've traveled to Ketchikan about 20 times. I've always looked forward to driving to Clover Pass to have dinner at the restaurant. Sometimes we'd rent a skiff to go fishing and then have dinner at the restaurant. Jerry, the former owner, was always gracious, the food was good and the atmosphere comfortable. This year we did the same only to see that it became a buffet and to be told it was closed to the public unless we gave them 24 hours advance notice and so we left. Too bad. We'll miss it in future years and won't return. TO EVERYONE WHO IS NOT STAYING AT CLOVER PASS: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME GOING THERE. THEY WON'T SERVE YOU. Merritt W. read more

Clover Pass Resort runs a first class full service lodge. As the below reviewer noted the restaurant is no longer open to the public. The restaurant is only open to lodge guests. I am sure the management felt this was something that needed to be done during the economic down turn. Giving a Fishing Lodge a poor rating because they no longer have a public restaurant is ridiculous. There are plenty of great places to eat in Ketchikan that are open to the public. read more

My only experience with Clover Pass resort has been extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. Three of my coworkers and I had the day off of work and decided to go to Clover Pass and spend the day fishing. After we finished doing all the paperwork, one of the Clover Pass employees started our boat, and we hit the water. After about a 30 minute boat ride we arrived at our destination. We turn off the boat and after about a half hour of fishing, we decided we wanted to move our boat to another spot. When we go to turn on the boat, the key snapped in half and the whole key was stuck inside the ignition switch. We called Clover Pass and they informed us it would take OVER AN HOUR to come pick us up. Luckily, one of the people were were with was able to get the boat started with a multi tool. We drive back, get the boat looked at and fixed, and get the boat filled up with fuel. While the boat was being worked on, multiple different staff members walked past and said something along the lines of, "is that the boat that had the bent key?" We were never even informed that the key for the boat was bent in the first place.To top it off, the mechanic informed us this was not the first time this had happened, and he told us that he had tightened the driver seat so it could no longer swivel and hit the key while in the ignition. Before we left I had asked the staff who filled us up if we were going to have to pay for this fill up, since this wasn't gas we would have used if the key hadn't snapped and he said we wouldn't have to. We fished for the rest of the day then finally came back to pay. Upon arrival, we talked to a young woman and asked for a manager. The young lady was very reluctant to get any management, until eventually and older woman came from the back to speak with us. We started to explain the situation at hand and began to ask if there was any sort of compensation that could be provided for us, and before we even finished explaining, the woman cuts us off and said, verbatim, "We won't do anything for that". The woman didn't even try to listen to the full situation, and even tried to blame us for breaking the key, even though the whole staff was aware that the key was bent before we even took out the boat! The icing on the cake from this whole disaster was when we paid, we still had to pay for the first fill up, even though we were told that we wouldn't have to pay earlier in the day. I was astounded at the abhorrent "customer service" that was provided and am shocked that we were treated this way at fishing establishment as prominent as this. For the serious fisherman, or for someone who just wants to get out and do some fishing, this place has it all in one package! A superior staff at all levels that are service oriented; guide boats if you want to do that, along with skiffs to medium sized boats if you want to go DIY. All that plus hotel and RV accommodations and a great dining room with tasty meals. Did my second trip there a few days ago and experienced a trip that made me want to re-book asap. The fish were right there in front of the resort, (all the salmon we caught were within sight of the resort), of course the guided boats did better than DIY but almost everyone gets salmon or halibut... To say nothing of the awesome scenery. The staff goes out of their way to ensure all of your needs and concerns are addressed. Your catch is handled with utmost care, the rooms were clean and everyone there was friendly and hard working. I was and am very impressed and intend to go back again later this year. read more

i just got back from here. we spent a week. it was nothing like micheal briggs told me it would be. he didnt actually lie to me, we could've fished for halibut really close to the lodge, but if you want to catch any, you need to go out in open water. not something i would recommend in one of their 14 foot skiffs. we went through 4 boats before we got one that ran. the fishing equipment they give you is old and beat up. i got a rod and reel with 1/2 the screws missing from the reel. most of the pictures of fish they put on their website are from the charter service. the room smelled musty, the water is brown, there's a 13 inch tv with about 3 channels. the food is FANTASTIC!! the staff was great. if you want to go fishing, this place will work. if you want to catch fish, go somewhere else. read more

My husband and I just returned from Clover Pass and are already wanting to go back. We had the best time. All the staff were above friendly and helpful starting with Tom picking us up at the airport to all the staff on the docks taking care of the boats and fish. Anything we needed they were there to assist. The staff in the dining room were great and so was the food. We upgraded to the 20' boats and they were awesome. The fishing poles worked too. We brought home 75' worth of salmon. We didn't try for halibut. Yes the charter boats will get more fish but we had more fun running around on our own. We saw whales, dolphins and plenty of eagles. So ok the rooms aren't fancy hotel style but we were there to fish not watch tv. Although the brown water did freak us out a little but they reassured us it was filtered and perfectly safe which it was. My only negative is the beds could be a bit more comfortable. But hey, if I want a great bed I should stay home. And I guarantee that won't stop me from coming back. No place is perfect but this place certainly tries very hard to be and make sure you are having a good time. WE WILL BE BACK!!! read more

I just got back from a week at Clover Pass and it was absolutely amazing. The Staff is great and the scenery is majestic. Fishing was a little hit or miss but that can't be blamed on the lodge. Sometimes the fish bite and sometimes they don't. We caught Salmon and Halibut and enjoyed seeing the whales come right up by the dock. Clover Pass is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to and I will definitely be back. read more

I recently had the experience of a lifetime at the Clover Pass Resort in Ketchikan, AK. This cozy little lodge set just North of Ketchikan played host to the First Annual Think Alaskan Pink Ladies Classic. A self guided fishing adventure reserved only for us ladies! The rooms were clean, the staff was AMAZING, the food - OFF THE HOOK! They have a private chef that caters only to the guests of the lodge. Breakfast was hot and ready every morning before we headed out for a day of fishing. An AMAZING sandwich bar was completely stocked with deli meats, cheese and fresh cut veggies so you could pack a lunch and not have to return to the lodge for your mid-day meal. If you chose to return, there was always a steaming hot pot of gumbo, stew or soup to warm you up before you headed back out for the rest of the afternoon. The evening meal was GOURMET, and I don't throw that term around lightly. Fresh halibut, steamed vegetables, salad, bread and desert fit for a queen along with many others that were truly incredible during my stays there. Yes, I went back TWICE in 2011 and am going to return in 2012 for the 2nd Annual Think Alaskan Pink. If you like to fish, and you are a lady, then you need to go to Clover Pass! read more
